despite it saying in the SE update notes that you have to wait 1 game day, you do not.

You can exit walk of echos and buy a new key item anytime you want.
I zoned back out to try buying another key item, but Kupofried told me to wait a day and try again. Was there something else I needed to do?

maybe I was buying the key item in the middle of the game day and then doing 30 mins a battle. So it probably seemed like I can buy one anytime I wanted. So I don't know, but i'm pretty sure I brought 2 keyitems. One on darksday 2:00ish and one in 20:00s on the same darksday again.

You can only buy one key item per vanadiel day. You can enter twice on the same vanadiel day if you have the key item from a previous vanadiel day.

early this morning myself and 2 other brave souls entered the layer of crabs. While you should expect we were unable to do much with just 3 players in 30 mins. I believe we were able to confirm that new mobs will come down the stairs when you kill the 1st mob in the pack.

Upon entry there was one crab, when killed a 2nd crab ran down with hate already on us. We pulled it away from the stairs and 3-4 more crabs followed shortly behind it. They all ran to the same spot in the far corner from the entrance and stood there. When we killed that 2nd crab a new "runner" with aggro came down the stairs followed by 5 or so more crabs and linked the previous non aggro'ed group. This caused a wipe of 3.

After this we decided to venture up the stairs past the crabs. I lead the charge so was only able to see the 1st section on the second floor. It had 5 groups of standing small crabs in clusters of 2-4. they did not wander around that I saw and in theory could be pulled in their smaller groups. Another member of the trio was able to get past a portion of them as they killed me and found 3 of the large crabs in one linking group.

I don't know how useful the lay out of the upper floor will matter, but fairly certain that killing the leading runner is what causes the waves to charge.

Short vid of some one entering WOE. This guy kaoz1024 does numerous you tube vids for xi.
Spoilers for the cutscene btw. After cs he goes in solo and starts hitting Cyanic Crabs and Damask crabs. You can see the big Caldera crab in there eventually and one of his larger damage actions (Venom Shower).

Just attempted slimes with about 6 people, some nice guy sac pulled the first group, mnk/nin chi blasted and i was on sam/dnc as support, killed it easily. Then a single slime came after us, killed it also. Then 2 baby slimes came and we killed one and the other people in the zone killed, and after the one boss slime came and fucked our world up. So maybe you can avoid big links by killing slowly and tricking the system if you are scared of the mass linkage that usually happens. Worth a shot.

Did a crab run with at least 12 people, ran out of time. We didn't even get upstairs, crabs kept coming and I guess we decided to stay downstairs? Boss came down off and on. Killed at least 8 crabs? Still said we were 0% "done" when we had about 5min left. Must represent boss HP?

    In Slimes:

Has anyone killed the lone Berry Syrup? Is it like the lone bird/tiger in Einherjar that affects the battlefield if killed?

We went as a full 36 people, killed first and then second larger slimes, but then 3rd and 4th seemed to come at the same time resulting in wipe

I am guessing there is something more to this than meets the eye. Why would the battlefields allow anyone to come in randomly til 36 people are in zone. Maybe we shouldnt be in alliances, just individual parties or alone so that the mobs dont fuck us all up with this hate thing.

I've been wanting to try a strategy out, but its hard to do any real "strategy" with random people coming and going.

Anyway, I noticed they only hit me for about 110 damage as 80 WHM without any PDT gear on, so I was thinking of having a PLD/WAR WHM BRD party standing at the stairs and intercepting any stragglers that come along. The PLD/WAR would then aggro them due to him standing at the stairs when they run down and blood tank him. The remaining people inside would then grab them off of the PLD one after one as they kill them. When big boss come, the real tanks take it.

I tried it out with a 77 PLD/WAR just to see if he could tank all of them, and they only hit him for 30/pop or so without Minne on. I'm sure a PLD/WAR WHM BRD party could hold the enemies for however long is neccesary (at least the crabs, which are the ones I tried). There's almost always only between 1-4 crabs out at any one time, and the only problem I've seen in random groups are lone crabs running around killing unsuspecting people. If you could intercept them before they come down and kill people, it would go a long way.

Has anyone tried anything similar and seen the results? Whenever I go to WoE, there's always random JP groups with only 1 PLD/NIN, so I've never been able to try it out as I know 0 Japanese.

Anyone try campaign equipment yet to see if they work? I know there's no tags, but all mobs being targetable and no exp loss on death make it sound like it's a type of campaign.

@Uzor, can you super tank them? i.e. get aggro on incoming waves without having hate?

I'm not entirely sure of that - its one of the things I want to try but never had a chance to. I think - but I'm not entirely sure - if you stand on the stairs where they come down, they'll aggro you rather than ignore you. I think they aggro the first person they see, but its not something I've yet to try.

After holding a mini-mob for more than a few minutes, they start to progressively rage. Still a cinch to hold, though.

You wouldn't hold them for long though as melees would pull them off and kill. Also, me and pld held them for 7 min or so before I ran out of mp without noticing a rage, and I doubt you'd hold each crab for more than that.

It's possible it was just me being really tired upon account of having woken up 30 minutes before we went into WoE, but I felt like the slime was double attacking much more often past ~15 minutes of holding it. I was down at the entrance holding it while the other two rdms were kiting them around, so when everyone wiped up top I still had a slime to hold. I don't remember seeing any kind of big jump in damage from it, just what felt like slightly faster attack speed with and without slow II and a higher double attack.

My shell went in with 8 people at 75 to try to clear slimes. Three rdms held a slime each (one held two) while the main party of five people worked on the big one. It wasn't enough bodies, and the slime worked us. However, the rdms held their slimes until we were all unweak, which must have added up to over ten minutes, adding both the time we fought it, and the five minute recovery period. They definitely started to rage in some way.

edit: lol darkroom get outta here

Went in again for some fun - were able to due small crab no problem with mnk and rdm. A couple small strike teams should be able to hold all incoming mobs easily.
