Edit: Fanfon, torrent it. Its much faster. Use their official torrent, then delete your old folders and let it patch and update everything brand new.

so we have no clue how limited the "limited time" is for the Buddy Pass? A week? Thinking of buying regular and CE both. Get the googles and hat and then giving the regular pack to a friend so he can play for 30 days.

But if CE already has a free 30 day trial buddy pass I might reconsider...

This is because you have 2 versions of the same file on your computer.

One is saved in Documents/My Games etc the other is saved in Users/<your pc name>/downloads.

No, its not the cap thats the problem. At a 30 FPS cap the GPU load still shouldn't be 100%. Without those two settings checked the GPU load is only 35%.

whats the gpu load w/only ambient occlusion and not depth of field?

Yeah there's no specifc information on how long the limited time is, but I think we can assume that it will be a 14-day or 30-day trial.

you yoink a .torrent file from

Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\downloads\ffxiv-beta\d96437e6\metainfo

and open it up in utorrent, then drag the downloaded file somewhere else. I didn't have to use utorrent though.

It's more of a tutorial now. You kill stuff like this, if you die this happens, etc. Game feels alot smoother now, too. Less lag, and the combat is much better.

People have mixed results..for example updatiing this client I had better results in the client itself than on Utorrent, but sometimes I had better results with Utorrent during Alpha.
