Sorry, feel the need to defend the i7 860 a little. First off, it's a fantastic chip (as mentioned above) for price-to-performance ratio. It sits right at that sweet spot where it still preforms admirably, but before prices start shooting up exponentially for smaller performance gains. Also, running the benchmark with an ATI 5850, the 860 hovers between 25-50% usage (mostly stays within 30-35%) -- there is plenty of overhead to push that chip harder without any kind of overclock.
I'm not saying it's the best, it isn't. But in terms of being a smart purchase, one can do far worse.
