Anyone wish they'd kept the camera controls on the directional arrows? They mentioned they'd be adjusting keyboard and camera controls, but it's a pain in the ass right now especially with the lag I'm getting.

Sorry if this can't be answered due to NDA policy but I was wondering if anyone got to see what kind of bonuses the guardian deity does give you during leves, I remember someone mentioning a stat increase but did not go into details as to which stat was increased. It would seem logical that elemental resistance would be raised since they are all associated to one element but I was wondering if there was more to it. SE mentioned in an interview they would allow us to change our guardian deity in the future so one's to believe the choice we make is somehow important....
Also I fail to see Thaumaturge as this big "powerhouse" SE described on their website.... I've looked around and it seems most of their abilities are mixed of enfeebling/enhancing.... I am sure I am missing a lot on this class (mostly because I can hardly find any infos about the job) but if someone could clarify or add some info on it, it'd be great.
Happy beta!
The battle is def less buggy, haymaker works, different skills have different stamina charges, ie haymaker is less than even a regular attack, concussive blow is like 1.3 times the stamina of a regular attack. you can overall attack faster, honestly its not that much faster than before, id say like 1.2 times faster, but without input lag, and you can stack attacks a lil bit.
One thing im not exactly sure of but it seemed like i was double attacking on pug sometimes, ie hitting 4 times, its possible it was just due to spam, but im not sure cause generally you have a standard cooldown even if you have the stamina.
you definately got less skill ups per mob, a good fight being 1000 to a good fight being 300. Its fast paced, but until you get higher it is of course not as exciting.
About leves, ehhh I dunno why people are saying they cant level up without leves they dont give you any more exp than fighting regular mobs, i can see saying you need more cash from leves but exp? nah. There were a lot of mobs to fight, if you wandered, looks like warf rats are always by any road so you can wander out forever just killing low rats till your like 5 or 6. The best way to go when leveling doesnt seem to be toward camp bloodshore now though, the mobs jump in difficulty a lot there. id go the other way, has a better gradation id say.
Fun system, could give longer quests, or more involved story/leves so as to feel more goal oriented and less senseless killing.
btw someone mentioned less tp gain, but i think its the same, its just that tp gain seems partially dmg based, and right now the dmg is weak.
It's probably already been said. But boob sizes are a factor of face type. This seems to apply to Hyur and WildWood Elezen at this point (according to ascalon)
EDIT: had to remove pictures:![]()
Right, and then everyone who is logged in is killing wharf rats. With leves you don't have any competition. Maybe your server had a low population. If they replaced all the aldgoats and dodos around bearded rock with wharf rats then just wandering around killing them might work out for everybody.
Is there such thing as a FFXIV beta key? I already have the 20 digit one for registering FFXIII for PS3, but I acquired a 12 digit one that's suppose to be a beta key. I don't know where to put it in though or if it's even legit.
actually from what i saw, elezen had 1 small boob size, maybe it depends which type you choose before the face type.
from what i saw human had a different size for every face type, but none were that big, elezn had only 1 smaller chest size, but their standard is decent sized. miquote had no changes at all when i looked.
I'm pretty sure the first type you select is the skin/texture. for the face this can generate some different looking faces even with the same geometry. not sure what all the details on some were, may have been stuff blocked by other things. the rest is pretty straight foward i think, definately need more hairs on some classes, like highlander, and could use more options overall for the big things like hiar and face types
Yeah several of the Characteristics weren't too noticable.
For example, Elezen Female characteristic 1 --- no idea what that one does.
I can see the guildleves staying the way they currently are, It makes sense than come release the game should be more difficult, most of the money made in FF11 was through farming and crafting.
It seems to me the Alpha testers have had it so easy and now they have had the carpet pulled from under them.
I think once things kick off with people selling stuff on retainers and the crafting leves being added it won't seem so bad.
Just watched that video and got 2 questions.
What does the kind od day of the moon and guardian actually do in the game, anyone know yet?
Im just saying, i noticed the rats are everywhere along the road, if you stay where other people are you definately will have nothing to kill, and the road is really really long.
If you go towards bloodshore, your only options are rats beetles and chigoes
however if you go north from bearded rock you got beetles rats rat moles sewer mole? i think was its name. the ewe cotton ball lamb thing, i think spriggans pop too but that may have been someones leve. groups can handle more midlevel stuff, honestly i think the problem with soloing is when you reach those crossover levels where your not quite strong enough for x, but y is a lil too weak. But groups have a lot more options i would assume
@jollipop
yeah i think leves would defeat the purpose if everyone could do it all the time, however they are pretty fun, and two days seems a bit excessive, maybe 1 day. for now it doesnt matter cause we can play every day, but i think the idea is for people to have something to do at least every day if they want.
Me too... but I think the system will work better in higher levels and when people adapt to the new system.
However, because the initial reaction is important I think some changes should be made for low level leves. Possibly rank 1-10 leves changing every 2h, rank 11-20 leves every 4h, and from there on every 2 days.
Something like that. I'm not sure what they mean by that one sentence in the "to-do" list though.. let me dig it up
I guess something about going back to town to get the leves, then to the aetheryte to activate them?- The steps required to acquire and activate a levequest will be shortened
Yeah it's kind've a shock to be honest.
I really hoped it wouldn't be so ludicrously hard to make money this time around. I wasn't loaded during the Alpha, but I had enough to buy a decent set of equipment and maybe upgrade it every few levels. I thought that was a fine rate of financial return.
