Originally it was to help prevent the use of 3rd party tools.
Nvm...
Happening to me too. So, how long until we can expect a XIV windower?
Either my sarcasm meter is broken or it's getting retarded around here.
Time to start ripping out the windows key again?
Shit, same deal for me. You've gotta be kidding, SE. Alpha wasn't this way, so why would they backpedal?
You can run the game in windowed mode that works perfectly on certain resolutions and still needs adjusting on others. atm windowed mode is locked.. so if you set it to 19200x1200, and it turns out to not be positioned on the screen properly, you can't move the window around to fix it. Like on my 19200x1200 you can see the window boarder on the top of the screen.
You need to go into ffxiv.config and set the in game settings
There was no full screen in the alpha. It's shit coding and should be fixed.
Didn't we spend years laughing about spaghetti coding in FFXI? It's not that big of a deal now, as its beta, but it kinda give me the chills thinking that maybe, just maybe, something this stupid will make it to launch and the groans will start all over again.
So if the beta has bugs, it's spaghetti code all over again? Come on now.
When asked about allowing for skill/gear swaps on class change somebody from S-E said something along the lines of "we found more minuses than pluses with allowing that, but if that's what players want we're open to implementing it." Not an exact quote but that's why some people think they won't be there. I fully believe that they will be there by release as there are absolutely no minuses to allowing them. The only thing preventing their implementation is S-E laziness.
I don't think S-E is so stupid that they would make the same colossal mistake about windowed mode again. I hope.
dunno why everyone wants to alt tab, you can basically run it in a window the size of your monitor and got to other progs wo alt tab. And yeha i heard they didnt have alt tab because they wanted to reduce 3rd party progs, which actually made it slightly harder, but of course people made work arounds.
oh yeah back to changing class fast, i dont really see the problem with it. long as people dont try to go retarded with it. battles are pretty fast paced so missing 3 seconds is generally not worth it, but now that tp degrades slower, maybe they may have some uses, still its disengae do whatever re engage, so its like 5-7 sec, in which time you prolly could have done something faster. for non melee maybe its more useful, say rng to blm, but you still porolly be better off just taking the skills you want from one and putting it on other job, since you will still have same stats, bar gear bonuses.
