    You really think if the Talisman failed that SE still wouldn't have tried microtransactions? Blizzards been doing it, they lead the MMO pack so you follow the leader.

    By your logic SE nickle and dimed us for the vast improvements between CoP camps and ToAU.

    I'll agree that SE sells some trash (lolnation rings) with little trinkets attached to seal the deal (nexus/ACP/MKE/ASA) but EXP camp improvements have always come from expansion packs and that basically is what Abyssea is.

    Are you going to say that WotG didn't change the EXP landscape thanks to Campaign/MMM? Perhaps you're forgetting the days of sitting in your MH watching the moogle twirl all day.

    Every expansion has changed the EXP landscape period.

    So far, most of my focus on Abyssea has been xp/cruor farming, but I'm almost at the point where I can begin targeting NM pops/drops, and some of the other goodies available there.

    I could seriously use some help on the following:

    o Ancient Abyssite:

    Ivory - 3 can be purchased with crour, 1 obtained after 2/3 (To Paste a Peiste, A Goldstruck Gigas, Megadrile Menace), 1 obtained after 3/3 (To Paste a Peiste, A Goldstruck Gigas, Megadrile Menace)

    Azure/Scarlet/Viridian - obtained area specific by completing quests or defeating specific mobs or NM's

    Some of the questions I have about ancient Abyssite:

    - Wiki does state when killing ephemerals that only 1 person will obtain. Is that true of NM's as well? Do NM's always drop these, or just a chance of dropping?

    - Does exploiting an NM''s weakness have anything to do with ancient abyssite, or just Atma?

    - To Paste a Peiste, A Goldstruck Gigas, Megadrile Menace - these don't seem trivial fights, where a social LS party runs in, pops these and wins. Just how difficult are these? Full alliance fights? Since 2 ivory abyssite are obtained from this, and lunar abyssite required for atma infusion, I assume these clearly warrant early targeting for completion.

    Atma:

    These apparantly can drop from various NM's. It also appears necessary to exploit it's weakness? If so, and successful in doing so and defeating, is the atma a 100% drop, or random? Does everyone in the party/alliance get it, or just 1?

    Quests:

    So, apparantly not unlike any other story line, but most similar to WoTG, whereas quests/missions intertwined (although these only appear in my quest log?).

    Anyhow, while only just beginning these, I'm already stuck. I show A Journey Begins, and The Truth Beckons (completed His Box, His Beloved as well). My quest log shows Dawn of Death as still open, yet clearly I got the CS and have been xp'g in there regularly, and get no further CS's when talking with Joachim? Then, of course, I see the 3 fight quests, To Paste a Peiste, A Goldstruck Gigas, Megadrile Menace, as all open, and The Forbidden Frontier.

    So why is Dawn of Death still open? Do I have to complete one of the 3 fights to close this? Why is The Forbidden Frontier even showing as an open quest when I haven't completed any of the 3 fight quests?

    Only other quest I intentionally tried to open is Cleansing the Canyon, but Kupipi won't give it me, at least it's not showing in my open quests. Anyone know why this might be?

    Lastly, fame is back with this add-on. Can anyone elaborate on the benefit/s of fame here?

    Think of (To Paste a Peiste, A Goldstruck Gigas, Megadrile Menace) as basically being the games way of pointing you towards a goal in the zone of your choosing. I likened it to those cutscenes when you first do a Dynamis zone.

    For now the 3 quest bosses are alliance fights and require some dedicated farming outside getting lucky with gold boxes but I do not think anyone has beat all 3 and seen what the response from Joachim is. Im sure if it's anything, it is somewhere in the .dats.

    The Dawn of Death being open either means it doesn't close till all 3 megabosses have been defeated by the player or simply acts as a placeholder for future missions in the upcoming expansions.

    The benefit of fame seem to be quests that reward with abyssite that are useful while being in Abyssea.

