Dnc and drks are just all around really good for abyssea.
3 dncs, 2 drks, and a rng in my general runs for my ls, sometimes one of em swaps out for someone else, works extremely well.
3 dancer's have little problem at all keeping everyone alive, and the combination of a whopping 5 stuns lets us keep the epheremeal mobs almost perma stunned.
Stuns are just good to have period.
Used to get like, 700? 1K? A helluva lot more.
Nonetheless you can do 3 of them per stone so 750 crour for a solo run isnt so bad.
Nice to know. Once I get my group to list all their jobs for me, I'll be working out strats. If we had been able to stun the healing, we would've won NP.
How was the bee for your group? I thought about fighting it, but nobody really needs the drop atm so we skipped it.
The puk NM? you mean the one you pop with the winter puk egg? I haven't seen any info on that NM, but I have the trig.
I'll keep that in mind as well.
Has anyone found a use for the fish that you can obtain through fishing in La Theine? Maybe they're just there to get in the way of rusty items at the moment, but could be made useful later.
The bee spams pollen and the 100f ability dyna-tav bees use, frenzy pollen i think? By spam i mean it uses pollen, then 2 seconds later frenzy, then 2 seconds later pollen, etc. It somewhat keeps itself stunlocked by spamming so much, it's like if you're meleeing and uses 4-5 ja back to back, just can't do much while you're doing that. We killed it without too much trouble, just the dnc for stuns and i think he just random stunned, didn't try stunning tp moves, so pollen must not heal much. Only dropped stinger for us.
The puk is probably comparable to nis puk that pops at mamool ja staging point. Uses all the standard puk tp moves + III wind which gets pretty strong the last 25%, killed pld and sam only i think, no drop.
I don't suppose anyone's found a Moaning Vestige in Abyssea-Tahrongi have they?
Haven't seen it yet, although I assumed it was from a NM in the bog body area.
Ah that's true, I hadn't thought of Qutrubs. I figure whatever moaning vestige pops, drops shriveled pincer, as shriveled wing came from a popped NM.
Although we haven't killed it yet, I thought the Limule NM would drop the pincer since they're crab-like. There is a ??? in the middle of them (lower right corner of H-10) which asks for an HQ limule pincer at least. I thought it may follow the same trend as the clionid HQ part ~> shriveled item.
Ah-ha! See, that ??? wasn't listed in the OP here, and I haven't personally been to the Limules. Well, that solves that then.
Wiki says that the Qutrubs drop some sort of gunpowder item, although I haven't fought those personally so I'm not sure if it's accurate or not. If that's true, I wonder if the NM which is poped by that is what drops the vestige. If not... well I'm not really sure where else it'd be from. :<
I'm inclined to take everything the wiki with a grain of salt, and I don't think Gunpowder Swathe would be a pop item, as it stacks to 12 and is not rare. (Unlike every other pop item thus far) Not to mention, with the inclusion of the H.Q. Limule Pincer pop, that brings Tahrongi up to 15 ??? pos, 12 items and 3 key items. This is in-line with La Thiene and Konschtat now, meaning that I don't know if the Qutrub could drop anything other than moaning vestige to fit in.
Also, for your curiosity, monsters I don't think have been found yet:

Now, I'm not really familiar with any zone other than Tahrongi, and even there I feel I'm shaky, so feel free to point out errors.
There's a few holes in the Tahrongi system that are still unknown or I've missed reading somehow. I'd appreciate if anyone can offer some missing info.
Unsure of the following enemies NM trigger drops, if they have any:
-Beholders (hecteyes) - probably bloodshot hecteyes
-Bog Bodys (qutrub) - probably moaning vestige
-Vermes Carnium (sandworms)
-Thalassinon (turtles)
-Nematocera (gnats)
Following targets are still unknown in regards to what they spawn:
-moaning vestige at G-10
-high-quality limule pincer at H-10ish near limules
-bloody fang and exorcised skull at I-9
-chipped sandworm tooth and overgrown mandragora flower at F-5 probably Chloris.
-resilient mane smooth whisker at I-5
-bloodshot hecteye, shriveled wing, and tarnished pincer G-9
-veinous hecteyes eyelid, torn bat wing, gory scorpion claw, mossy adamantoise shell at I-8
-fat-lined cockatrice skin, sodden sandworm husk, luxuriant manticore mane, sticky gnat wing at I/J-6
I'm not paying as much attention to the other two zones right now, so I'm not sure what else is unknown there.
Isn't it likely that the "babies" that surround an already up NM don't drop any pop items?
Thalassinons are my usual target for solo, and they have yet to drop a goddamn thing other than a Beastmen's Seal.
The wiederganger sound like something which might drop the vestige as well. I'll make a note to check South-West of the scorpions next time in case they're wedged into a small area like the floating skulls.
Seems to me each pack of mobs aside from limules and theotherguys have an NM associated with their group, either popped or spawned.
If its spawned, that group of normal mobs don't drop anything special.
If its popped, the mobs surrounded the ??? drop the item to pop said NM
NM then drops gear + pop item to be used in a set to pop one of the more notable NMs. This includes key item NMs and multi pop NMs.
Im crossing my figner that the two key item ??? pops are the ones that drop the 50 items for empyrean weapons, and SE was nice enough to make it something along the lines of "everyone who has key item can click the ??? to obtain one of the items" which would make what would've been a giant dick of a quest actually managable and just at the right point of fun.
Personally I am kind of confused as to why they didnt just make it "kill chloris 50 times" like the rest of the trials. Would've been far simpler for shells.
