Well, I think it's more likely that it is related to the color obtained while fighting than the national or zone color, since the color matches exactly with that of the colors you get in combat.

Viridian, Azure etc are exact wording matches for the colors gotten via combat. And there mey be more to discover yet. On our last fight, we got an Ebon color light from a chest. 1st time we saw that in 3+ hours thus far, and only saw it once.

Anyway, more testing is obviously needed. The color thing is really easy to test: Take a TP burn party in, and just chain the mobs in the beginning area, making sure to use a ws as the finishing hit on mobs. That should result in a ruby>red>scarlet hue progression every time, if im right.

About the gray chests I mentioned before that was dropped from monsters we couldnt do anything about: Just read this on ffxiah now:

I got this the other day in Konschtat 3 times. Called a GM about it and he told me it was a legitimate bug and that the report was going to be forwarded to the dev team.

Or, you know, it's already been shown that the colors correspond to the zones, with Azure (Blue - Bastok) dropping in Dem, Viridian (Green - Windurst) dropping in Mea, and Scarlet (Red - San d'Oria) dropping in Holla.

People really need to read the thread, it's only a handful of pages long.

As far as the lights go, more testing is definetly needed, but after a handful of red boxes last night and having the golden glow on and off, I think it's relatively safe to assume that gold gives +EXP. Either that or it was a fluke, because gaining and losing gold on the same mobs all checking IT yielded drastically less EXP without it and considerably more with it.

edit: My results on the gold light aren't any sort of hard evidence, I had nowhere near enough kills to state this as positive fact, nor enough time left to do extensive testing the couple times I got it from a box. It's an observation that could easily be proven false, but there's the potential that the odd colors from the boxes (ebon, gold) have an impact on something other than the standard colors (never seen anything but ruby and pearlescent while killing in Kons)

Reading is hard. Did I say abyssyte? We have been talking about what the colors might represent, and that you get the hues based on what you do in combat. But since you seem to have already figured out the entire expansion, please enlighten us.

As far as this thread, no one has found an Azure abyssite of Soujorn, which is what we are talking about. And I guess its silly to think that abyssite would change color, since there arent already 2 systems that have that exact mechanism in place already....

From our run on sunday in La thiene:

[13:27:03]Salmijr's body emits a faint pearlescent light! killing blow was dd hit
[13:27:36]Salmijr's body emits a feeble ruby light! killing blow was ws
[13:28:12]Salmijr's body emits a feeble ruby light! killing blow was ws
[13:28:47]Salmijr's body emits a faint pearlescent light!killing blow was dd hit
[13:30:52]Salmijr's body emits a feeble azure light! killing blow mas magic
[13:31:10]Salmijr's body emits a feeble azure light! killing blow was drain
[13:33:21]Salmijr's body emits a feeble ruby light! killing blow was ws

There are many many others, but since we went in with 18, and were sometimes out of range of the other party, we had randoms colors pop up in chat. Like i said, not enough to form a basis yet, and my example with red is easy enough to test. At this point its silly to discount anything since we dont even know what triggers the !!s most mobs, let alone how the entire key item system works.

    *Sigh*

Ok, so I assume no one is going to get any of these weapons done.

I saw people commenting on how they are supposed to be hard to obtain.

    Relics:

    You can others currency.
You can obtain currency while helping others get gear.

    Mythics:

    You can buy Alexandrite.
Nyzul Points can easily be acquired by helping other people.
Ichor is obtained without having to manipulate/exploit a large group of people.

    Empyrean:

Have to exploit/manipulate an alliance of people to assist you and just you for months with absolutely nothing in return for them?

As it looks right now, you have to be as selfish as possible if you plan on ever completing "ONE" of these weapons.

OK lets say you can pop and kill a Carabosse in 90 minutes every 60hours or 3 days. You would need to have a group dedicate 37 and a half hours of there time in order to help you (assuming it always drops 2). This is just stupid. It would also take you 2 and a half months to get it done. This is unrealistic.

Due to time restrictions, what people want, what you have to do in order to even pop it, and how little is given, I see no one completing one of these weapons this update, or even this year.

If in fact you do even manage to finish there will be more trials after that will probably be just as stupid as this one.

    This shit is stupid.

There is no Azure Abyssite of Soujorn, which would probably explain why no one has seen it. If you were maybe presenting a theory based on something with even a trace of evidence (i.e. there being Ivory, Viridian, Azure, and Scarlet colors of a single abyssite), there might be a thread worth following. As it stands, there's already a reasonable amount of evidence to suggest that the color patterns correspond to the zone, and that's about the depth of complexity there is. Most of the Ivory abyssite doesn't even have matching abyssite of other colors.

Also, regarding the Azure Abyssite of the Reaper that was mentioned and found a page or so back, did you guys cause the NM to have !!'s at any point? We popped it a good 5 or 6 times last night, taking care to note the aura colors of the person popping and person killing on each kill, and never saw the abyssite on any kill.

One of our group got an abyssite when we killed the rabbit Nm, i'll ask which and what color. The only other key item we have gotten, was an atma from the tiger nm.

Wait, you have an Atma? Have you tried using it at the Atma Infusionist at the entrance or anything yet?

I'm guessing Atma gives a large amount of Cruor.

