Oh, I fucked myself over! Exited with like 4min50seconds remaining, so when I re-entered an hour later, I didn't have visitant status and had to spend my stone in order to get visitant status to buy the thing, so I don't have another stone left to check the NPC. :/ One other guy in shell should be getting a stone very soon, but he's afk atm so no ETA on that information.

Except A.Burst is a weaker version of Flash. Even when soloing say VT Ghrahs, hits still get through which is really annoying since it's flashed. However, that wasn't an issue on this guy, highlighting his low acc.

Chocobo Whistle and Fellow NPC can't be used in Abyssea. Pretty obvious, but thought I should just explicitly check.

Enemies in Abyssea follow despawn rules of a regular zone. Regular mobs in Abyssea will despawn outside their area just like normal mobs. NM's return to their spawn point and eventually despawn. Sneak and invisible work appropriately on most normal mobs as well.

The Caoineag, Cointeach type mobs, aggro to sound and probably low HP.

Mining some excavation points yielded the usual stuff. Bone chips, bat fangs, giant femurs, scorpion shells, scorpion claws. Only new thing seemed to be the Flocon-de-mer, and the hardened bone quest item.

=Quests=
In Tahrongi the fame NPC is Zabirego-Hajigo at the entrance. Here's his dialogue for relative fame levels (might be a bit off):

Fame 3 - Oh, hullo there, ≺Player Name≻. I was just talking to a fellow who seemed to have taken quite a liking to you.

Fame 4 - Well, if it isn't ≺Player Name≻! Don't go getting a swelly-welled head, but you've got yourself the makings of your own little fan club these days.

Fame 5 - ≺Player Name≻! What a rare treataru! Why, I hear your name everywhere I go these days.

The only quests I was able to flag with no fame were "His Box, His Beloved", "Weapons Not Worries" (and of course the martello mini-quest "Refuel and Replenish"). It's possible there's others I missed but I think I covered most of the zone.

Refuel and Replenish:
In order to start a Martello refuel quest you have to have visitant status first. Then talk to the Machine Outfitter NPC and ask about refuelling or whatever. Now go find a martello and check it, then select refuel. It tells you which direction to examine it from in order to refuel it. Real easy. Return to the Machine Outfitter to finish. I got 20 cruor for refuelling martello #3 in Tahrongi but they suggest farther martellos might award more. Was able to reflag this mini-quest again immediately.

His Box, His Beloved:
Talk to Apururu at the entrance camp. Then go to the northwest camp and speak to Kopuro-Popuro at F-9. Now keep checking the Bottomless Box next to him until it gives you a starfruit. Return to Apururu at the entrance to finish. Rewards 200 cruor.

Weapons Not Worries:
Talk to Peshi Yohnts at F-9 in the northwest camp. Now go to E-5 passed the small adamantois mobs and find some excavation points near the large dragon skeleton. Mine them until you get a hardened bone (or you can buy them off the AH). Return to Peshi Yohnts and trade her the hardened bone to finish. Rewards 200 cruor. Seems repeatable but not able to reflag immediately.

For those trying to find a good place for cruor:

I tried farming cruor from the flan in Konschtat with LS mates for just 30 minutes. We went BLM BLM BLM RDM. They were really easy, went down fast, but only gave 60-140 exp. The cruor was about 25 average, but it didn't seem to correlate with exp (one mob gave only 67 exp, but 48 cruor). One of the other BLMs and I both got a temp item called Ascetic's Gambir, which gave magic attack+ and magic accuracy+. It boosted TIV from ~1400 to 1800. I'd say a single party is the most that area can take before you're waiting on repops, and even then it wasn't that good--about 450-500 cruor in 20 minutes (took 10 minutes to walk there, but we bought the conflux nearby so we can get there faster next time). Not being able to chain really hurts ; ;

Also, NM was just up and walking about, but we just avoided it. I tried to pull a flan to the Fistule at the end, but the other BLMs killed it before I got there >_>

If farming cruor is your concern, any mob spot is viable. As you kill mobs and continue to kill repops, they spawn higher lv and repop faster and they start to wander into your area more.

About 30 mins in any group in 1 spot will be looking at IT++ mobs to 80 and 7-8 mobs in your visual range if not aggro range.

Abyssea mobs respawn faster and start to gather the faster you kill.

What I would like to know is how much xp people are getting per mob kill depending on your party/alliance size. From what I can tell the numbers seem all static to me. 6 man or 12 man will still get 200xp/50cruor from a IT+ mob.

Was on a 16 man run few days ago, until the third set of repops we were getting zilch a kill. highest level person was 80.

Slowly escelated up to about 20~30 exp a kill and often no crour

Just fought the big sandworm in Abyssea-Tharongi, dunno if this has been stated but his two new TP moves "Gorge" and "Dis-Gorge" work like this:

Gorge deals heavy drain dmg on the sides, and 1/4 of that dmg to the front. Shortly there-after he will "Dis-Gorge" which hit me (76pld, decent gear) for 2025 through shadows. Dis-G is frontal heavy dmg, and no dmg to the sides. Dis-Gorge takes a while to process so it should be avoidable. Timed out @ 9% but a win was most likely not going to happen as we had lost 3-4 members because of time differences. hope this helps.

Spawned Bloodguzzler in Konschtat w/ the Eft Blood dropped from the nearby Gneiss Leeches, dropped a Graiai Earring. Was a pretty easy fight, overall, but we were a full alliance.

On a potentially more interesting note, we got it to !!... Seemed to be responding to a Gravitation SC.


Only other potentially interesting thing on the run was that I got an Azure Abyssite of Lenity when we killed an Emphemeral Clionid. It's listed as a Temporary Key Item... anyone know how that works? Does it shatter the next time I die in Abyssea, or what?

how are you guys getting so much cruor? i just went with a group of 14-15 and we spammed gigas and pixies in la thiene, we got a blue chest with 200cruor and 250xp, and countless useless red ones that just made us glow (maybe you need a certain glow to be effective on different NMs??) and we killed the first pixie NM twice (gained a little under 1kxp for a kill, did not get stronger after a second pop)

at the end of an hour we had about 1.6k cruor total, taking 1 5 minute rest break sounds like we did the same thing as described, but they reported 3-4k+ while not actually farming for it

Gorge/Disgorge takes the amount of damage Gorge drains from everyone and that damage is then Disgorged onto someone. When we tried it with a terrible setup and 5 people we got it to 60% before running into trouble, didn't really try to see if disgorge was range-able though. Seems easy enough if you bring a couple ranged DDs who won't get hit by Gorge.

So either I'm confused on the 20 hour wait on stones or the guy is broke. I triggered the CS Wednesday evening meaning to go do a 30min run to start stacking stones, but ended up not going until Thursday evening around 8:30/9pm which is when I picked up my first stone. Hadn't touched the zone since Thursday evening. Picked up my three stones today like planned at 4pm, went and did a full run. About two hours ago a guy in my group said he had three ready which I thought was weird, so I went to check and sure enough I have 3 ready as well. Are these recycling 20 hours from the moment you start this expansion? It certainly is not 20hrs from which you pick up your stone because it's only been 7 hours.

what do you suggest? it was said earlier in the thread that a good way to do this was to rush down mobs and score on chests. it seemed like 6 manning would soon become very difficult to take down and actually slow down the proccess

They mold to your kill speed. I've gone with 6 every time and manage ~2k cruor min in an hour.
