SO far I've found the most effective method to spread abyssites is to have the puller engage pull the nm/monster/epheremeal/tonberry/whatever, hit it once, pull back and disengage it to make it go yellow again.

Second person claims, and when and if an abyssite/key item pop drops, both the original puller and the one who claimed get it.

Once you try doing it for a third person though it gets tricky. For big enough groups shadowbind + sleeping the mob might do the trick as long as you make sure everyone knows not to engage, pull back, yellow, first attack, disengage and shadowbind, wait for it to yellow, have a third person engage, sleep it, wait for yellow, etc etc until as many people as possible have gotten a claim in, then proceed to kill.

This worked well enough on tonberries who are susceptible to sleep. I wouldn't recommend it though for NMs since, well, considering the fact you're attempting to make your NM go yellow a rival llinkshell who notices your methods could start camping you waiting to try and claim it away from you

I believe people tested that and it dropped to just the new puller and not the person who died. How could that mechanically work for both people anyways?

It was actually done accidentally at first and both pullers got the abyssite; if you have information to the contrary, please do share.

My mistake, it was with the NM pop items, not Abyssite. I guess you can't dupe NM pop key items biut I'm sure that would have been exploited big time it.

Still, pulling/dying isn't going to be a strategy when you can easily be going 0/30 on any given Abyssite drop.

I recall reading way back in the thread about red mage duos using kite and DoT methods duped drops because they repeatedly yellowed the mob while kiting and reclaimed, essentially giving them both "claim" over the mob.

That is really odd to me that the Abyssite qualification list doesn't get wiped when you die/deaggro. It makes me wonder if some other ally killing a NM could grant an Abyssite drop to someone outside of it if they pulled it and died on that same Abyssea visit.

Sounds more like what's going on is that the original puller lost claim but didn't die (effectively staying on the hate list), the new puller achieved claim and was added to the hate list, and both are flagged as "first action". miokomioko - this contradicts your statement as you're talking about situations where one of your puller dies (rather than engage - disengage'ing the mob to turn it unclaimed).

I've had people pulling Raskovnik in Konschtat in pairs, but our person who always does the original pulling either loses aggro or dies on the way to camp (we do a long pull), making our secondary puller always be first action. Our person who always did the first pull still is without the key item after about 6 kills, yet I and 2 other people who have pulled got it.

Pullers who die or pullers using pull methods that [don't put them on / drop them from] the hate list get skipped because half of the requirement to obtain the items seems to be staying on the hate list after claim. People with abyssites / key item Pops from NMs or who are working on them could check on their kill experiences and see if this theory lines up (doubtful but it's worth a shot).

Yeah my mistake, I have Viridian Abyssite of Merit. I just wasn't sure it if was always active or if I had to set it some how.

I just finished some abyssite of celerity testing!

I have been tracking my stone regeneration time and I had it down to a 30s window. We all know that it changes the 20hr to 16hr. But I found that it applied to my current stone that was regenerating.
According to my records I would have been able to pickup my next stone at 8/7 2:53. At 8/6 21:15 i got my key item and was able to pick my stone up at 8/6 22:53.

Thus the abyssite applies immediately to your stone regeneration.

I got my Viridian Abyssite of Destiny from Manananggal.... so apparently it drops multiple.

Apologies in advance if I missed this information in an earlier post. Also, I wasn't sure if I should post this question in each zone specific thread.

What I would like to know is which mob families in each zones are people targetting to boost lights to get Time Extension chests, and Key Item chests.

I'm trying to maximise my LS Abyssea farming sessions, and right now we are targetting NMs in the 90mins and I don't feel it's efficient use of our time.

Has anyone ever gotten two different key items off the same NM? For example, I want to know if it's possible to receive both an Atma and Abyssite from the kill or if there is only one drop 'slot' for key items per kill. Would also be useful to know for pop key item drops.

updated my charts for the week..

new stuff are some drops.. added scathacha based on wiki, augur's brais from JP site and some other stuff. Also added stats of Atma to the list. slightly messy but i think it works.

+ means major ++ means superior and nothing means minor. since they're all buffs, they're taken to be positive effects unless stated (like reduction PDT)

also decided that breaking old links is prolly better so people who hotlink will know that a new version is available.

probably wont update for 2 weeks from now cos i'll be touring NYC. njoy
