Well just toying around being hypothetical, imagine,
-At level 99 these become much easier
-After the "!!" mystery is solved, these become much easier,
-The pop items become solo/duoable
-The NM itself becomes 6-mannable
-You offer a 1m reward per fetch-item required, and find people to sell
If something like that became true, it might be viable to spend ~50m to get this portion of the trial done. You wouldn't need the any particular commitments and could essentially get it 'solo'. You wouldn't have to burn all your time in Abyssia in pursuit of the quest, as you could wait for the /tell to enter, then enter Abyssia, lot, and exit back out. In addition, you could use that extra time in Abyssia to farm your own pops/kills with friends, lessening the overall cost you would have spent.
Maybe a bit obscure sounding and obviously hypothetical, and certainly would suck if this was only one of several, potentially more difficult trials to get a completed weapon. But I wouldn't rule out something like this as impossible given that we don't know precisely what the future will bring.
Ok we all get the point, the weapons are hard to obtain and Square Enix sucks ball sack. Can we fucking get back to the content now.
We never had the invisible treasure chest issue in la theine last night, but we only ended up getting like 3 or 4 chests.
Anyone posted eyt the positions of the encampments in the zones?
Basically soloed Mangy-tailed Marvin on rdm/nin. I think any job can solo it that has movement speed+, shadows, and range dmg. Went in with 70 minutes and had it down to 10% hp with 10 minutes left when an alliance of blus came by with one of my LS mates in it, asked if I needed help. I said sure since my time is running out. Marvin wiped over half the alliance before he died as whirl claw was doing 600+ to everyone it hit.
Should use the kite method and just keep running around the brick walls just west of his spawn. Also don't run right next to the wall as he can hit you if you are next to it when he is on the other side. Move a little distance away from the wall when running around it. He paths very badly when moving to the other side of the wall. I would sometimes run back around and run into him with him doubling back when I wasn't looking where he was. He agros to sight and the other rabbits link by sight. You can also pull him a good distance away from his spawn keep dots up and lose hate so you can rest a few clicks for mp. Most annoying thing about the fight if you are kiting him is he will only do wild carrot since you are away from him. Wild carrot recovers up to 4k hp on him. He doesn't do it enough so you can't win but its just a pain in the ass to push him down when he keeps doing it. Poison stuck on him without any issues and my Bliz 3s were doing 450 per nuke.
On a side note has anyone found any Opo-opos in any of the zones?
Also, killing the mobs around the Cannered Noz spawn point we found a treasure chest with an Exorcised Skull. It has been said previously that CN himself drops the skull as well, this is definitely an easier way to obtain it if it isn't a rare find.
So much for thinking this would be a solo/duo expansion.
Would you then say that 2-3 black mages should be able to handle it no problem in an hour?
has anybody found the new dancer neck with dualwield bonus on it?
ause:
and wtf, man SE really fucked up hard on this. i guess this is their way of making their shallow watered down content seem like its actually good content by preventing us from blowing through it all in a night.
If the blms are smart about how they are playing so you aren't eating whirl claw or foot drop it should be a cake walk for 2-3 blms. Would be very easy if mp is low to lose hate on him and have just one blm kite him around while others rest their mp. If you do everything right I think 3 blms could push him down in 20-30 minutes. When I was soloing him the biggest problem was burning all my MP on nukes and then would just keep bio III and poison II on him while I waited for vert timer. Resting whenever I could lose hate and know that dots wouldn't wear or that he would completely reset so I won't have to worry about links to repull him. It seems you need to be more then 20' away from him to lose hate so movement speed is recommended but with more then one person I don't think it is needed. Plus you have stun to gain some distance on him if need be. 2-3 80 blm/rdm would make it even easier since you would have access to vert.
I'm beginning to suspect it's very likely that obtaining the pop item for Chloris requires doing the Tahrongi quest "A Sterling Specimen".
+A Sterling Specimen
Client: Ohbiru-Dohbiru (Central
Encampment, Abyssea - Tahrongi)
Summary:
Having redirected his efforts to the
study of the Abyssean ecosystem, a
researcher from the Rhinostery seeks
a live sample of a mutant strain of
mandragora for hands-on examination.
Speak with Kenapa-Keppa outside and
make your contribution to science!
One of Tahrongi's spawn points requires a chipped sandworm tooth and an overgrown mandragora flower. I don't get the impresion the overgrown mandragora flower could come from anywhere else since we know the regular mandies and mandy NM don't drop it. This quest also specifically mentions large "overgrown" mandragors.
The implications are that no one can spawn this NM until someone has enough fame for the quest. And also that other quests could reward NM spawn items.
Also it doesn't seem as though the areas VNMs are used within the areas spawned NM tiers.
Quick question just to clarify: Is Carabosse a VNM or not? If so, which tier?
The reason I'm asking is because someone on wiki is claiming it's a trigger pop.
(Leave the wiki bashing in the other thread, please. I'm just trying to confirm information before I pass it along to others asking.)
Since it can be difficult to read a few pages back:
Carabosse is a tier 2 abyssean fiend (not vnm), spawned by acquiring a key item from Baba Yaga, and a key item from La Theine Liege and triggering the pop at H6 ??? in AL(Abyssea - La Theine).
Oh... and wiki.
**I noticed from the cichy's screenshot someone asking how to check cruor.
Another quick way is to check the nearest Veridical Conflux. For those that have not already used these, it will tell you how much Cruor you have total as well as the cost to warp to each conflux you have activated, which will vary depending on your location. Costs to warp to a further conflux seems to range upwards of 150c. as I recall.
So I'm curious, has anyone had a chance to get the Teal Saio Set and got to test the fast cast potency on it?
Wiki related questions:
I still can't make new pages on the BG Wiki. Can someone start an Abyssea page so I can start translating the information? Can someone please finally give me the power to make new pages on the BG Wiki?
I plan on adding this information to both the BG Wiki and the otherwiki, and citing both by linking it to this thread. Anyone going to cry over that? Does anyone want specific credit or anything?
Are there any other threads that have Abyssea related information that I should be looking at before I start adding things?
