I'm a BRD 99% of the time as well. But like I said items can be sold/traded. So if you went with your LS and at least one person ranked high in your LS, the item can be traded to you if you wanted it for your other jobs. Just need to work that out with LS rules/points in the end. And honestly, I don't think they made anything for us BRDs this time.

WoE is currently the only known source. However, there are coin pouches in the dats. No one's found one so it's possible there's another source, but it's more likely (imo) that these are like alexandrite pouches and come from WoE too.

We got a pouch from the Slime one we did. Was Glory coin I think? It gave 3 coins if I remember correctly.

Hmmm. Did No. 3 - The Antlions. We were pulling one by one normally, successfully. We pulled an Albino Antlion and it wondered off, linking the others instead of following puller back to camp.

Perhaps there's a trick? Pulling the wrong one causes all other mobs to aggro and link?

There's 2 new paths for the max damage weapon: one which results in the Empyrean Weapon, which requires 50 drops from mobs in Abyssea, and another for people who did not buy the addon, which requires 30 coins.

So are we only getting gear drops off the main boss and coins from little guys + lots from the boss?

30 coins still sounds like a friggin pain, I don't even know if Id wanna do the abyssea or walk of echoes weapon >.<

If a single person sneaks in you didn't want, it is amazingly easy to wipe the entire zone. For example, in the antlion battle, the mobs continually run up the stairs -> around the second layer -> back downstairs. Currently, people camp at the base of the stairs of the first layer.

All someone has to do is run 15" to the side and aggro an antlion with shadows up, then get it up the stairs to the first layer before dying. As the antlion walks back, it will kill everyone in its path. It's complicated by the fact that there doesn't seem to be a safe camp away from the stairwell that the mobs use; the only place they don't wander around is the base of the first layer staircase. The only alternative is somehow killing fast enough that the alliance itself pushes down the layers, reaching the mobs before they get pulled up in waves. I think, anyway.

Do you need to actually do anything to be able to lot drops? Or could someone simply wait for people entering, and stand at entrance lotting stuff.

Just got done doing a run of Veridical Conflux #01. Made a few notes about the differences in the crabs in the fight. Already posted this on wiki also.

    Damask Crab (red crabs)

Will often cast Poisonga II and Waterga II fairly often. Suggested that DD's bring Antidotes. Poison does 10 HP per tic. Bubble Shower doesn't seem to do as much damage as the blue ones do.

    Cyanic Crab (blue crabs)

Able to cast Water III and Enwater. It's Bubble Shower does around 200-300 damage.

Both crabs appear to be immune or very resistant to sleep, gravity, silence, and bind. They both do the basic crab tp moves.

An idea for a strategy for fighting these is to have one person, with high magic defense and movement speed, to agroo pull them down stairs. The puller is expected to kite the mobs around the big tree in the middle of the room. Assign pullers to pull the blue ones off while the puller continues to kite. Be sure to not go to far out of where u spawn in from. Dying past the trees at times can have the crabs reagroo people that raise up and they will then agroo the rest of the people in the group. My group wasn't able to get to the Caldera Crab before time ran out.

This event sounds stupid like Einherjar, but I'm willing to wait and see how things develop once players start hitting 80. Hope this cool area won't go to waste.

Beat the slime one today, it was pretty easy. We kited the small slimes, and killed the large slimes. Once the large slime died, the small ones from around it died as well. We then had out kiters grab the small ones as they were incoming. After the 2nd big slime, the small ones didn't die, so our kiters were kiting 2 each, and they died after the 3rd big slime. Two small slimes didn't die, and the 4th big one didn't come, so we killed the 2 small ones, and then the large one decided to show up and we finished it off.

If you kill the small slimes and wipe, the large slime will repop them.

We got hmp/avatar mab pendant, a beech lumber, a heliodor (for hq soil ring) and 3 phygrian ore. Lost an ore and the lumber to randoms.

We also got the 1st-3rd place chests, but I'm not sure what drops those were; I can check on later.

So the trick to the battlefield is to kill the large targets, and have someone deal with the babies?

Sounds like Odin's Chamber with pets on a constant basis.

Its different for the other two; the crabs have a set number of mobs, and we're not sure if its timed or based on which crab you kill that triggers the next set coming (we had trouble again, so had someone run upstairs to see what it looks like, the crabs don't link, but randomly get set to aggro as groups of 3-4; the calderas are in a line in the back.

