I'm still roughly new to this, but why has the popularity exploded? Is it simply because of the new loot system + high-gil rewards now?
I'm just currently ignoring the 18 some Garudas on my screen as I barely do dmg on my BLU.

New loot system, new spells, new gear, (seemingly) very easy to complete now and people seem to be willling to work together since everyone gets their own rewards and not just top 5. At least that would be my guess.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that it's finally what they intended it to be -- high level campaign-type event that people can casually play around with without the need to pre-construct a large group for it. The lack of good rewards/stupid distribution system before made it frustrating and actually discouraged team play with randoms. Totally different now, and very cool. Gives me something to do when I log on an hour before an event or when nothing else is going on.
Did no one othe than top5 got loot before in old WoE? I never did it so I can't say much.
On another note, wtf at the aggro system? Doing #10 with the mandies, and I'm a mile away from any of them, yet 5+ of them will decide to run up to me out of nowhere and smack me dead. I only know of the aggro system involving minis checking out the death spot of a killed mob and that's it, and I thought they adjusted that system in this update.
At any rate, I'm expecting WoE to resort back to SMN/BST-onry shouts in about a months time once everyone gets bored of the new-ness factor, cause you NEED people to win these for the loot, and it'll turn into a catch-22 situation where people don't show up because others aren't.
[EDIT] The amount of SMNs now is just getting stupid in here...

Top 5 got their own loot, other then that you had to lot on stuff that dropped from mobs, or the final chest. They removed the mob drops, and final chest, and gave everyone their own stuff.
Those Mandies are weird. But, as it is now, when you kill something, another mob may come investigate, if they do you get the message "The fiend thirsts for blood!".
Well... while the Event is intended pickup style, the new Fluxes make it not very fun for nonpetjobs:The amount of SMNs now is just getting stupid in here...
#8: Stomps stomps stomps stomps more stomps
#9: 50% Max HP down AoE spam with damaging AoE
#10: Amnesia/Para/Plague etc Mandy AoE
Everything to keep the old horde of DNC at bay. The new "awesome" jobs seem to be of course petjobs, then RNG COR and other Mages, lots of JP also seem to like PLD.
Anyone has extended experience with Dices? 0/4 so far on new flux clears. And yes I´m getting more and more the feeling SE did a timetravel back to 2007 in this update.
2/3 for new flux clears, one from turtles and one from the Amphiteres.
As a side note, I did pretty well on SAM despite not being an "optimal" job... just make sure you have a solid tank or go /THF to TA off someone of so you don't die when those stupid boss turtles nail you for 1300 HP a melee pop. Or 2k+ Tetsudo Tremors. ;~;
Can you treat this like campaign where you just keep zombing over and over with weakness but in the end you'll still end up with decent rewards?
Pretty much, yeah.
Actually, it's probably more helpful for the group if you reraise, not heal, zombie, and die to Nerve Gas/Vermilion Wind than it would be to reraise, run out, rest until weakness wears, heal up, go back in, and die to Nerve Gas/Vermilion Wind.
I'm pretty sure I've kept up and not seen it noticed, but have the BRD scrolls been discovered anywhere other than the HKCBCs yet?
Eww those zones sound very unfriendly to people lacking decent healing support. Guess it's time to SATA cannonball like a boss.
I'm guessing the interest will go back soon enough though unless people start EXPing there(lol), since the amount of randomness and luck involved is still greater than the effort to qualify for a chest, which really is only getting hit and healing yourself a few times. So far it looks like the amount of EXP(so your effort/contributing/etc) you receive has no impact on the quality of drops you get, so someone with 5k EXP can get "better" drops than someone with 15k EXP.
I read earlier in the thread someone was complaining about the low drop rate on coins? I've gotten 20ish in 8 runs. And that's not even counting the coins that dropped to other people in my LS....I'd say total out of 8 runs we've seen close to 40 coins. Obviously not all useful to us but that's the nature of the beast.
So yeah, it's random. I've also gotten 3 dice since I last posted.
Those results are not typical and they will regress to the norm before collecting 30 coins. Bank on it.
I thought SE got rid of garbage drops...
two leaf bud from 10? Seriously SE?
Just a question, do the new magic scrolls also drop off old conflux aka the ones that are non 8/9/10/11?
Thanks.
WoE is really bad now...... i am very surprised that we have 132 people in it now, and 70% of the people are smn bst rng and cor..... some blus
