Aha! I thought it might be a typo or something like that.
Now, any suggestions on what illness to feign for calling in sick to work on Tuesday? I'm considering a migraine headache.

Why, whatcha gonna do during the first emergency patch on Tuesday?
(In a nutshell,) HIPAA states that your employer isn't allowed to ask you what you have, you can call and state "I'm sick" and leave it at that. They are not legally allowed to ask you what you have, and if they do, you can sue them, so win-win for you if they do!![]()
Just tell them you have diarrhea from some food that didn't sit well with you. No one asks further questions.
No point, servers wont be up until 2-5 hours after their set times.
Sick days are a tricky matter.
My previous job allowed 3 or 5 sick days per year before you ran out.
My current job doesn't have a set limit of sick days - but they reserve the right to demand a doctor's notice if they feel your abusing it somehow.
I haven't called out sick once in three years at my job, amazingly.
I've left early a couple of times because I didn't want to be there and "felt sick".
I got sent home once by the boss because I was a wreck with the flu and still went in.
One other time I asked to go home because I was kinda still drunk and nauseous from the night before. I called it food poisoning though.
"Can't come to work. Bat Signal"
It could work.
Speaking of sick, that's how I'm feeling right now, but I have to teach today so it kind of blows.
My job does Sick and Vacation days all in one :/ Most places have started doing this. Makes me sad.
My job gives 30 vacation days a year up to 60 maximum and 7 sick days per year, and some people here still call out sick instead of using vacation days.
Where do you work that gets 30-60 vacation days a year and where can I apply?
Work from home and you dont have to worry about it.
At my old job at GMAC(got laid off lol fuck you GMAC), I got 7 PTO hours per pay period. That's 4.5 weeks of PTO a year.
Well, that sucks. You need at least 4 weeks of time off for the body to relax and rewind fully.
Hence why the 'lazy American' stereotype cracks me up sometimes.
I'm in Academia, and I agree that you need much longer than 2 weeks to unwind. A lot of the time I hear "But you get summers off!". 1 - I usually teach summers to make extra money and 2 - you deal with students all year long and tell me you don't need a good sized chunk of time to unwind and not think about school.
