Btw the NM rabbit near the entrance does aggro and will link with the nearby rabbits. Their pathing is completely retarded. I didn't even mean to, but i was pinning the NM after we practically wiped to it by surprise. Could kite him forever if the other rabbits didn't link.

We mannaged to get all the Confluxes but 1 (wasted time on the rabbit NM) & farmed around 2k Cruor.

Killed Adze, Gnat NM in Tahrongi. Got an Impulse Belt - RAcc+5 Ratt-5 Enhances Snapshot effect. Apparently he has En-Doom and En-Petrify as our tanks found out.

LS just killed Chukwa, the NM turtle. Dropped Siege Bow - STR+3 Rapid Shot+5 and EMN-5. Casted Stonega V, Flood II, Quake II?.

I timed out with turtle around 20-30%. Only had 30 minutes, so no screenshot. I'll leave that to Belkin if he wants to post any.

We found a bunch of Gigas killed a few and got two pop items back to back, so we looked around, found the ??? and pop'd this NM, first didn't drop anything, however the second....

Was it key item pop or double rare item pop? Either way, what was the name of the pop?

I believe you can 6 man most of the stuff in abyssea unfortunately the time required to do it would be reflected on that.

I plan to try and pop Carabossa next time I go in, anyone had any experience with it yet?

Man I hope it drops more then 2 gems...

i hope too, i need 50 gems still for my masamune, any info on carabossa would be loved atm

You can solo/lowman the zone just fine. Mobs can range from DC-IT++. Eventually you'll build up enough cruor for whatever u need but its 100x faster with a bigger group.

NMs will require more as this is a timed zone so the faster stuff dies the better. Spending 1hr kiting 1 NM for it not to drop anything can ruin your day.

Follow up post..

Adze was killed by BG 3-4 hour before we entered and was already up again. Seemed to have a variety of status inflicting TP moves/en-spells (En-stone and En-doom had a semi-low proc rate). Not difficult with a full alliance of mage types. We brought SMN's and BLM's.

Chukwa was pretty easy. It's in the middle of turtle land toward Meriphataud and the surrounding turtles aggro. After pulling it will immediately go into shell and not chase tanks. It'll pop out of shell to use Tortoise Stomp and Mighty Strikes. When it uses Mighty Strikes, it comes out for about 30-45 seconds at which time it takes full damage and will also chase tanks. Use this opportunity to pull it out of the fuckfield of turtles it spawns in. Can use Waterga V, Stonega V, Flood II and Quake II. A poorly timed ga V into Turtle Stomp will probably kill a PLD, which happens pretty frequently at low HP. Again, this NM was pretty easy and half of the alliance timed out at like 30%.

The rest of the alliance had another 25 minutes. We went to nearby Coeurl land which is south of the turtles and found a ???. We decided that the pop item was from the surrounding Coeurl so we started slaying. After about 5, Shocking Whisker dropped and we popped the NM

Tefenet was his name. Was a typical coeurl fight until about 50% at which time he started using Mortal Blast and Blink of Peril in place of Blaster and Chaotic Eye respectively. Mortal Blast was instant death to any target facing Tefenet. Blink of Peril was huge damage (1000+ to fully buffed level 80 PLD) and hate reset. When it starts using these moves, it is highly advised to just turn around and tank it backwards. The moves have no effect whatsoever if you tank backwards. It can be stunned and it is possible to stun Mortal Blast as well. We did not have a RDM present to try enfeebling it. It dropped a smooth whisker which seems to be yet another pop item or perhaps a crafting material.


If anybody finds a recipe with a Smooth Whisker, let me know

It's different. You need 3 pop items from NM's to pop the quest NM's. The pop point for the Gigas in La Theine is at the Carbuncle Stonehedge. I don't think the Sandworm NM in MEgadrile Menace will be just up wandering around if it follows the same pattern.

I figured as much when it dropped the axe and there was no indication of completing the quest from the appropriate NPCs. Near the Sandworm area is the ??? requesting multiple items so that might be what spawns the quest NM.

There ya go. If its anything like the Gigas NM, normal baby sandworms will drop a pop item that pops an NM sandworm. That NM sandworm drops the pop item for the quest NM.

Just want to say how awesome the mini turtles are. They literally made the run worthwhile.

Also sandworm nm for gaxe looks pretty easy. We wpied at 50% with drg/nin sam/nin rdm whm (and thf, disengaged) but it wasn't that slow. A brd and maybe a pld would make it an easy kill (what fucked us was absorbing a fresh :ni + haste > 400 400 crit600 > dead sam)

Oh, also turtle NM went into his shell and cast AM2 as soon as I pulled with /ra

Was 4th cast with a Sinking Lure. I wanted to see what kind of mobs I can fish up with Sneak on. It is true sound so I got aggro'd ><

uses vampiric lash frequently, sweet breath and bad breath are frontal cone only.
Dropped key item "Decaying Morbol Tooth" (among key items suspected to pop the boss of the zone [peiste].

Each fight was rather simple. Raskovnik charmga caused some frantic link and a near wipe.

NM imp Bakka is @K5 with Dapifal Imps and near Ghosts whose name I cannot remember. I was solo at this point with 5 minutes left...

Also, maps with full&accurate mob/conflux location for Konschtat and La Theine are now there. I didn't add the ???s because it gets very cluttered and they are listed below anyways. (Not to mention they're within the mob pop area.) I suppose adding the key item ones wouldn't been too bad, though.
