Im sure you dont remember me, but i remember you getting TH4 before me and thf was my main job i had been playing for 2 years when i saw you leveling in caedarva, lol. I had full heca before i had TH4 :/ drop rates suckzor. Anyways last i remember you died everytime i ran by in caedarva, i always through i was bad luck to you or something. Wasnt your main ranger?

Anyways, i was ok with FFXI but it sucked that it drove my RL friends away from it. We could play as just us 3, but we really couldnt get all that far with events or anything.

Up until now I was rather sure I would play this game when it came out. But I started thinking about the game when I laid down last night and a scary thought crossed my mind. I am a very competitive person and want the best of the best. Thus I spend a lot of time in games like this. If I actually do play this game, it would be like throwing away the next 5-10 years of my life. I'm not where I want to be in my life and there is no way this would help, despite how much I convince myself that I could limit my playtime.

I have. The first thing I did when I quit XI was buy a motorcycle. I've been learning bits and pieces about the maintenance involved, and it's great. It would be nice if people would stop pegging me as a target though.. day in day out there's always at least one dumbass that wants to run me over.

I too am very worried I'll sink too much time into this game, but with my new found hobby it shouldn't be as bad. Not to mention class will be taking up a lot of my time.. what with the hour commute in one direction and all..

There's no way in hell I can fight the urge to play, so I'm not even going to try.

I moved on to attend university rather than being clueless of what to do in life when I was playing FFXI during my first year of college

Life is good now. However, that doesn't mean that I won't play FF14 I just need to control my play time haha!

Im waiting for someone to file a claim against SE(if they havnt already) to say theyre responsible for someone growing up a losaahhhh. Especially once they legitimize 'video game addiction'

Although the article recently on kotaku says SE is going to be integrating some kind of social networking into all their games. Facebook upon login? Oy... last i remembered i logged into a video game to get away from 'normal' society.

Well I kind of look forward to when they classify MMORPGs as an addictive and unhealthy product. As with cigarettes, MMORPGs will become illegal for minors.

I quit FFXI back in July last year, but the only reason I did was because the linkshell I had been in for a long time broke apart and all my closest friends went on to other games. Just had no desire to join a new linkshell and start from scratch again. I really did enjoy everything about the game still (probably because I haven't done kings since feb 07), so I didn't quit out of dislike. Heck, I even met my boyfriend through that linkshell that fell apart lol

I'm definitely gonna give 14 a try for sure, not sure about my bf though since he really hated FFXI at the end there.

There was a 8 year old boy in my city who committed suicide because their parents took away his xbox 360. The boy was addicted to a shooting game ("Call of Duty", I think?) and the parents tried to sue the company for his addiction. The case was dismissed (I can not recall the reason, but I assume that it was due to the lack of evidence).

Hmm, I might be mixing several memories together here, but were you in Kanojo or some other dynamis ls while in Exodus? If my thinking is correct, then that's our connection. I don't remember if we were in Exodus together or not, but if we were it was only for a short time. They kind of deleted my name, so I can't check when I joined them.
