Well, did a flux 7 tonight. Boss was at 30% before I got there because my mule doesnt have movement speed. At any rate. I managed to get 2600 and the mule got 800 (from dia I guess). I had 3 possible items in my chest, he had one. Seeing as how most of our coins have come from low evaluation chests (5-7kish) I would wager each slot is a random drop but if you score below 4k you start to lose slots at 1k intervals. This is pretty consistent with the old system where 1st or 4th place didn't matter on quality of loot, only quantity.

Fill all the new areas with mobs with mostly instant kill abilities, and what do you expect people to do?

Calmatious wind was hitting my nin with shell5 for over 1500 dmg (only have 1413), chloris doom is....doom (not to mention petalback spin is lame)...havent been into 08, but whats the common fallback plan for shit that can kill at will? Throw pets at it.

idk why SE made everything AOE that crazy now and instant kill/cripple every melee...but then again, inside abyssea melees rules....so i guess outside we are beaten to earth again XD

when i mean bad, i mean melees cannot get decent points to get a box with THAT many SMN around.........sometimes u dont even get to do anything and mob dies....... or you die XD

anyway...WoE loots usually come out cheap in the end, thats the good news because so many people are involved in WoE now ^^

1/8 on Devious Die doing fluxes 8 and (mostly) 9. Always getting 5 items from chest. I was thinking about going out and leveling RNG or SMN for this so I can do better or at least contribute more, but I'm worried it'll be a vacant lot in three weeks time. So I'm just going to keep spamming it. Who knows, I might even see a scroll.

On another note, wtf at the aggro system? Doing #10 with the mandies, and I'm a mile away from any of them, yet 5+ of them will decide to run up to me out of nowhere and smack me dead. I only know of the aggro system involving minis checking out the death spot of a killed mob and that's it, and I thought they adjusted that system in this update.

Did some testing and discovered a few things - with this flux in particular. Question though - were you in a party / alliance and someone was zombie killing mobs? (SMN's are very guilty of this).

First of all they have Alliance hate, which is a definite. Had a SMN in my alliance zombie-killing a mob, would die then the group of mandies would travel half way across the map to kill everyone in our alliance (7 people) one by one - ignoring everyone else in the zone til that happened.

I was sick of getting repeatedly MPK'd while this SMN kept zombie killing after asking them to stop - so dropped alliance and was able to unweak.

I also believe they do have zone hate also - however from what I noticed alliance hate seems to take preference.

Sample size is very small - and moreso a hunch then anything else atm but believe this is how it works.

Alliance Hate > Zone Hate.

Change of topic though - SMN / BST isn't the only jobs that are useful. Most of my SMN friends report about 10-12k EXP at the end, which is similar to what I Am getting on RDM and less then what I have heard people get on PLD.

Those without a pet job - RDM is good as you can survive a few hits without dying straight away, can also do a variety of actions that increase your points: (ie. heal, enfeeb, buff, melee, nuke).

Hmm, did they gimp the skill ups in WoE, anyone found any skill ups after update?

Friends and I have done over 15 and still not seen any skill ups, it could be that it's just too little spells etc casted/blood pacts used, just wondering if they bar it is all.

It's been mentioned a couple times in the thread that no ones gotten a skill up. Best guess is they recycled the code from Campaign.

I didn't get any skill ups whatsoever on my BLM last night and definitely wasn't capped skills as I was levelling up during WoE. Wasn't really heavily nuking but I did notice that I didn't skill-up at all.

Well if you kill the boss, that boss's minis disappear with it but I get what you're saying.

And definitely no skill ups, did WoE all day the other day and then did Boneyard Gully BC and was getting katana skill ups there.

done conflux 9 few times, and for the first time realized how awesome Sacrifice is on whm, don't bother curing hp/mp down on melees, or -7 attributes, Sacrifice absorbs them all, repeatedly, non need to erase stats down on whm, just keep at it, lol

I've done 10 runs in 9 on RDM, getting 5500-6500 xp each time (it's a mule with capped 75 skills, but not really a lot of gear and not capped 95 skills) and I've got 2 coins of ruin, 1 coin of decay, 1 die, and 1 mirador pants. Often I get just utter crap.

I did 1 run in Flux2 on same RDM with ~10-14 people and got 10500xp and got 2 coins of glory a Nyx Gorget and 1 coin of decay.

Probably nothing but maybe smaller groups get more loot, I'd love to try but it's like, get into 9 or your screwed. That one run I just woke up and zoned in, saw some people heading to #2 because #9 was full.

Ya had a few pouches. One time duoble glory, another time decay. Possibly 3/20 on pouches so far.

as for which items that appear in the 5 slots are completely random

my wife smn went in, solo, 5473 XP, got a die, thunder V gold ingot , decay coin and glory pouch

i didnt do much, except die to 3 AOEs, BP maybe 10 times max, had some 2 digits pred claws

WoE has been going well on Quetz. Usually 36-50 people around and I didn't leave the zone all week, just log on WoE 4-8x, log off. For our server there's been 1-2 paladins taking charge, that is to say once a new day starts, theres usually this one Galkan Paladin who says which zone, and then 36 people follow. It's sorta sad how much sheep mentality formed already, because the other 20 people will literally just stand outside ... but if you say a flux number enough times in "say" eventually you'll get the rest to follow you in to another.

I've been doing it on Blue Mage and I don't think I've gotten below 8k XP and I often get over 10k. Still no scrolls for me yet though which means I'll be hanging around there a while.

u need to be organised? idk on odin, every conflux is flooded with 36 people every cooldown, alot of smns and shit still goes down fairly easily w/o even any plan

with unlimited RR and SMNs.....idk how anyone can lose a battle

im playing ff14 doing leves and playing wife's smn and i still getting loots, thats awesome

i can only say SE did a good job making low rate, good and needed spells in WoE, reviving this event......for now...

Odin has exploded, there's currently 155 people in WoE. We locked #7 a day after the update hit and then unlocked 8-10 the same night. There's groups constantly doing 8-10 now so hopefully #11 will follow suit shortly. I don't think I've heard of any reports of #11 being open on any other server?

It's the prisoner's dilemma, sort of; everybody wants to do the Walk but nobody wants to be the guy to risk their opportunity for the day getting everybody else to follow.

Nothing on Ragnarok yet, but there are 150+ ppl in WoE constantly and they are spamming 9 and 10, hoping to see 11 soon
