Could you make a third post with which version drivers you're calling "latest".

I dunno if this has already been posted or not, but for people with ATI cards, your problems may be solved when you log in tomorrow.

- On certain AMD (ATI) graphics cards, the FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version may appear to run slow.
- On certain NVIDIA graphics cards, characters may not display correctly.
Tell me how re-enabling Intel's Speedstep technology gave me an extra 300 points on my score...

I thought enabling it was supposed to lower your score haha.
"Heyyy look my score fluctuated a few points" posts after getting kind of annoying now.
Logged in last night initially on my fiancee's computer since we were worried more about her's not being able to run it. Start out character creation smooth as can be, start up the game, CS runs about as choppy as the benchmark did, load up the game and everything is going swell. Adjusted a couple settings and while not doing great, we were getting manageable framerates (I'd guess betwee 10~20 depending on what was going on). Dropped the in game settings, next CS loads a little better and she preps for the deck scene only to have no NPCs load. After about 15minutes we just gave up and booted up my character on my computer. Ran just as good as I expected.
I saw the problems cropping up on the beta forums but those were with the 400 series nVidias; did anyone else have any similar problems of character model loading but no NPCs? The 400 series seemed to be both character and NPCs not loading so I'm not sure if it's related or not. Asked on the Beta forum earlier, but I've yet to be able to load the entire site since I posted so I have no idea if it was answered there.
Herpderp forgot to post her GPU; it's a GT 310M.
Honestly if they keep the FPS capped at 30 for playing the game, they need to change the FPS of cut scenes to 30 FPS. But I am curious if that should even be done. For the most part, the FPS limitation is probably put into place because of the Playstation 3. There are a few games on that system that can play at 60 FPS. Not sure if a game can be played at a better speed than that. I would imagine with 3D coming out for PS3 it has to run at 60fps minimum. 30fps for each eye.
In before lolPS3 limitations... already?!
Question for beta testers: Were cut scenes capped at 60 fps? I am positive it's been mentioned before but before I go look I thought I would ask. With HDTV technology being pretty mainstream now, I do encourage them to cap it at 60fps. Playstation 3 can handle it.
Man, you're right. It's pretty stupid talking about benchmark tweaks in the benchmark thread.
Silly me!
I presume my computer is just too old to run it properly. If you have a black screen with sound but no picture, does that mean you're just boned? In the process of updating my drivers but my laptop is like 3 years old:
nVidia GeForce Go 7900 GS
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU
T7200 @ 2.00 ghz
1 gig of RAM
Sorry if this has been addressed 50x, "black screen" and a few other tries just yield much in search
Speedstep didn't do anything imo. 300 points can fluctuate easily, temp changes, random things running the background that weren't previously (services), anything.
600+ and I could see a significance. I highly doubt enabling it caused that.
Reinstalled my GTX 295
Official Drivers 1 GPU: 5000~ (perfectly fluid, graph is a straight line)
Official Drivers 2 GPU with SLI trick: 3500~ (lots of stuttering, graph just keep going up and down)
Newest Beta Drivers 1 GPU: 5000~ (perfectly fluid, graph is a straight line)
Newest Beta Drivers 2 GPU with SLI trick: didn't finish~ (less stuttering, looked fluid and the graph was almost a perfectly straight line but you could tell it was lower performance than single GPU)
"Heyyyy why does my laptop suck/has low score?" got pretty old too.
Wooohooo!!! I just got home from Australia 5hrs ago!! upgrading tomorrow but i thought i would post my scores before the update to the rig
