Anyone else having problems with the damage boost from Tricorne? Seems like it is only giving +5 base dmg rather then +10, tested it a few times and it was the only way I could account for the damage loss.

Just tested naked with just my gun, Corsair's Tricorne +1 is adding the expected +10 damage to Ice shot on Wild Rabbits. Dunno about NQ.
just throwing this out there, were you using an element opposite of whatever current day it was? /shrug
Was using day/weather neutral elements to take out less factors, I'll go test again with 0 mab to take out everything I can from affecting it.
cor/nin iceday no mab no staves hat, Magnatus 46 dmg + steel bullet 70 dmg + hat 10 dmg = 126 x2 = 252 dmg, did 242, 232 without hat
Bought a NQ corsairs gun off AH to test, same results, should be 242 dmg, did 232 with hat. Also tried with shark gun, same results again.
Edit: Was using Earth shot in spiders to test.
So you are using earth shot on an earth based mob?
Meh 2 stacks of earth cards on me for ballista.
There's your problem. You don't add the +10 damage from the hat before you multiply by 2. You add the +10 damage after all other calculations are done. That's why you're overestimating your expected damage by 10, you're adding 20 for AF hat.
Edit: For clarity, what you should be doing is 46 Magnatus + 70 Steel Bullet = 116 x 2 = 232 + 10 = 242, which is exactly what you got.
It's already been answered, but to be even more specific..
[2 * (Gun base DMG + bullet base DMG + Corsair's Tricorne bonus)]
This is your damage formula before all the percentage increases.. The wiki is misleading in saying it "enhances the base damage by 10." It is +5, which (as with the Gun and Bullet damage) gets doubled.
and actually, some monsters do take less damage from certain elements, such as ghosts will always take half damage from ice.![]()
Ah I see, that's a little beyond misleading when it says the hat bonus is 10 then![]()