The antlions, it seems like its just a matter of pulling well; we were able to handle 4-5 of the small ones at the same time without issue.

despite it saying in the SE update notes that you have to wait 1 game day, you do not.

You can exit walk of echos and buy a new key item anytime you want. After each "chamber" is used up, you have to wait around 30 mins for the "enemies to repop" before you enter that same chamber again. Or you can choose another chamber from #1 #2 or #3. I think you have to beat those chambers before you can unlock #4 #5 and #6, then beat those to unlock the chamber in the back of the zone, #7.

The chambers are not random mobs. Its the same mob all the time with 2 bosses from what I seen so far. There is 2 sets of small mobs with different names.

Using chamber 1 as an example, there is 2 different small crabs. One has higher magic spells and bubble showers then the other. the 2 bosses are krabkotoa mobs. Each time you kill a mob, it drops a random temp item for everyone in the zone. We found it easier to kite/hold the mobs with all of our RDM/nins up top and fight the Big krab on the bottom.

To defeat him, we used "lucky organization" skills from our 6-8 stunners. We stunned with blade bash, weaponbashes, shield bashes, spell stun, and whatever we could each time a TP move or waterga III was about to go off.
He takes 0 dmg alot for whatever reason is unknown. He seems to take damage when casting a spell but i'm not sure. He always takes magic damage though. You win the chamber by defeating all the mobs including the small ones and 2(+) big ones. Was difficult clearing both with level 75s but at level 80 it seems very possible to do consistantly. You can spam these zones all night long in walk of echos.

Edit: I forgot to mention that the timer for the chamber does NOT start until you engage the first enemy. So you can gather up in the battlefield and wait for it to fill up. Also forgot to mention that the mobs have allied hate, so bringing in someone new that enters your zone then aggros a mob will screw you all over most likely

Posted up here on my blog but this is our experience

30 minutes in Walk of Echoes

Just wanted to post up about our brief experience in Walk of Echoes. I’ll add in some screenshots tonight, didn’t get a chance to upload them all last night.

12 of us went to try it and ended up with 3 others allianced, inside Walk of Echoes. I’m getting ahead of myself though

You need to be ‘on’ the Cait Sith mission. Mantra literally finished the mission before as we went and he could go straight in. You also need to have, or run through to get, access to Xarcabard [S].

If you op into Xarcabard [S]. Just down the slope from the Op and next to the cliff is the entry point. I forget what it’s called but it’s obvious. You click on it and get a cs with King Kupofried (moogle responsible for the mog tablets/ring).

It costs 1k to enter and each fight lasts up to 30 mins with no xp loss.

You go inside into a lobby area, the scenery is pretty breath-taking. Once inside you choose a battle field to enter by clicking on one of the numbered cruxes. We entered number 1.

Other people can enter too, there’s no restriction. I think this is a good/bad thing but it was welcome last night.

The battlefield was quite small, with stairs leading up to another platform. Mobs came in waves from different places and linked in. The only way to describe the battlefield was a cross between Promyvion and Riverne with more red lol. I will post pics.

The mobs were hard work even with 2 balanced parties and some additional dd. We killed a couple, then wiped to adds/AoE. Mobs reset and we killed some more. Did better but eventually they caught up with us and overwhelmed. We wiped again, one mob was close to Nia and he kited it with kitty pants whilst the rest of us recovered. The mobs move fast so 8% didn’t seem to do it.

Either killing mobs or at regular intervals, we all gained temporary random potions/meds. Quite high powered ones.

We saw one thing drop, a coin of some sort – from one of the NQ crabs. When I say NQ, they were casting tier IVs at least and were abit like dyna crabs. Didn’t seem sleepable or gravable, don’t know if bind was tried. We usually had 3-4 mobs on us at once. Kiting with movement speed does work, I’d recommend a PLD or RDM with legs but RDM may have more problems now with the nerf to enm.

Coin either autosorted or (as we think) was lost because someone was afk when we timed out. I hope auto but was no sign of what happened. May have gone to one of the afk peeps. Was not in the pool when we timed out.

We did not come close to trying the Boss but I think with effort and co-ordination this could be another Einherjar style event, 30 mins less unpredicatability, NO XP LOSS and a lot of fun. There are 8 different fights open already and I know they either have or plan to, release higher tiers.

Right now at level 75-76, its tough. I would take Einherjar style parties but different zones may require different tactics. At 80 I think an alliance for these early zones would be ok. We’ll see

When you time out, you end up back in the lobby area.. There may well be tactics which develop and make this easier but man it was a lot of fun
