gonna guess you're SLI and got a multi-gpu boost like I did - did the look of the graph in the lower left change?

wondering if the 258's give improvement to true SLI too or just multi-gpu AFR

Whats funny is that i had my shit in the SLI trick but scored lower than with one single card doing benchmark lol.... SLI or Crossfire doesnt scale correctly for the 5xxx series or 4xxx series.. id like to know as soon as possible if 14 will take advantage of SLI and crossfire ,,, if not gonna do a step up plan and get HC GTX 480 ... Side note did ffxi support SLI/Crossfire i played it but didnt have two cards at the time to know if sli works

it supported driver level AFR2, but the improvement was minimal (capped fps lulz), mostly a few extra frames up on your minimum in a busy whitegate. the game itself was a port of a ps2 title and almost didn't require a graphics card at all with a good cpu...


edit: it's possible that I don't 'gain' anything from the AFR2 trick either, except that with a 9800GX2 i lose access to the shared vram if only one card is enabled, so the extra vram may be what gives me an apparent boost in performance...

I used to work at a PC hardware distributor, and I totally would have agreed with you then. They had some of the highest failure rates on their products out of the junk we sold. However, this monitor is just so slick it beats the pants off any other monitor I have seen (granted I haven't been in the hardware game in a while):

Celeras you posted this in another [closed]thread. What DX10 elements are you referring to as being in FFXIV? First actual confirmation I've heard of this.

Not much difference, my old CPU is probably bottlenecking the lower resolution. Making initial leaderboard now, will update in a minute.

Is Rivatuner a thing of the past for most people? Admittedly, it doesn't announce load, but I suspect that's only because I didn't set it up to. Otherwise, it functions the same way in every other aspect. MSI's overlay is actually Rivatuner software also.

I use rivatuner for FPS but it's such a headache to setup.

Never said it wasn't doable with DX9, in fact that was the very question. (First post on this page)

It's like BFBC2 using DX11 elements but still being a DX10 game.

Well, during the next beta phase rivatuner should be able to tell us if DX10 is being used at all. It doesn't report it at the title screen, even when AO is checked.