Need a lunar abyssite , atma, and cruor to infuse yourself. No one has found a lunar abyssite to my knowledge. We are popping the la thiene gigas NM boss next run, hoping the "zone boss" drops it.

That's the only atma reported so far. Did you receive any "!!" symbols on the NM at certain points indicating you hit its weakness? Do you happen to remember what the killing blow was like? Supposedly finding the weakness and the killing blow are important to obtaining atma so it would be helpful if you can recall. No one knows how to get a lunar abyssite yet, the NPC just says they're "significantly harder" to obtain. I think it may come from finishing one of the main line quests.

I think I'll have to clarify for all of you here, lol

Lunar abyssite is almost certainly obtained from a T3/4 Demilune abyssite, as that abyssite has almost exact same descript and all the demilune abyssites are described as being moon shaped. Probably just need to do T3 VNM in abyssea and the scarlet/viridian/azure demilune abyssite turns into Lunar. Something along those lines, might need to like trade in 1 of each abyssite to make it lunar to an npc or a ???, who knows but the demilune abyssites and lunar abyssite are most assuredly connected.

So far the ancient abyssites, the ones that are so far permanent, seem to correspond to zones. Each color = a zone, with ivory being global abyssites that function in all 3 zones.

As for colors of glow, I can already state that I have gotten all 2/3 of the different colors all in la theine.

Each color seems to represent the parties fighting style. As a dancer I get Azure when I am focusing on job abilities and melee, and I get scarlet when Im dropping wses and have saber dance up.

After hitting T2~3ish on glow I get a temp item. Generally it apepars the temp item you receive is connected to your glow.

My guess, scarlet glow = melee, azure glow = buff/tanking/healing or something, and viridian = magic

    Or something along those lines.

I think we were all too busy trying to stay alive, once we noticed the endoom effect on his hits, to really notice things. We didnt get the atma until it died tho, but yeah, looking at the NPC's speech, me must have hit it's weak point.

    Atma npc dialogue:
Atma Infusionist : For only the most savage creatures, you see, are known to yield atma.
And if you thought that weren't trial enough, only by employing special combat strategies will atma be yours to own.

Atma Infusionist : Atma-yielding monsters are known to have vulnerabilities that, if exploited, may result in a swift end to the confrontation.

Atma Infusionist : Strike at a foe's weakness, and it will drop different spoils, often more valuable than usual. Among them you may find atma.

Atma Infusionist : The vulnerabilities can broadly be divided into three categories: magic attacks, physical-based weapon skills, and magic-based weapon skills.

Atma Infusionist : For instance, there are monsters known to be weak against magic-based weapon skills. Inflicting such damage upon them will impair their movement, and you may consequently be rewarded with atma.

Atma Infusionist : All living creatures, however, possess the capacity to adapt, and vulnerabilities have been observed to change.

Be wary if you wish not to discover to your sorrow that a once-foolproof strategy no longer applies.

Atma Infusionist : Besting such fell creatures is in itself a harrowing task, and becomes even more so if procuring atma is your objective.

Tried Fistule in Konschtat to see how it'd go. Turns out not so well. It became targetable after dragging the NM pudding to it as said before. Tested with a regular pudding and it did nothing.

Details are a bit sketchy since during 90% of the fight i was kiting, but more on that later.

Seemed like a straight forward fight till around 75% when it split into 3, Fistule and 2 slightly smaller Pastules.

So ok we thought, kill the smaller ones then work on the big one. Well the smaller ones also split again. Also the smaller they get the faster they seem to get, i was kiting one from the first split and it kept up to me with 12% movement speed. However kiting it up and down the nearby cliffs really threw off its pathing. Once we got to regular size slimes, they were (supposedly) very fast.

Might be thinking ok, ignore the splits and just kill the NM. Well according to some ls members, the smaller ones were splitting regardless, not 100% accurate that is though. Also was getting message in the chat log that went like this.

    http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/4738/dddvo.jpg

Im totally unsure if it was when it hit 75% which caused the split or if it used Fluid spread for the first time, sorry.

Was overwhelmed in the end and wiped. Went back to untargetable after losing hate.

Well, a pustule is like a pimple to an extent. Is it possible it died from being hit by a crit or damage causing JA? They might be able to be dealt with as if they were chigoes splitting off of the main NM. It's worth a try, if nothing else.

For reference, there are 14 Fustule mobs in dats.

And a little tidbit because I'm not sure it's been mentioned:

Large mobs give a lot of XP but small cruror. Small mobs give half XP and double cruor.

So my ls and I discovered a potential way to solo decent amounts of crour, could solo about 1K crour in an hour.

First you need confluxes 1 and 6 unlocked in la theine. Grab about 4-5 willow rods before you enter.

First run to the middle camp near conflux 4. Right near it is the NPC joulet, who gives you a a quest to fix and transport a broken willow rod to his brother.

Run now to conflux #6 where gallijeaux is, who wil ltake a willow rod and you get 250ish crour.

Teleport to conflux 1 for free, zone in/out and repeat.

Fyi, the adamantoises in tahrongi are non aggressive (at least so far, to any known types of aggro), do not link with each other, are easy to nuke, and run slow. Might be nice manaburn targets... got 284 exp as a 73 pup off one, and 750ish bliz III took off 12% of it's HP. Maybe they'd make great manaburn or solo blm targets? Got 48 cruor as well.
