No, they are supposed to be relatively the same, with your character choice based purely on aesthetics. Also as you have somewhat of a say in how you level up your stats, its kind of a moot point.

Well that's kinda nice then. I always wished there were male Mithras in XI, I so would have went that route cause I liked a lot of their stats better.

I also assume there is still a lack of male Mithra still and female Galka... of course I don't know of anyone that would want to be a female galka.

This is just rumored, not confirmed afaik (no male mithra is true, for now, anyway, but no one has seen a male mithra NPC in game either)

They confirmed they'll exist but as playable or NPC was undecided, however it's quite clear it will be NPC fare since they won't be there at release or they'd showcase them since they showcase male/female for every race that has one.

I figured I'd be the same way, but once I got into the game and started messing saying these names was just as natural as saying the XI names. I think it will be that way at first, but unless people are so bullheaded that they won't bother to learn the new names, XI races won't stick around long I'd imagine.

Why be more macho? I don't think it suits the feline theme to make it into a bigger build... just reminds me of buff cat.

I wouldn't describe Lehko as a travesty at all, he portrayed a lot of what I expected and hoped a male mithra would be, given the characteristics of the female mithra.

Nothing wrong with buff cats. Rei from BoF 3, Tigya from BoF 2 and Cray from BoF 4 were all buff cats, and each kicked severe ass.

Mithra males should be more like the Woren tribe.

I have a few friends who've never played XI. And plenty of other people who've never played XI. Pretty sure the names for XIV will stick with them.

I wouldn't want to play as a male mithra but i'll be playing as a female one in XIV. i dont think they could pull it off to look right. imagine female galkas... you can't. I saw the male mithra npc from wotg and he was just weird looking... so yeah, no thanks

There've been plenty of feminine and believable concept sketches floated around for a female Galka. It's really neither difficult to imagine, nor would it be that unpopular.

There's little doubt it would be one of the least popular, but that doesn't mean unpopular. The poll you're using isn't even accurate-- it's for Roegadyn, which is actually nearly twice as popular as Galka was in XI. Vanadiel census has shown that Galka only make up 5% of player characters.

Bottom line is, it's all about the character design. If you can't see more than a handful per server, that's because you can't see an appealing version of it.

Inaccurate? If Vana census has shown galka are about 5% of the population...and Roe are nearly twice as popular...and account for about 11% of the poll...ya. Gewd maf.

I'd still have a hard time imagining even 1/10 of those players choosing female realistically. Which would leave it at an abysmal % of the total population. The only reason manthras would be a popular choice is because the majority of the player base is male, thus further reducing the number of people likely to choose a female character to begin with.

Not having female Roe as an option leaves it a moot point though.

Galka's look much better this time around, pretty sure they will also be more popular as well. And the fact galka's aren't as popular makes em all that more awesome imo
