We're just calling it AF3 for the sake of convenience. The neck, belt and ape items certainly fit the bill since they're all JSE, come with job referencing names and appear as a set across all 20 jobs. That and the fact that we know they're already going to add "af3" armor in future.
20 x 5 drops from NMs isn't really a lot and I'd think they'd fit as standard drops in any future systems in abyssea. Would also be wise to apply occams razor for that, I suppose
Step 8 is "Gank every key item possible from big chests in all your pickup EXP abyssea groups"
Anyone else frustrated with the T1 VNM upgrade rate? I got a clear demilune abyssite after my EXP ally in Tahrongi and I got upgrade on my 16th Hungerer. WTF Squeenix... it's maybe excusable out in the overworld but would it have killed you to up the upgrade rate within a time-limited zone??
not really. it just happens to be under Ammo.
SCH has always been different tho, also considering their AF1 weapon is a spell.

I've never fought any of the atma NMs yet, but everyone discusses the weaknesses and the "!!" how does that appear? like floating over the mob, in chat log, other? Tried scouring the threads for a picture but not had one jump out and bite me.
!!'s will appear floating over the monster for about a second.
I must be doing something wrong - people are talking about getting 200+ minutes in a zone like it's nothing. Even with a good killspeed (~20-30 seconds per mob) and maxed Azure and Pearlescent aura, Time Extension chests are incredibly rare for any group I'm in. I've been in groups for 6+ hours, but even in those, we just BARELY stay afloat with time chests, generally hovering around the 10-30 minute range the entire run, and we generally have a steady drain of people who get kicked as a result. And I swear to God we get more time extension chests when we have 8-10 people versus an alliance of 18. But beside the point; people are talking about having 200+ minutes as a result, and there was a screenshot up above of a Pachypodium party with 366 minutes remaining. I've never gone above the time I entered with in any Abyssea group I've been in.
In short, what am I doing wrong? <.<
We go for Azure > Pearlescent, or Pearlescent > Azure. Found that Azure > Pearlescent generally takes a bit longer to hit TE's, but it's way more consistent. Haven't failed any run where we started with Azure; whereas we have sometimes when we start with Pearlescent. We'll get 30-40 max tier blue chests, with every reward in them but Time Extensions. After Pearlescent is built up to where chests drop once every 1-3 kills, we switch to Ruby for EXP. After that, we switch back to Azure if we're not getting much in the ways of TE's (it rarely helps, though) or switch to Amber if applicable. If not, we just kill however and keep a fair balance of ruby and azure auras. We never really have a "good amount of time built up" - as I said in the previous post, we generally hover around 15-30 minutes for a good 4-5 hours of the run, and consistently have a drain of people who didn't enter with as much time and get kicked.
Build your time up before you ever start building ruby up.
What has always work for me is to do, About 30 azure kills. Then get Pearl kills until chests are dropping from every mob. Then go back to azure and stick with azure until you are comfortable with the time you have. Then you can switch to ruby or amber depending what your goal is.
Once you are getting a chest drop every kill. Keeping it so you are getting 95% blue chests gives you a very high chance of getting TEs. Have gotten 6 TEs in a 5 minute span before. Even when you rotate out people because they have to leave or dump merits. Keep having mages snipe the kill shot. Only time you shouldn't be getting azure kills is, if you aren't getting chests every kill or you have a more time then you know what to do with. At least this is what has worked for me every time.
I think the run I was talking about before finally broke completely after 3 days.
What I do to get TEs is I focus on azure lights until I see a 1000 cruor/1250 exp/TE/Any other high tier blue chest. Then I pump out pearl lights until I have a 1:1 ratio.
What you have to remember when you do these runs is, people cap their exp, leave and come back, and people are replaced.
When you replace a member or they reenter, their lights are completely reset. Whoever gets the killshot on the mob decides the chest that it drops, so if somebody with capped azure/pearl kills it, it has a high chance to drop a TE, while if the newcomer finishes the mob it will probably not drop a chest at all. With this in mind it's important to focus on not exactly what type of killshot you get after you have capped azure/pearl, but WHO gets the killshot, that is until you cap everyone's lights again.
