FFXIV Random Speculation/Question thread III: Where's my beta invite?

On another note, I hope there's more a more 'mature' feel to the game than FFXI. Maybe some more blood, or something like that. XI felt like I was stuck in a PG daytime show sometimes.

I remember an old interview implying there might be something like this, fueling many speculation about RMT. I still hope not, but considering they are already doing it indirectly in FFXI, and how succesful it is in other mmo, I would be surprised if there was nothing of the sort in FFXIV.


About blood and gore, it wouldn't fit FF setting very well. Leave that to other MMO and keep the fantasy elements strong instead.

Blizzards shown the rest of the MMO developers out there just how lucrative micro transaction can be. It's going to be hard for SE not to try and dabble in it. Personally, I won't blame them if they do, as long as it's for vanity items, server transfers etc...

So far there's even -less- of a mature feel, at least concerning attacks. FFXI had that blood-like spark shit coming out on physical hits. FFXI has the old school pink/white sparks like FFIII. I haven't seen any moves, either from PCs or mobs, that releases anything that resembles blood.

Heck, there isn't even an injured animation, for when your health is terminal. Seriously, just imagine a pretty FFXI. That's FFXIV.

I can reply to whoever in the fuck posted what you stupid bitch (don't take my insults seriously). Besides, i'm probably the first person on these threads to say: "Unless you can change races while maintaining your character progression i don't see male Miqo'te or any new races being implemented later on.". That's besides the point though. I took the only relevant information which was the link itself and made a reply directly related to the information inside of the link, genious! Before you posted that link, i didn't know if it was possible or not to change races while not giving up your character progression in a mmorpg, any mmorpg so thanks for giving me and everyone else hope.

You can reply to any post, but if you disregard the quote and decide to go with sarcasm, your reply is likely to be off topic. Point is, the guy implied it couldn't be done, when it can be done, and has been proven to be a succesful model in the past.

Can anyone recommend a good keyboard and mouse for the playstation 3? I don't want to play with the game controller. I have a bluetooth mouse but I'm not sure if that will even work with the Ps3.

Any usb keyboard will work, I assume most usb mice will work as well.

Maybe this is the wrong mindset to start a brand new game with, but I hope the /blist is a lot longer than the one in FFXI. I filled mine up with shout tards and morons way to quick. having said that... Here's to hoping I won't need one at all! hugs to the new ffxiv community

So I just found out I got accepted for the beta testing on June 14th. However, I cannot seem to log in. I guess it had to do with that whole Members/Square-Enix ID thingy or whatever it mentioned. So I [think I] connected the Members account that got accepted to a Square-Enix ID. However, when I tried to log into the testing site, it said "You could not log in because the service account in question is not registered.
If you would like to log in to the service, please log in to the Square Enix Account Management System and register the service account."
So I went to the Square Enix Account Management System but I see nothing relevant.

Am I tired and just missing something very simple or what? Or am I somehow screwed?

I know you're not the only one in this situation, but I don't know if there is any solution. You probably had to log in during the alpha to complete the registration, and since it's over, you might have to wait until the beta start.


Right now, you're not missing much since the alpha is over, and the beta download isnt up.

This is wrong. There is no registration to complete. Every person who had this issue was either trying to log on too early or was using the wrong login info. A very small number of people had issues using some browsers as well.

Sagacious Sundi, make sure your using the right username and password, and try logging in with a variety of browsers. Theres no reason why your account isn't registered if you got in.
