Yes Bloody Fang and Exorcised skull. As you can see, we had a full alliance and it was pretty easy. Worst thing it did was AoE accuracy down, and some light AoE wind damage, I think.
I forgot to mention we did Cannered Coz or w/e today too. The little corpselight that keeps repopping. Each time he repops, he gets bigger, seemingly less? HP, but his spell list gets stronger. Went from single target nukes, to -ga spells, to aoe enfeebles, to casting Death. The Cannered Coz that tried to cast Death was the one that stayed dead, if that matters any.
Has anyone fought Arimaspi? (Ahriman nm in Konschtat)
A JP friend told me it if flies high (like Tiamat/Jorm) and spawns copies of itself
Sounds hilarious so bring rngs/smns if you plan on popping it

I hate the game's RNG...

I posted the same complaint a few pages back. Yup it's epic fail, you need 4 or more people to use it to drain it to a fillable state too. I had 2 friends with me and we all used it that's not enough it needs to be under 900 (presumably) just below 900 though not sure of the exact number.
This quest is rather stupid considering people won't use martellos that often because they're only useable every 30 minutes.
Enter: Ringthree with the douchebag comment that serves no purpose.
And everyone is spamming quests for fame... fuckers are always 999/999.
Lame~
Is there some reason you want to do it? I guess it might count towards fame, but even if it does there's other repeatables that are actually doable. The progress npc doesn't count it as a completed quest though so I doubt it really matters. It's probably just to refuel martellos as advertised.
It does count towards fame... the NPC specifically says he would be more indebted to you for refilling Martellos that are further away from the main camp.
Oh, yeah, that reminds me. I found a greyed out Martello at 33% HP by the Gulch Limules in Tahrongi Canyon. Does that mean the Martello is unusable? I just ran right past and didn't think twice until now, but it was a "corpse" as it had fallen like a mantelet's death animation.
It would just be another thing to do when I go solo to burn off extra stones on days where I can't do it with a group.
Also, as I mentioned (in response to the poster above) I had friends drain the martello, it takes 4 people, I was in with three. If I'm in with a group I'm not worrying about a quest obviously designed for people in there for a short time doing a few repeatable quests.
So as someone with no experience in Abyssea, what's the most important item to take care of when entering? Extending time with stones? Quests?
Gathering Cruor... with which you can activate telepoints, teleport to said activated telepoints, purchase maps, purchase abyssite for VNMs, purchase gear, purchase key items, etc.
Sounds awesome like a plan, thanks.
Quests are pretty easy and yield 100~200 cruor or so, instead of the 20~40 cruor per solo kill on mobs. Assuming solo play.
I know la theine the best so I'll give you my to do list guide for it:
Looking at everything, here's what I've outlined as the steps to success:
First off, walk in with a 6 man group on your first run to farm your first 200~300 crour to get yourself started.
Second step is to unlock confluxes #1, #4, and #6, these are the camp confluxes and thus the most important for quests and etc.
Third step is to grab some willow rods and do the willow rod quest at the center camp (conflux 4) to get your fame up and earn some crour, go for a solid 1K to use as a crour buffer for teleing around.
Next step is to go around to all the npcs and unlock your quests and farm up more crour. Start doing said quests.
Looks like best thing to do is, during a willow rod run, take a comp rod + sinking minnow to one of the lakes and get yourself a few pieces of rusty equipment and do the rusty equipment quest at center camp, that'll net some nice crour if their prices have anything to say for it.
Build up a heaping pile of crour and buy the abyssite to lower your costs for teleporting between confluxes and the time extension abyssite.
By now you should have unlocked all 8 confluxes in the zone. Now you want to get yourself a clear demilune abyssite to work on the VNMs and then you can work on getting the crour armor, whatever set you are after.
And now that you can warp anywhere for cheap, have extra time, and a demilune abyssite, you can confidently work on abyssea end game much easier without all the hassle of running around.
Just wanted to see if you guys were interested in any info that might be on the JP Wiki.
Friend of mine wanted to find out where Lancer's Torque dropped today and asked me to check it out. I don't remember seeing it in this thread and it's not on our wiki, but JP Wiki mentioned it being on Chasmic Hornet. Did I just miss it or did nobody report it--seems like a lot of people have fought the hornet so far, no? If nobody here has gotten it, I'm thinking either low drop rate, or that it could be one of the items that result from the "increased treasure pool resulting from exploiting a mob's '!!' weakness" that one of the Abyssea NPC's talks of.
So if anyone wants to google translate that or ask for a translation of anything on there just lemme know. The NM names on there are written in English/Romaji.
Could someone make an Abyssea Guide thread or something (and lock it so no stupid comments, only info)
Wiki is slow as shit and some kind of centralized compilation guide would be nice.
Malacite: I'd say Cairthenn is doing a damn good job with the OP of this thread.
Speaking of Chasmic Hornet, is the Chasmic Stinger a sellable item? Or is it Ex? I haven't seen any pop on AH or in bazaars yet.
Should be able to bazaar Chasmic Stinger, but not sell on AH.
