Thread: New San'doria Quest Line     submit to reddit submit to twitter

    Success with PLD DRG SAM RDM WHM BLM. Fairly easy with any kiter (RDM for us), small stats are slow. Only need to kill the big one to win. It's not too hard, but like Dyna stats, very resistant to physical. I was only doing 1-2 dmg with my sword in tank gear. Someone should hold the big guy and point him away from everyone else. Uses 2 tp moves, a stomp that does AOE stun (1-2 shadows) and a paralyzega gaze attack. You start off with Excen and Maxcim, they act like typical fight NPCs and presumably must stay alive. At some point, Bostillette joins the fight in a warmachine. Just keep it slow and steady, keep an eye on the NPCs, and you'll have it down fine.

    Edit: Forgot to mention, you start in the center of a circle of statues. Dont move too far out and plan your kiting accordingly.

    Last CS in present Batallia Maw. Reward is Griffon Ring, lvl80 all jobs, HP+25 Reduces enemy crit rate.

    I beat this with a RDM and WHM, 75, 76. Mostly done kiting and curing a few times. Very easy, if not long.

    The storyline has an awesome end. Decent closure. The griffins were the best characters, even if the storyline isn't the most exciting, I cared about them the most. While the story got decent closure, I want to see these guys again, in the present. Reunion quest please. (And make DRG quest a requirement).

    This rings suck, but more importantly they are really plain. My theory is that they will be enchanted. Maybe the final reward of WotG will be the ability to enchant one ring. Failing that, through magian trials.

    This might be a dumb question, but are you able to pick any one of the three rings freely? Or does the reward depend upon which nation you're aligned with?

    *edit*

    Or maybe you can get all three if you complete all three nations' quests...?

    Just duoed last fight as pld/dnc & whm/sch. Wasn't ever in any danger. Just be sure to heal the NPCs occasionally.

    Yes, the individual rings are rewards for the individual nations. Griffon Ring is the reward for the Sandy quest, Zodiac Ring is the reward for Windy, and Excelsis Ring is (presumably) the reward for Bastok.

    You can complete all three storylines for each nation. However, you do not have to repeat missions between each quest.

    Anyone manage to solo quest 12 as RDM?

    Tried it as /WHM, and I was dead on MP after the NM 2hr'd near death and started to beat the shit out of Excenmille.

    soloed both quests on 75RDM/SCH

    the 1st one is kinda harder you need to time your heals well cos even with conserve MP gear and a ton of MP and convert theres a chance u'll run out of MP .

    the 2nd is really easy. didnt intend to use /SCH but i was on that from the previous one..

    just buff up and kite the mobs around. I don't think I ever saw the NM 2hr tho.. so I might have been lucky but it was really easy since they all move slow and the boss will use numbing glare which gives u time to run out of range..

    I did have Crimson cuisses tho, so that might have come in handy.. You can kinda ignore buffing/curing excenmille/max until they get kinda low. Excenmille is the weakest of them all. I also gave them both haste at the start.. perhaps you can P4 him at the start...

    Also threw on Bio2 and Poison 2 on the boss a bit to help speed things up..

    hate is different from the previous fight in that you dont have to touch the mobs at all and they'll kinda naturally chase you, which is all the better for kiting... the babies are easy and Maxcenmille usually kills them pretty fast. Along the way Bostillete comes and helps so it get a little bit faster but not really much..

    Towards the end you'll want to watch Excenmilles HP after each Seismostomp.. otherwise it shdnt bother u

    There's a new checkable location at the entrance to Ghelsba Outpost. Hit it for a new key item, Orcish Infiltration Kit, then go back to the Scrape Mark.

    So does anyone know why all the more recent cutscenes in WoTG involve so much zoning within the CS?

    I remembered this game having no problem loading up other area locations on the fly, rather than physically requiring my character to zone to said location, just to then zone back to where I initiated the CS originally at.

    I just finished the SanD quest line, and dear god I sat around in zone loading screens more than I did the CS itself, it killed the pacing.

    Spent an hour and a half last night trying to get in, but ended up giving up. Was there a time any of you guys went that MMM wasn't so busy? >.> <.<

    (Fact we spent more time trying to enter the BC than doing the actual missions says loads about how badly designed this whole thing is, btw...)

    As I saw it, the San d'Oria one was just unusually cobbled together. The final Windurst scene takes place in multiple areas and it was viewed seamlessly.
