Here is my high settings on 2monitor setup 1080p. Gotta love my current CPU bottleneck, but that will change really soon.

How did you get the benchmark to register that you have gtx 480 x 2 ? Cant seem to get mine to notice that it has two at the end of benchmark

That could just be because he has 2 monitors, shows the same thing on my home pc with it connected to the monitor and the tv even though there is only one video card.

1. What cooling are you using for your CPU? H50?

2. Have you run the actual game on 720p? If so, how's the performance with absolute max settings on 720p?

Informative... it seems I shouldn't settle too much and spend a few extra bucks and get the 4850. Thanks for the info.

If budget allows, I would strongly urge you to look up higher unless you plan on playing something like 1280x1024 at half buffer detail and no shadows/effects.

A friend is asking me if his MacBook could run the game before he goes ahead and gets Windows to put on it. I know nothing about mobile GPUs however so could someone help? The spec is:

Core 2 Duo 2.4ghz
4gb RAM
GeForce 320M

Now the CPU and RAM look fine, but WTF is that GPU?

Well i got a dualcore with 2,4 Ghz as well in my notebook and a 9800M GT (thats prolly a hundred times better than the 320M) and the game runs,but not too good.

Don't bother, trash the Applecrap and get something new xD

Think I've hit the limit in this bench for my setup, 920 D0 @ 4.2ghz, 5850 @ 800/1175.

Might push for 4.4/4.6ghz at the weekend, the 5850 is maxed out as artifacts are appearing beyond 800 core! :@

I was just checking this out myself because I just recently purchased a baseline MBP and found this: http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-...M.28701.0.html

Hopefully that will be helpful to your friend. The game will run on the lowest settings, but I doubt you'd get over 20-25 fps avg, and congested areas would probably cause it to drop significantly.

Yeah H50. And I got maxed FPS at 1080p + max settings... didn't see much reason to try 720p/max settings.

I'm still failing at overclocking. It's like I have no idea where to start. There's also all these other settings besides voltage/frequencies/multipliers that I have no fucking clue what they do Q_Q

Think he's referring to his CPU.

Basically you overclock frequencies, which is multiplied by the multiplier

Multiplier x frequency = Final frequency

And then you have voltage, because your CPU need more juice to run, so you may need to increment it slowly by 0.1. But you really want to make sure you have a decent cooling solution before, voltage increases on i7 really makes temp go high.

That link doesn't mean much to me because it doesn't seem to compare with any desktop GPUs, which I'm more familiar with. But you sound like you know your stuff with MBPs.

Is it the voltage increase itself that causes the cpu to wear out more quickly? Or is it the additional heat that results from the voltage increase? (I.E. is there any danger with increasing the voltage as long as the load temperature is ok?)
