ah, good old rebranding... so I guess its just going to flash some other color lights when it breaks now?
I'm only on my 2nd 360 currently, I kinda hope it breaks so I can force microsoft to replace it with a slim although I doubt they'd do that for free.
Now people are going to be talking about the "silver ring of death". The disc scratch issue is much worse it seems.
Yeah so nothing changed, except the indicator that tells you if your system is fucked?
More at eleven.
that's the part that really baffles me about the redesign, they first show it vertical and the sloped front makes it seem like it's supposed to be kept that way, although that way makes it much more prone to falling over and eating your games than even the first generation 360s were.
I still don't get the point of keeping your systems vertical in general, I guess it saves space but that wouldn't even be necessary if they weren't trying to one-up eachother with weird ass chassis shapes. The only system I have vertical is the Wii, and that's only because I don't plug in gamecube controllers on top... otherwise I'd be yanking that shit down all the time.
uh... I just said I doubt they'd do that, lol. Chances are they'll either fix your system or replace it with another old style one until they run out, or maybe replace it with a refurbished one. After that I'm not sure, but I don't see them just giving away slims for free.
rofl. For a second I thought they've fixed the issue for good.
They fixed the issue with the disc getting scratched when you move the console. They put a sticker on the front that says not to move it.
Red Ring got replaced by red dot that appears in the center of the ring. ;/
Goodbye RRoD, hello RDot!

it red dots now instead of red ring, the power symbol in the center lights up red in the case of hardware failure
RDoD!
That has to be the most pointless piece of news ever. They're redesigned the RRoD, Yeah nice one Microsoft.
-edit: meh.. posted in different thread
summation, or tl;dr for the lazy:
4 years later, microsoft fixes the problem.
"We fixed the red ring of death! It's a dot now!"
