Cashback? I'm not sure
Ah, looks like it's this: http://www.bing.com/shopping/pages/s...ck&FORM=CBFS07
thanks, your answer helped me track it down
edit: Although it looks like tiger direct is only 10-12% cb, not the 15% quoted, but w/e.
After seeing that deal the old credit card got white-hot and burned a hole in my pocket... Came up to 299.99 at tiger direct checkout, and then the $20 mail-in rebate, and I have the $36 bing cashback pending. $246 for this is a day's lunch over the 460... well maybe two days.
Yeah such a difference room temp made. I just testing it this morning when it was coolest (and by coolest, still warm as fuck) in the room (aside late night, but by then my comp has been running for a few hours). and average temp for both the CPU and GPU was down by 3-4C. CPU usually idles after startup, w/o any programs running, around 40-43C, it was then 37-41C. And GPU usually idles after startup at around 44/45C, and it then 41C.
I'm gonna look into a room cooling unit that I can place around my comp today lol, would prolly make a huge difference.
Tech question (should ask in tech forum, but will try here first): I usually have np getting into the BIOS screen. After the CPU was OC'd I remember my tech friend having a little bit of trouble getting into BIOS and it took him 2 tries. But I can't seem to get into the BIOS screen. Have tried pressing the [key] once, a few times, and spamming it. But still no luck. Any suggestions?
yeah i have. its [tab] key, haven't had any luck.. Can there be an issue where OC'ing can have the comp by-pass BIOS or just make it harder to get into the BIOS?
more on topic:There "Known issues" list is kind of convoluted since its meshed w/ the "resolved issues," but has the nvidia issue been fixed? (at work so can't test)[Resolved Issues]

- "Guardian's Aspect" affects only Disciples of War.
- There are times when an error may occur causing you to be logged out while trading.
- On certain NVIDIA graphics cards, character graphics may display incorrectly.
Also, some motherboards take longer to get the usb controller running, so if you hit the key when post first starts it might be too early.
It sounds like they keep track of the cashback in your account them, and then once you have more than $5 wroth of cashback you can have them send you a check. They also say the money is typically not available for 60 days after the purchase. When you use bing.com and search for stuff then click the shopping "tab" it shows you the cashback for the retailer and then you click a link to go to the store. When the store load a popup shows up where you enter your email address for your bing account and fill in a captcha phrase, then shop like normal. It is kind of a faith thing, because you never see anything about it after that pop, it never shows up in your transaction. You have to go to you bing account and check for the pending cashback. This was the first time for me using, and it was pretty painless. It links to your windows live account if you haveo ne. And the cashback program is ending july 31.
edit: There is also a thread at that slickdeals link of an OCZ vertex 96gb ssd that is $170 after rebate, and maybe another 15-20 through bing I think. Pretty tempting, but I wasn't really planning on buying anything atm so I gotta pass on it.
Awesome. Glad to see you guys got some use out of that link. I feel kinda dumb for going with the 460 because of heat and noise but meh.

not ready to show benches yet (the desktop is still getting brought back up to speed after I slagged a pair of ram sticks :<) but this is the 'score' graph with the newest 460 CR reference drivers.
it looks like nvidia multi-gpu AFR is operational now, at least, so people with multi-gpu single cards should grab the newest drivers linked upthread and rebench on 'force AFR2'.
Any new driver for multiGPU ATI card? I have a 5970...
I don't know if this just changed to compete with tigerdirect, but on newegg.com:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130550
EVGA GTX470
$349
-$55 instant savings (when you add to cart)
-~2.5% BCB (if you care)
-$25 mail-in rebate
(+ free copy of Just Cause 2)
= $264.99 & free shipping
But also, newegg only charges tax in California, New Jersey, and Tennessee.
(which is cheaper for me than tigerdirect, since they charge tax here in IL, also less hoops to jump through to get your money, and a more reputable store, imo)
