I have Kismet and it seemed to me that higher level blue chests appeared faster than normal on my last run.

We got 22 time extensions during the entire run. It took my PLD from 1k exp into 78 all the way to capped EXP at level 80 and 10 merits with capped limit points. I entered with 99 minutes (3 stones + sojourn) and left with 65 minutes to spare. This was on Pachipodium in Tahrongi.

Throughout the run, we kept replacing alliance members when they would get tired or had to go, but time extensions were still fairly consistent throughout the run except for an hour stretch where we had none (most likely due to all the switchups we made). I also made sure to get a bunch of killshots pretty early on in the run if it mattered.

    Hope that helps.

edit: also plow stop being such a tryhard you only look like an idiot when your trying to be an ass about something you don't know about apparently.
Plow was being an ass cause everytime malacite opens his mouth, he makes everyone's I.Q drop cause 100% of his post are retarded. End.
With that being said, the key item probably makes your azure light cap out faster.

On that whole lights dont reset if you stay the same zone. Does that include if you job changed outside of abyssea and didn't enter again until you were on the original abyssea job?

You left the zone - lights get cleared
They were talking about disconnecting and coming back to not have lights reset.

A linkshell mate of mine told me last week that he warped to Jeuno to spend his merits and came back to the same alliance in the same Abyssea zone and on the same job (no main or sub job change) and his exp didn't reset back to minimum. He claimed he was getting the 500+ exp per kill he was getting when he left as soon as he returned.

I never had a chance to verify this myself. I thought it was odd, but recalled I hadn't ever gone back to my Mog House without actually changing jobs at some point along the way. He claimed it may not have reset because he didn't change jobs at all. He's not someone I would suspect of lying about anything like this, so I suppose it could have been a glitch if this isn't the behavior everyone else is experiencing.

Yeah if you dc your abyssea time keeps counting down so it figures that you would keep ur status at least.

    *Visitant duration continues
to decrease even after log out. Players who log in to Abyssea when their
visitant status has already worn off will find themselves instantly
    expelled.

He didn't mention d/cing at all. Clearly says if you exit Abyssea. And yea, I didn't think he was right since every experience I've had went against it.

I can confirm you maintain your lights and a large chunk of your exp chain when you enter/re enter without killing anything. Exited with an exp chain in the mid 200s, teled to jueno, grabbed a new traverser stone, teled to sandy, OP warped, choco'd to maw, entered and was getting high tier chests on my kill shots still and about 180~190 exp/kill.

If you actually read what he wrote you'd see he said if you exit through maw properly you maintain lights. D2ing does not however.

I suspect there is some kind of cooldown on your chain as in the 20 mins I spent getting a new stone I lost about 20% of my exp chain, so I suspect if you're gone for too long, prolly around an hour to an hour and a half, you eventually lose all of your chain.

He doesnt say anything about going through the maw. He even talks about chocobo'ing back to the maw (possible he got warped/tele'd after he exited through the maw, but he doesn't say that anywhere).

Can anyone else confirm that you keep your lights/chain if you exit through the maw and come back? This would really help with long farming sessions when my dd cap merits. We've been limiting people leaving to spend merits because we were under the impression they would have to rebuild lights before they could get kill shots for top tier chests.

Exp per kill doesn't have anything to do with lights. What you get off the killshots of the person who zoned is what will determine if they kept their light. You will always lose your chain when you leave the zone, hence get lower exp.

EDIT: Even if the new person gets killshot, it doesn't bring down the exp of everybody.

Except for the fact that I was getting killshots just after returning and 1.25K exp chests and 1K crour chests were still dropping, and was still getting up to 200 exp a kill right off the bat.

Seems to me as I said that if you exit properly you maintain your chain for a period of time but it quickly degrades to nothing if you're out too long. In other words to keep your chain you need to be zoning around and warping and teleing to get back asap.

I was gone tops 20 mins, I think it was closer to 15, and already lost 20% of the chain.

If his lights had stayed then his XP would have been much higher than 80 due to golden/ebon lights.

Ruby, Azure, Pearlescent, and Amber lights are only counted for the person who got the killshot when calculating chest drops and their contents.

We don't know if gold light is an effect that you keep, or if you just get a straight up exp chain increase and then the lights' gone.

Could also be the same for all other lights as well. You actually could have a chain value, and when you get a light it just adds +1 or +2 to it and you maintain that value.

Therefore your rate of chests and potency of chests are separate from lights. I've noticed potency of chests seems to be reflected by your overall chain.

You could have a billion azure lights and no ruby at all (IE mandies) and still get the highest tier of red chests despite having gained now ruby light at all. Lights just seem to increase your RATE not POTENCY.

Therefor it looks like there are 2 possible scenarios

4 variables, exp/kill, red chest rate, blue chest rate, gold chest rate

Gold raises exp/kill by a bit, ruby increases red, azure increase blue, amber increases gold, pearl increases them all.

Or a 5th variable, chest rate in general which is connected to your exp chain or something.

First game does a check as to whether you got a chest at all based on the 5th variable, then it uses your ratios of red/blue/gold from lights to decide which of the 3 chests you even get.

There is one unknown abyssite left in La Theine, another Sojourn (+3min/stone). I believe it is obtained by completing all quests in La Theine, as outline by this text:

Dialog Table Entry 04541 Behold the meticulously maintained record of your exploits!
Your progress for this area's objectives is thus:≺Prompt≻

Dialog Table Entry 04542 'Tis my pleasure to confirm the completion of this objective! Huzzah!≺Prompt≻

Dialog Table Entry 04543 My word! You've completed all the objectives in this area! Truly exceptional!≺Prompt≻

Dialog Table Entry 04544 'Tis my utmost pleasure to proffer you this as a small gesture of our appreciation for your efforts.≺Prompt≻

I am unsure who this NPC is who is saying this; clarification on what this 'objective' is (presume quests?) would be nice too.

Last night I had a run in Konschtat doing Lizards. We pumped up our Azure light until we'd gotten 30, then we worked on Perlescent. Got about 2 TEs during this time. When we were getting a decent chest drop rate, we started focusing on Blue again. Unfortunately, a few Red chests with strong Ruby light dropped and we opened them, got mostly red chests for a long enough time that we ended up timing out (we got mostly blue chests again at the end, but none with TEs).

So this idea that the light only goes to the killer (miokomioko) is interesting, but pretty well contradicted by the chat log following every kill, eh?
