It does not behave that way, buddy in PT was using Ebow and got double-attacks like my Dragonmaw. It only happened 8 times over the course of 5 Double Shots, according to the parse. I think he quit using it because it was very underwhelming and counted out PPA.

I did at least 30 Slugs with Double Shot on and all used exactly 1 ammo.

Mioko, I'm capping skills now. Having an insanely hard time finding decent EM mobs that aren't flooded with level 76 MNKs. The Auto's skills are a total ass to level up in exp, fyi. Archery being the worst, and Magic a close second. Melee skills up allthefuckingtime, but won't increase any more on Mage/Sharpshot frames, it stays at it's 75 cap (+Merits)

Skill up magic in Beadeaux. Park yourself under the first Afflictor and have your puppet target a pugil out of melee range. It'll dump Cursna on you until it runs out of MP, then kills the pugil - DAD, repeat until capped.

Edit: You can probably get the melee/ranged skills capped to 79 by doing the /BST Marid trick too.

    Shit son.

    You're a fucking genius.

Also BST is level 1 so I won't be doing that. I should level it up, but been working on important subs after taking a huge-ass break.

In Sky at the moment, levelling H2H AND Evasion/ Evasion skillups are through the fucking roof.

Doesn't matter if your BST is level 1 or 80 - all you really need to do Marids is /BST unlocked, Hermes Sandals, and Flashbulb. Charm adds 320(I think?) CE every time you fail, so claim a Marid with Charm and re-charm it every 15 seconds until your CE is capped (I think this takes 25-30 Charms but I could be wrong.) While charming, kite it over to one of the towers and once your CE is capped, call your puppet and send it out to follow and fight the Marid. When it does its first 5 TP moves, retrieve the puppet, throw up at Light and deploy it on the chigoe to flashbulb it down. Keep kiting around the tower while the puppet slowly whittles it down - I've never had the puppet pull hate from 100-0 and never had the Marid hit me (and this was back when I was skilling as PUP75/BST7.)

Sounds great. Used to solo those bitches on PUP/SCH all the time, I'm pretty sure Flashbulb kills got nerfed though unless I'm mistaken..? Or did it get put back in? I remember being surprised one day that Chigoes stopped dying in one hit when Flash went off. That's when I stopped soloing them.

You're right, this did change - but I can't imagine a level 80 puppet having much issue soloing one while you kite. I'll try it again myself once I hit 80PUP.

Is it just me, or is there a new Bard NPC in Port Jeuno? Can't find references anywhere on Otherwiki. Goes by the name Zuah Lepahnyu. Seems like they may eventually be referencing titles (For Abyssea perhaps?). They say:
A traveling bard walks far and near
    While wand'ring this celestial sphere
From bustling towns to godforsaken lands
But none I love more than the swell
    Inhabitants of Vana'diel
Espec'lly when their gil comes to my hands.

I cannot weave a ballad fair
Out of moonbeams and thin air.

Do you have enough data parsed now to give a rough estimate of the proc rate?

Also, do you think that Dragonmaw's OAT just takes priority and thus replaces the chance of Double Shot procing... or do you think that the effect is just so insignificant that you didn't notice a difference at all?

I'm aware all you have are educated guesses, but I'm very curious

DS lasts for 90 seconds, so 5 rounds of it would be 7:30. Apparently it kicked in 8 times in 7:30 with Ebow, which if there was constant shooting would be 10%ish depending on snapshot, engage time, etc.

That would be pretty standard with how SE handles rangers. Give them a 10% boost and think they have given ranger their version of hasso. That's how they handled snapshot when they made it the /ra version of haste.......except buffs don't affect it.....and it only affects 1 part of a rangers delay when haste reduces the total delay of melee. 10% sounds just about right.

still and all, as a rng without magian oat weapon, i'm happy with double shot. no real penalty other than increased enmity and it gives double tp(sick for my /sam gun zerg)

but yeah, it got a standard SE description thats almost completly wrong, it is NOT double damage, it turns any weapon into OAT

small side note, add effects seemed to not proc on the 2nd hit... tested with holy bolts, i'd get extra dmg on first but not second

true shot on the other hand... that seems almost worthless, have yet to see a damage bonus strong enough to eyeball at any range

relic rng in my shell saying it has a high proc rate, like a war Double Atk. Shows up in log as 2 separate shots. Assuming the double atk from this cancels out the OAT multi-shot, like with Joyeuse, any OAT gun user got fucked and will see little improvement.

Just went and tested Caster's Roll. I was a naked COR79/WHM39 using Reraise (60 second base recast). Here's my findings with a guesstimated % in parenthesis. This assumes like all other fast cast traits that recast time difference = Fast Cast % / 2 and that higher rolls generally give more fast cast (used in estimating those numbers with the same recast value).

    1: 60 (2%)
    2 (Lucky): 55 (~18%)
    3: 58 (5%)
    4: 57 (6%)
    5: 57 (8%)
    6: 57 (10%)
    7 (Unlucky): 58 (5%)
    8: 56 (11%)
    9: 56 (12%)
    10: 56 (13%)
    11: 55 (20%)
    12+: 63 (-10%)

Don't know the exact number. He may not have been running a parse. But he said it was largely noticeable, a couple happening back-to-back

I don't even have enough data parsed on my RNG to tell you the true double attack rate on the Dragonmaw.

If it is indeed 10%, which sounds like a pretty good estimate, then this ability is very underwhelming. It improves your DOT and TP gain by 5% only half the time, and prevents the use of Unlimited Shot (or Unlimited Shot MERITS which is what really pisses me off right now).

Worst of all is the fact that it does NOT PROC ON WS. Double Attack does, Double Shot doesn't. Comparing the two isn't even fair. People wear Brutal Earring for weaponskills just to get a 5% more chance of Double Attack. If Double Shot only had a 5% rate and could give you the chance of a Double Shot Slugwinder then it would be fantastic, but this implementation as it stands is a huge disappointment.

I didn't see any reports on it yet, but Stout Servant appears to give your pet a straight Damage Taken -17% (or around that).

1000 Needles did 500 to me, 414 to my Automaton repeatedly, with and without various maneuvers present.

Great, but it isn't going to fix anything...

Equalizer, Shock Absorber, Armor Plates, Earth-based Taipan Fangs, Shepherd's Chain, accompanied by a bunch of Earth Maneuvers could get ridiculous, however unrealistic it may be.
