I get to have the joy of not hearing " go sam/thf" " go sam/thf" " go sam/thf" " go sam/thf" " go sam/thf" " go sam/thf" out of 10 available jobs every day for several months straight. Even if i dont get picked first my nin and thf will enjoy this. Hell when i get things setup proper my whm is going to mystic boon it's way to 80.
I think that's more a problem with their shell then. My shell always attempts to cycle people so no-one is constantly one job 24/7. The only problem is there are times when someone whines and groans about how they gotta play BLM (or something) for a single run of something when they were [insert job with sharp object here] for the past 3 months.
At least, that's what I see more~
But still, like I said, those guys could just de-level their BRD so they won't be asked to come![]()
Not sure actually, never been an issue.
Either way, the fact these people leveled the job means the blame of having to come it falls on them. I think anytime you decide to level a job proper you should consider "oh shit do i actually want to play this endgame". I think all too much people just leveled BRD to get easy merits, then got stuck it for any event.
But yes to agree with what you said earlier, fuck those people who get to come WAR or SAM constantly.
Some people just like to level things. I know it's shocking--and I'm not being sarcastic there. With all the grinding and stupid people you find in today's exp parties, it's odd to think anyone would find it fun. But I've had a blast leveling a lot of jobs that I wouldn't use in a million years in endgame (coincidentally, bard is not one of them, I use that about half the time).
You wouldn't hear that if your DD were better than the other people's. Suck it up.
Putting a full usu, full meritted black belt mnk(or insert properly geared relic DD) on brd during dyna/ein is a crime. Putting an AH war or sam with dusk+1 and maybe speed/velocious belt on brd is not. I've gone BRD or COR to my shells events plenty on my main, even given I had fully geared/meritted WAR and DRK.. guess why? The other DD were better. Now that I've got a respectable MNK and SAM, it shifted. (Protip: I'm the leader, and I don't like BRD. Sup dynamics.)
I love when other people make my point for me.
I don't get it. I never bitched about playing BRD or COR if needed, because I recognized my linkshells other DD would beat my personal damage. Essentially everyone in my shell has BRD so it's not a matter of options, just optimization.
I'm not bitter, and I'm not going to nitpick anyone over BRD 75-80. The only reason I don't BRD any more is because my DD are now ahead of most of the people they used to be behind.
There's no reason to be mad about being stuck on BRD unless it's being done while inferior DD are on DD jobs.. in which case your shell's dynamics suck anyway.
Dynamis is probably the worst example to pick, really. I mean, how hard is it to get an AH DD to /assist on the proper mob, hit it, and beat it senseless with a WS macro along with the other DDs in the LS? Not very. Now if you're talking something like PW or AV or something similar, sure - bring out the very best firepower you got, and stick your gimps on BRD.
I understand your reasoning, Thorny, and I see it happen all the time. However, bear this in mind - your support in critical and difficult situations that actually require a brain beyond pressing a WS macro and /assist macro will often determine your success. A good, smart bard who assists the whms with -na spells, tosses in the occasional cure/curaga here and there, keeps their eyes peeled for sleeps can be invaluable. A good RDM, WHM, COR, SCHs, hell, even DNCs are worth their weight in gold. Shitty support gets you shitcanned fast. Shitty melee are less likely to fuck things up - notice I said LESS, but there you go.
If I have someone stupid who can't play a support job correctly despite whatever wtfbbq gear they have, I'd rather have them on a melee job than a support job, even if the melee job has shit gear, and their support job is wtf awesome.
Example: Relic holders who can't even use the relic to the fullest - e.g. terrible Amano Sams.
Dynamis is a perfect example. All the brd has to do is march+march and the occasional sleeps. Having your DDs be good DDs actually makes things go faster, which lets you clear more of the zone, and make more gil.
I'm perfectly aware of how dynamis is done, and I honestly don't think it requires a full usukane black belt monk or adaberk drk with an apoc or a yoichi SAM/RNG. Dynamis is NOT hard.
Again, I still stand behind the fact that it's the player, not the gear. A competent player can take an AH quality SAM and still perform well - a shitty player probably can't take a full salvage geared DD job and make it perform to the utmost. I'd rather have good support/tanks with decently geared melee, than shitty support/tanks, and uber but gimp in the head melee.
We have a RDM in my shell, who's been playing RDM for almost 6 years, and has 3/5 morrigans along with RDM refresh hat, and he is a bit lost at times when it comes to the idea of sleeping or enfeebling anything right off the bat. He's made better strides and has improved as of late, but for me, if you're playing a job for 6 years, I certainly hope you know how to play the damn job.
I still maintain - quality support is critical in shit that matters situations - and no, dynamis isn't shit that matters.
You seem to be confusing him talking about people with lesser gear and people who can't play their jobs.
If you are clearing dynamis with poorly geared DDs, you are taking too many people. If you aren't clearing it, then you could use better DDs.
I LOVE THIS POST! FUCK BRD!
My BRD is at least 35,000 exp from cap. I also dont remember how to level with random people. The only thing going for me is that I have Gjallarhorn. Shit's going to be rough.
So looks like it's time to take the BRD outfit out of the closet! yay!
I loved bard and I'll exp it as usual as much as I can. I don't have any DD job... maybe that's why >.>
it's obvious though that after someone exp-ed a job only for the utility of it and not because of the fun factor, ls will end up with tons of DDs and no support jobs...
I don't think that will be too much the case though... there's always someone who likes support more, isn't it?
Neither I. I'm certainly not looking forward the usual fools missing the songs lol and the novelty (for me) of pianissimo
It's also time for /anon over and over >.>
They must not know we have BRD75 and we like it. lol
