ARMOR SETS. WHERE?! HOW DO THEY WORK?!
ARMOR SETS. WHERE?! HOW DO THEY WORK?!
Japanese input from the English client works with Windows IME for Japanese enabled:
EDIT: picture removed.
I tried to hit reallocate, only removed one stat at random... didn't spend more time on it.
I...didn't have problems with Skewer. I had more issues with Concussive Blow than Skewer.
Skewer fails. Can't wait to get moonrise again, or even doomspike.
That was an amazing 4 hours. Last hour was amazing, 0 lag what so ever for me, everything was very fluid. Only one complaint, its hard to tell if a monster will own you or not.. Yes, they have those circles by them, blue to red, but a blue owned me pretty hard once, and i've gotten the same EXP from blue's and red's... Odd. I only took a few shots in the beginning of the test, fraps decided to not take screenshots anymore and i didnt want to alt-tab to fix it lol.
admin: removed as per nda
I really wish they'd introduce the friends list to promote more people partying together. There's like no XP loss when you party, and it would help spread people out and give more back for their buck when group-killing mobs instead of soloing everything around.
Edit: Oh yeah, trying to run away from a mob is horrible. So clunky. You wind up hitting the active button one time too many and your toon comes to a COMPLETE stop while you put your weapon away, then pull it back out, then put it away, and you're dead.
Trying to take off the lock is a bitch as well when trying to run away from behind. They have to clean that stuff up before launch, and CERTAINLY before end-game, or we're going to have another boring set of bosses to look forward to. Freedom of movement is kinda clunky as it is right now, especially when you're losing speed by staying active, but having to come to a complete stop when disengaging.
Anyone foresee problems with them removing almost all of the weapons and armor from the vendors in town? In alpha, once you reached level 10 or so you had to upgrade your armor so the new mobs wouldn't rape your skull in. There is absolutely nothing to buy in town now. I also couldn't find any weapons except for the three 13-18ish weapons in Thundersticks. Not having a weapon upgrade from 1-18 as a gladiator sucks terribly.
If they did this because they want us to craft our own weapons and armor, removing local guildleves and only letting us do 3 battle leves every 48 hours makes this almost impossible. How are we supposed to level a crafting class without the local leves and a severe lack of gil from battle leves? After I got to physical 10/8 gladiator I went to try the level 10 battle leves and got my shit stomped in because I didn't have new armor. Ended up abusing the system and kiting the mobs to the Camp and using the Aetheryte in the middle of combat to heal myself over and over.
Yeah I wanted to kill some sheeps and puks![]()
skill points = total skill proficiency gained from that mob.
proficiency shows when you're fighting the mob, but if it doesn't die, then all that proficiency is not actually gained. If it is killed (even by someone else after you're KOed right next to the mob, strangely) you will receive the skill points from that mob.
quite a few new mobs seen..
mole, goobue, swarm, firefly...
This man speaks of wisdom. Please post this on the official forums. I've already submitted a post about the lack of armor/weapons there.
Its one thing to encourage crafting, but there needs to be alternatives TO crafting. If someone wants to grind for money to buy the gear from a shop, they should have that right. Heck, the mats for crafting are strewn all over town as it is, and its a lot of leg work to pick up what you need, and if you're out of crafting leves, you seriously won't even have the money to buy the mats to MAKE the gear.
I feel like they've taken some big steps forward, but quite a few steps back as well with this Beta.
HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
I love you, I am so fucking excited about this, words can not explain, even if they screw up some of the gameplay features I was worried about I can rest easy now knowing that this is finally in. The BS in FFXI was completely unacceptable, having to play on PC with unofficial Windower, so happy. It's probably way too much to hope for to be able to enable JP input in the NA PS3 version, but this makes me tremendously happy, best news from beta or alpha yet! Now just hope to god this isn't just in here because it's beta and won't be removed for some stupid reason before the retail.
Holy excited weeaboo alert Batman.
Mining improved so much, now actually you kinna know what you should look for
Overall awesome test phase. Theres a few minor bugs (chat box jumping around, weird lag spikes, etc) but hopefully that will get ironed out as time goes on.
Some pics I took during the test phase.
Spoiler: show
So happy I don't even care about the slight. Do you have any idea how annoying it is to speak Japanese and not be able to input characters? I'm very happy about this, and was very frustrated that it was perfectly easy for Japanese players to input Roman characters (obviously it makes no sense if they can't ) and yet impossible for us to input Japanese characters.
This was my question during E3 that didn't get answered, and this to me is a huge deal, that just got confirmed via that post, so yeah I'm excited!
Well, that was interesting.
With lowish settings, my FPS was decent. Didn't parse it, but it was much better than Alpha. Slight chop in groups, but nothing close to the hit I'd get before. Looks pretty, caught details, saw flying airships. Despite low specs, more than runnable.
Character creation got decently close to my actual face. I think my cheekbones are higher and my eyes more listless than what the game allows. Guardians have the wrong number month in a few places.
Questing much simpler, though admittedly improved due to prior experience. Opening much more interesting and epic with the music. After the boat, still somewhat boring, but as a starting chain, serves its purpose.
Was a Midlander PUG. Light Strike/Heavy Strike made defense/offense active instead of passive. Once I hit 4, actually got Haymaker to work regularly. Didn't have time to try other jobs, probably won't for a while. Surprised Action points so low, but seemed to go up with level.
Leves, in and of themselves, pretty much the same. Couldn't get Guardian's Favor to work or was some passive effect I didn't notice. Never lost points, so betting on the former.
Just like in the Alpha, normal mobs are better than leves for leveling up, but much less safe. Wharf Rats were the mob of choice at 1 and up, but few in number. Hoping to upgrade by Tuesday.
Got Retainer, unloaded one thing, didn't activate bazaar. Seemed pointless this early.
Mob placement drastically different, addition of new mobs not mentioned in articles surprising. Needs more low level mobs new entrance of Limsa and surrounding areas in a large radius.
Overall, looking forward to Tuesday and more abilities to test.
the intro CS also feels so much better with some form of background music..
the vocal part made my hair stand lol in spite of the fact that ive watched it like dozens of times now
