And no, but I'm kinda butthurt over doing KS99's for Speed Belt with this Haste+7 one out now, I didn't expect anything to come out for a long time that'd top Haste on Ninurta.

Ok so the countless hours iv spent gaming / camping / farming for items which are shit, ill be lucky to make back half of what i spent... more than likely the new shit will be huge prices. Dont feel like moving on after nearly 6 years thanks just dissapointed a bit.

Bet there's lots of casual players wanting to buy some of the old most awesome gear at a reduced price. Hardly everyone will be able to get every new item, there will still be a market for alot of the stuff. And also people need gear to even get to 80, if they decide to level a new job. Will prices go down? Yes. Will old gear go for 10k? Hardly. And as with any update. it's a gamble to see what gear will become replaced and not. Last update Elemental Torques got bombed, and I had bought one like a month before update, but shit happens.

Don't think this update will bring forth another Thief's Knife scenario, Speed belt is still a top item even if something situationally better exist now. And yeah, I owned a Thief Knife when they totally ruined the price on it :/

That's why I quote the Panther Mask scenario more so than the speed belt or TK, really. Anyone who played that long ago and during the major inflation when Mask +1s were the best TP headpiece in the game for all jobs that could use it one day (selling for upwards of 100million during inflation and I think bottoming out around 20-30million during non-inflation) and then being #1 replaced by turban and #2 having 60k per wyvern skins drop to 2k per in the same week, well, it was a total and unexpected buttfucking for both the owners and the crafters.

It's something I've come to expect from SE. If it doesn't happen, great, but if it does I like to be prepared.

Edit: Now mask +1s sell for about 100k, and yeah I bought an ele torque literally a week before they crashed. Shit does happen, and I'm not saying +1s will devalue to 20k, but some 20m+ items may devalue down to 3-7 million. A hefty loss for anyone, really.

I do gotta admit, I recall the same rage happening when Ancient Torque was found in the .dats and PCC didn't budge all that much. I am wondering what to spend BC's on if it does drop now though.

Also wondering how expensive this new stuff is, if the STR+2 earrings are about the same as Triumph+1, and the STR+3 is stupidly rare... I might just rock the blue box lol

Level vs. stats usually have a finger in the market price. Also Ancient torque isn't that high in supply either. Kinda same as Velocious and Speed belt, supply vs. demand! Again referring to thief's knife where supply overwhelmed demand. In PCCs case nothing can compare to 10 acc at such low level, which helps it keep a high price.

I think a good corollary for this update is that, depending on the difficulty it takes to obtain the items, Black Tathlum is going to be made obsolete trash for I'm pretty sure every job that can use it. And that's what, a 10m item as of last week?

Black Tath been selling around 6m~ on our server. And yeah lots of new goodies in ammo slot this update. Glad I never bought one.

I do understand the points of this happening before and it will more than likely happen again, the game does need it but if they are alienating this gear from casual players again, whether it be through needing the gil to fund this new armor or time spent camping to obtain said items, many people are back to square one.

I know that opens the door for the arguement that why should casual players be rewarded as much as hardcore players etc... Just it hasnt happened on this scale before where we see literally nearly the top 50 priced items get crashed in one update by minor updates of gear. Maybe by the end of it they will be cheaper. I just felt the need to have a butthurt moment over it...

Don't know if anyone noticed this already or if I'm just crazy, but I think WHM gets Auto Regen II at 76. There's no kupower up, I'm not wearing any regen gear, and I don't have the FoV effect on, yet I'm getting 2HP/tick Regen on WHM76.

This is actually completely goddamned awesome for "casual players" who probably couldn't afford or ever hope to get a fair amount of the previous best gear, which has gone or will go drastically down in price as the updates keep happening. The gear is still just as good as it ever was, it's just not the best in the game anymore. The best gear will always be inaccessible to some degree or another, either due to being in an event system with low drop rates, or horrifically expensive, or both; supply and demand. Really, the only people this screws over are 'hardcore' players who had the best gear and are now going to be eating a gear devaluation north of several million gil.
