To be frank, if you've never enjoyed them before I wouldn't expect this one to sway you. From what I've read, the mechanics are largely similar to the previous ones and this one just keeps doing the AC formula right.

Oh I don't expect there to be anything new or unique to this release that does it, other than the fact that it is on the 3DS. I honestly just don't think I have given the franchise a fair shake, enough time, etc. I really am tempted to this time though. The launch hype isn't going to help this weekend/next week either! We'll see.
If you really want to enjoy it, I highly suggest (a) finding someone else to frequently play with, and (b) not burning yourself out on it. The game is 90% time-sink, so you gotta' let it simmer instead of playing yourself into a wall every night. You can get around it by fucking with your system clock (time-traveling), but that entirely defeats the purpose of the game. Just check in, pull a couple weeds, buy anything new/cool in the stores, catch any fish/bugs that look new, water your flowers, dig up a few treasures, and save your money. It's just much more enjoyable when you also have someone to visit or be visited by.
Also, making your townspeople wear shirts with hairy ballsacks drawn on them is hilarious.
Noted for future use. I do have a couple friends that will likely have the game. I actually think it is something my daughter would love too but she only has a crappy ass DS Lite! Loser. Hmm, I may have to fix that problem of hers.
I am actually relatively new to the 3DS myself, having nabbed it for MH. I love it though so far, even if it isn't white, or black, or white.
I always liked naming my constellations vulgar/juvenile things, then visiting their town and then laugh when their townspeople start referring to it.
I love finding that one animal in my town that I fucking hate; making them say self-depreciating things, dropping any and all trash all around their house, posting signs advertising their genital health issues, etc.

Then there's always the animal who's a total alpha that doesn't give a fuck and you do everything you can to keep them around and happy.

Most of the fun is in completing collections and basically being a perverted adult in the most contradictive type of game possible. (Yeah, I made a big 'ol dick constellation too... Boner Majora)
I'm gonna go ahead and agree with both of Mio's points. One of the biggest mistakes (at least in my personal opinion) people make playing the game is trying to do EEEEEEEVERYTHING all at once and sink in 6+ hours at a time. While you can totally pull that if you want, it's a really easy way to get burned out on the game, since there comes a point after a few hours where you're essentially just fishing up bags of fish and making bells just to make bells.
Having people/a community to play with helps immensely too, I don't think I would've ever gotten quite as far into the series as I did if I hadn't been playing alongside my younger brothers on the Gamecube.
You guys need to go post in the 3DS FC need more friends for Animal Crossing
Fire Emblem's difficulty is messed up beyond belief, it's either stupidly easy (Normal/Hard, everything does 0-5 dmg) or equally stupidly hard (Lunatic, pray to not get one shotted), Hard difficulty was fine up until chapter 5 where you get access to DLC, then it gets very easy :/
Oh, I've got every intention to add anyone on here that's playing AC. I just need to figure out who all that encompasses.
I suppose I could throw my FC in the stickied thread, or in my sig though. Just held off on it because apparently when it comes to adding people on PSN, it's too much to ask for people to say "xxx from BG" when they try to add me so that I don't reject it, and then send me angry PMs about it.
TBH animal crossing you don't always directly play with others so it's less bad But at lest you could laugh at my village
Somebody explain to me what you actually do in this game, lol. Just build a town?
You guys are so precious.
