FFXIV Random Speculation/Question thread III: Where's my beta invite?

Did anybody happen to notice if there was any kind of server select, or is it still auto-assign to world?

Don't really wanna do trial&error just to play with my friends in beta.

Looks like the game is running quite well with a lot of people on screen, duno what his PC is like though I suppose, wish he would stop using the mouse for everything aswell.

Yeah the beta handles PC's a lot better it seems.

Well, the more people that use mouse and aren't satisfied with it, the higher chance for SE to fix it. The camera needs more work too. It should just turn at max speed and not accelerate after a while, makes it seem sluggish.

Good to see that they've added weather effects (this wasn't in Alpha right?)

Iirc, his/her pc is Core I7860 Radeon HD5850, didn't say the ram..I dunno about the core number specifically, and it's on low settings.

I'm confused about how Guildleves work, can someone provide more info?

After you finish a guildleve can you repeat it? or get a new one?

Basically my question is this; If I feel like soloing can I keep plowing one guildleve after another for hours on end, or is it like FoV in FFXI where there is some dumb time limit where I can only do one an hour and then I have to go back to fighting the 200 other newbies in the zone for bunny spawns?

1 every 2 hours, its not dumb you get rewards and money for doing them.

If you want to gain XP just go kill stuff on your own.

You can solo one of each. Then you look for a partner and duo/trio/15-man more leves.

I just noticed that is earth time days aswell, that does seem slightly excessive.. hopefully they will have plenty of leves to choose from.

Yeah, its been changed to every 2 real life days now, which I think is a bit daft unless there are a gazillion levequests to do.

I know Im not really helping much but to add on guildleves (never actually played FFXIV) but if each leve has a 2 day cooldown I assume you can get all sorts of different leaves just each individual leve has a cooldown. (Please confirm cause I have no idea lol)

Well there's a lot of leves, but most casuals complained about only having 30 minutes a day to play and can't do shit in FFXI, so amount of leves will last a long time that 2 days won't even matter to repeat a said leve.

I was hoping that was a miss type. Maybe they don't have enough leves ready for people to be spamming them every 2hrs. (O so this is just for repeating them?)

One day might be enough ya, but it depends on just how good are the rewards for helping someone else out with their leve.