    I don't see anyone else having mentioned it, but some of us exceeded the 600 exp hard cap the other night on bugards and were capped at 610. At the point I did the only key items I had were the Kukulkan, Mucid Eye, and the 3 purchasable key items. POIDH: Will post after class tonight. Has anyone else met or exceeded this?

    As I just posted in the Konschtat thread, Bugards normally give 5% more experience points than you'd expect for their level/etc outside. It could be that the Experience Points bonus translates to inside, in which case you'd expect 630 to be their hard cap.

    Assuming no one is replaced, is there any benefit from alternating the colored chests?

    It sounded like they got up to faint and then it didn't matter or can you continue to get specific kills for a "brighter" light?

    As far as the XP argument, assuming you can maintain TEs and have several hours necessary to build up that XP it's ridiculously efficient while not ostracizing less popular jobs, so I would say it's as refreshing as Level Sync was.

    Abyssea is the best thing ever. RDM and WAR went from 77-80 and capped merits in 12 hours in an average killspeed party. If I can level not just one job, but two, a combined total of 4 levels(capped 80xp) each without pulling my hair out and having fun for 10 of the 12 hours I partied then SE did something right.

    Anyway for some actual useful information, I suppose it has already been confirmed that mandies do not ever give ruby light outside of boxes. I partied for 12 hours this morning and I did not ever see one ruby light as either WAR or RDM and I was red box bitch the entire party.

    Is there any reason why so many people are spamming mandies and bats in Tahrongi? Other than the piercing damage I don't see the purpose of fighting monk mobs that can counter, guard and have higher HP over fighting something like coerls which have no dangerous TP moves, are easier to kill and are generally camped far less.

    i know coeurls were just a for instance, but silence and a strong paralyze make them annoying. Also they're evasive as fuck. (remember the 60's in lab? makes me shudder). mandies and bats have low evasion, nothing that needs to be dispelled or erased and fairly weak tp moves. Plus, they're extremely abundant and in tight groupings, making pulling a breeze.

    Your current light aura strength is NOT determined by the message. Feeble, Faint, etc are the increments by which it was just RAISED.

    This. Honestly, fuck regular parties. Oh btw SE, mind maybe putting in skill ups and upping the EXP cap on Allied Tags now that we have Abyssea? That "too much EXP from Campaign" bullshit ain't gonna fly now.

    I was usually a Campaign advocate, but even when I'm out of Abyssea time/stones, it's still hard to bring myself to do it. I figured it would have toned down a bit since Abyssea exp was discovered, but shit... the mob hiding has been getting worse and worse each day and there is absolutely zero enjoyment in it now. I figure it's just the only exp that exists now for people who didn't spend the $10.

    We got this off bugards as well. I didn't happen to get a screenshot with defeats the Ypotryll so hopefully one of my party members taking damage is enough. It also didn't go above 610 for the rest of the night, despite how many gold/ebon chests we got.

    It seems that the lights you can get, and xp caps for each mob are different. Now I haven't done all this myself but from what I hear different people reporting this might be the case. Sort of like you can get different augmented gear from different mobs.

    Hello, everyone there is something i wanna have cleared if anyone can...

    I bought abyssea maybe 1 week ago.. (have been doing PTs there every since) Okay the first day i got 1 stone... the second day i got 2, the third i got 3... And someone told me u only get 1 stone every 20hrs, but I got 3 Stones Day before yesterday, 3 stones yesterday and 3 stones just now... Anyone know why is this?

    Um.. so you've gotten about a week ago, the restore at 20 hrs a shot and you've gotten 9 stones all together? So you've probably had the expansion for 8 days then? 8 days = 192 hrs = 9 stones

    Also have you been fighting the NM Bakka at all and gotten an abyssite without noticing?

    Stones regenerate every 20 hours. You can hold up to 3 at a time. Get 3 > Wait 20 hours > Get 3 more > Rinse and repeat

    At least that's how I understand it.
