Adrenalin going...... someone grabs a officer, the first reaction is to protect their duty weapon and get the person away from them. This is usually why you will see a officer push away the person, or break free and back away to either withdraw mace/taser/firearm. A right hook to the face is........ a little extreme, but it looked like it was well in his right as a officer to do so.

I'll concede that he may have been "in his right" (although I still feel that's contentious given how meager the "assault" was), but it's plainly obvious the officer's way of handling things was both extreme and ironically, more dangerous. If these really were two dangerous suspects, throwing a punch left him wide open for the other to grab him or his weapon, and then things start getting really ugly.

not to mention, punching someone in the face (especially a woman) is a fan-fucking-tastic way to get a crowd very, very upset.

    Not a smart cop.

Uh, gimme the punch in the face instead of mace/taser/firearm. Call me crazy...but wouldn't a punch be far less extreme than the latter?

    Bitch got lucky really.

There was no reason for the women to struggle against him the first place if it were just jaywalking. Struggling and resisting is very very stupid. It really doesn't matter what the crime is, or how minor you think it is, don't struggle and police officers won't punch you in the face.

I was at a bus stop about a year ago and there were a bunch of teenagers and cops around. I have no idea what brought the cops out. Suddenly two of the girls started screaming and the police officers wrapped them up and walked them to the paddywagon. They screamed and struggled and fought the entire way.

Girls always struggle because they think that either someone else will come to their rescue, or that the male officer won't really arrest them and physically constrain them because they are girls.

If this had been a man, white or black, he'd have probably been put over the hood of the car, cuffed, and deposited in the back seat.

I'd say the girl is lucky she didn't get tased... I'm pretty dang sure that tasers are far more painful than even a punch to the face.

Anyhow, holy crap I live in Seattle and jaywalk all the time. Everybody does lol. Time to start looking out for cops before I do.

Depends..... you could be immune to the mace, small population of people are I guess. Even more fun if you encounter someone who is immune to mace, and you don't carry a taser >.>

As for other comment, it got the person who was grabbing him off him..... one problem solved for a few seconds, i'm sure at the same time if the other female took a grab at him at that point (which I will agree, his weapon was on full view to her) she would've been slugged as well.

Also note, most standard issue duty firearm holsters are not easy to pull a weapon out of unless your wearing the belt.

    *edit*

and just gotta say...... if I have the option of having a 18-40 year old female, or a 18-40 year old male on drugs to resist arrest. I'd gladly pick the male, females are the worst.

It's because women are cowards and even though they say they want equality, god help you if you hit one for being a stupid bitch.

I don't think any old guy should hit a woman for "being a stupid bitch", but then I don't think anyone should hit anyone for being stupid.

Attacking someone or resisting arrest like in the video are probably good reasons to get clobbered, man or woman.

its a legitimate question: should women get hit for doing the same things that get men hit?

I think a man should be able to defend himself regardless if it's a man or a woman and vice versa. However physically assaulting a woman unwarranted as a man is another argument with many many variables.

Tazers kill people on fluke chances... I would hardly feel getting punch is extreme compared to being zapped at 50,000 volts (let alone the 1% chance of me dying). Although I wouldn't put my hands on an officer over a jaywalking citation.
