I have a Samsung SyncMaster 915n. I got it used from a friend and it has worked good for a year. But lately it will randomly turn off and display a message saying "Not optimum mode, recommended 1024x768 60Hz", or something close to that. I do have it set to that resolution, and Hz.
Now I have Googled my ass off about it, but haven't found much, I'm mostly looking for random ideas here. I know I can unplug it for 5-10min and it will come back, but its very hard to play/watch anything when it randomly shuts off every 1-4hrs.
I have taken it apart and checked all the capacitors and looked for anything abnormal. I have tried different VGA and power cables, video cards, computers, hell everything I can think of.
It seems to happen more often when it is hot in the room, but even being in the direct path of my window unit it still happens. Just recently I took my hardware acceleration to the lowest setting and I can't get it to come back at all.
I don't have the money for a new monitor and really need to keep using this one.
If you think there might be a problem on the inside, give me what to look for and I will rip the bastard apart.
Thanks
