I'll try it. My current best is 2800ish with a 275 gtx and 257.21 drivers.

Your board supports sli? I thought nvidia doesn't like amd.

Any board with the appropriate slots supports both SLI/Crossfire if you know what you're doing

I knew it all along. The Nvidia cards were having driver issues with FFXIV because I was getting lower score compared to the 5870. With the new beta drivers I saw a aprox. 200 points boost. It is now 3972 @ stock gpu and @ stock CPU. I believe once the driver comes out of beta and with a CPU OC and GPU OC I can get above 4500+. Just got to wait it out.

Which beta drivers did you get the 258? I've got the 257.21 and I'm having some problems with it.

New drivers may give a boost here or there, but thats not the reason your score is 'lower' than a 5870. You're running a slower processor at stock on an un-OC'd GPU.. no driver is going to make up for that.

Celeras... you do know we both had the same CPU, in fact, its the guy's screenshot in this thread. He has a 1090T @ 2.8ghz somehow and a radeon 5850 and got 4,000 something. I have a 1090T @ 3.2ghz with GTX 480. Furthermore, I tried OCing to 3.8ghz and the score jumped by a smidge 100. Just to let ya know.

*Also ATI card was out longer so they had more time to tweak their driver for better performance.
Look at this thread I made on nvidia forums, it has his screenshot I got from here.

    It can be found here

    nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us
Go to where it says "beta and archived drivers"
Finally relief for GTX 400 owners. :D A lot of people with GTX 480 and i7-930 OC to 4.0ghz were receiving lower scores before too compared to the same exact CPU OC but with a 5870.

OC'ing your CPU and running on high won't make much difference. If you want to see the difference with a CPU OC, run it on low. Furthermore, if you want to boost your high score, OC your GPU.

You have a 1090T+480, I have a 1055T+470.. and we're both using the same drivers. You get 3900, I get 4500. Figure it out

I have a Phenom II X4 940, OCed to 3.5GHz(3.0 stock) and a GTX 275 that I've had little success OCing. I made around 2980-ish on the bench on High and 3.6k-ish on Low.

After the beta driver install, I made around 3160 on High and 4k on Low.

But I wasn't satisfied with the general performance level I had in beta (20 to 15-and-lower FPS no matter how I tried to slice a 1080p resolution) and I wanted some DX11 futureproofing, so I marked out for the GTX 470 just now.

(P.S. if you want the 15~% rebate from Bing@TigerDirect instead of their 10~12%, go to Bing Shopping and run a search for 'motherboard' with adblock temporarily disabled. The first 'ad' on the result page will have a Bing Cashback link to Tigerdirect with the 15~% rate.)

I'll toss up some pictures soon, then some more when I get the new card.

I couldn't get my 5 year old laptop to run the beta, so I ordered this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16883229192

...and a truly bad ass Acer 24" monitor LED backlit

Will report more once it's here, overclocked, afterburnered, and benchmarked... I am so excited.

Wow, now that is pulling the trigger.

The price is surprisingly not all that blown out of range considering what's in the box, although it kinda bites the processor is the 975 and not the 980 (considering the cost difference between the two is next to nothing). I don't like how the specs don't mention what brand of SSD is being used either. But those are minor complaints; it's still a brutal machine that should keep you happy for quite some time. Grats. :D
