We couldn't get the quest from Apururu to start. Wondered if it was nation specific or something. We tried Holla first, didn't pick up any quests and then went to mea the day after. Mea is associated with windy in Abyssea from the flag that was in camp and none of our group were windurstian.

Hmm, I wonder if that's a possibility. Both me and my friend are Windurstian. Will have to drag a non-windurstian to check now.

Fucking bone chip + break with my pickaxe. Of course.

I started soloing some Thalassinon in that corner for like 213 exp/45 cruor each at 78. Was surprisingly easy for 'Very Tough.' The first one I killed made me glow with a "feeble ruby light" and the next two I killed did nothing. It makes me wonder if the NMs that are surrounded by their babies are easier to fight if you get the light effects from their babies or something along those lines. No drops though.

Killed one Pachypodium and got a blue chest. Managed to unlock it (still don't get how that works) and got some temp items, nothing cool.

I found that Tahrongi Cacti spot, but there was seriously 30+ purple Coineach-type dudes all around the area. Swarming. Cactus did nothing cool, no NM in there, no ???s...

Timed out while fighting a Ephemeral Clionid that was bubbling with a water effect. (is that normal?)

There's a ??? along the far wall with the cointeach enemies. Would've mad a comprehensive list of ???'s for Tahrongi, but didn't get the <pos> for them like an idiot.

My bad then~ I was hitting tab like a madman and only saw the cacti and them.

Does the mob name prefix "Ephemeral" indicate they are "glowing" and that they might give you a key item?

Just got a 2nd and 3rd one tonight. Pops soulflayer NM. I gave details a page or two back. Key rule ... bring stuns.

Regarding Tahrongi quest "His Box, His Beloved Client - Apururu (Main base camp)"

I was able to flag and complete the quest on my first time in Abyssea. I'm allied to Bastok.

And I dont really recommend doing the fetch quests without some kind of movement speed, went bard for mazurka, sneak/invis everywhere. I am guessing Sprinter shoes would work too. I did Apururu's quest, went back to the box-camp and trigured the Veridical thing, got the next quest to dig up a bone but ran out of time.

Did you talk to Kupipi nearby? I couldn't flag that quest or the pickaxe one til I did.

Yeah, I just blew a -lot- of my first 60min session on fucking around running back and forth between those bones and whatnot trying to figure out that quest. Definitely something you should do by yourself.

Is there any kind of pricing pattern for activating the Verdical Conflux? The first one I saw outside of the beginning pass cost me 100. I found another one towards the North-West, near the box-loving taru that was 200 cruor. I hope the price doesn't go up for each one you activate. :/

supposedly #1 is free, and 2 is 100, with each number going up by 50, with #8 costing 400 cruor. The number of the conflux is how far it is away from #1 basically.

The first ever entry to abyssea, i talked to all npcs and got no quests
Then after going back to Joachim and getting a cutscene, on my next abyssea entry (which was Tahrongi again), I got a CS with a taru for the sandworm quest. That entry is when I got the Apururu quest.

Also after that run, when I got my new stone today, I got another new cutscene with Joachim.

I went in solo to Konstacht do the first part of the quest as BLM/RDM. Figured I would just go in, walk around, warp out and talk to Joachim. I ended up killing a ton of lizards and clontids (sp?). I killed a glowing clontid at the end that gave more cruor and XP but was still stupid easy. Aspir for 250+, the clonid area near where you XP on Rock Eaters in normal Konstacht, is pretty nice for BLMs. Only got a few hundred cruor solo, but with a few people, you can farm enough for some of that new gear pretty quickly. From my cursory introduction, I thought it was pretty sweet.

Just so you know, I'm pretty sure Cruor scales down with more party members just like exp.

abyssia mea. There is a mob named Gancanagh that pops by black mandies and drops thew bomblet +2 STR +10 attack. I got this info off someone else but I wanted to know where the black mandies popped and where this NM pops and how many ppl is needed to kill it.

Kinda wondering if anyone found the lucky coin yet as well (acc+8 ammo equipment)

The puks seem like a good camp. There are also 3 Ephemeral mobs that spawn nearby which would boost the XP significantly while fighting here.

Of course, this all depends on how strong the mobs get and how long it takes them to stop being worth it. They start out VT with Ts mixed in.

There was an Ephermal Limule in La Theine at ( F-8 ) with the Wasps.

There is a group of tigers (angler tiger) south of conflux #2. They drop a Gargantuan Black Tiger Fang but I couldn't see anywhere to trade it to.

First time in Abyssea. Came across the giant worm. Got this drop. Not sure if anyone else has posted it yet.
