According to that site, Haste+5 sTP+5 belt drops there too.
Is it normal that Cloinid's single Target nukes wiped my shadows >.>?
A little bit more information on popped NMs in Abyssea - La Theine. We found out, unfortunately, that the drop rate on key items from item-popped NMs is not as high as our first run might have suggested. After an hour of constantly fighting them as ???s reappeared (and only obtaining one of the two key items), we went after Puks and Poroggos, and their respective popped NMs.
The item from Puks, 'winter puk egg', is used to pop Nguruvilu. Uses standard TP moves plus Ill Wind, which deals high damage. No info on drops.
The item from Poroggos, 'bug-eaten hat', is used to pop Poroggo Dom Juan. Uses Frog Song and Water Bomb, and casts Waterga II and Poisonga II. Dropped Barcarolle medal (CHR+2, Singing skill+5).
That's strange that they put it in that zone and yet, yeah. Doesn't make sense.
I feel like I'm the only one who's inefficient at Abyssia, lol. But I guess it's valuable to give advice one what not to do.
Decided I would go in with 2-3ppl today and make it my objective to hunt down only Ephymeral mobs. Assuming I could at least kill one every 10 minutes, I figured it'd give me 250 cruor and like 800 exp like in La'Theine the other night, and that'd be a pretty good farm. Well..
First we went to Tahrongi, and after dicking about the zone for nearly 30 minutes, we found not a single glowy mob in the zone. So we went to Konschtat instead.
First glowy gave like 30 cruor or something. The wide range of cruor these give makes them really inconsistent. The levels of the glowies ranged from DC to VT at 80 and cruor varied from about 30 to 200. Widescan was an absolute must (obviously), though I was originally going to go in without it. But the walks were so long. Because of silly blunders, long walks (partly due to lack of having activated the teleporters yet), and nothing being done, the 3 traverser stones netted only perhaps 500-600 cruor. If urat is right and you can farm about 750 cruor per traverser stone doing the willow rod quest, I'd do that (if not doing something like a exp party or ls alliance cruor farm).
Tried some temporary items too. The 50cruor, 20% hp buff was, to me as a duo'er, a godsend. Took a 1k death scissors at one point which would have probably killed me otherwise. DEX/STR bonus was garbage. like 100+ cruor. Buff was only about 10-20 but since I was underwhelmed I didn't check the exact amount. Both buffs wore off after I teleported out of the zone, about 27/90minutes into our farm. And they didn't come back of course when I re-entered a different zone.
Can verify the small mobs giving more cruor. Fought two tough ghosts, one small and one large. The smaller one gave double the cruor and half the exp.
Did the Willow Rod quest for the first time last night and also triggered confluxes 1,4, and 6. Theoretically, wouldn't you garner more cruor by simply bringing like 50 Willow Rods, teleporting to the camp to get the broken rod, then teleporting to the far SE camp to return to the friend, then teleporting back to the entrance and exiting to repeat?
I should have written down the base teleport costs, but I want to say the total was like 180. While you get less cruor, you can complete each run in ~50 seconds vs. 6+ mins.
Got this a few days ago and was disappointed that it was a temp key item. Had my first death today and the key item was not used up. Permanent temporary key items I guess... No idea how much xp it saved, if any at all.
Also, mob size is inversely proportional to how they check. There were a couple of very large flans that checked DC at 80 the smaller ones were all at least EM. Noticed this with the saplings on the way to camp as well.
Oddly, at least for the Ephemeral Limule, the DC gave better xp and nothing was giving decent cruor today. 300/51, 750/28, 605/22, 510/18
I want to echo this as well. 0/10 on one set of the key items, 0/3 on the other.
On the plus side, you get exp/cruor for farming the pops and exp/cruor/drops for killing the NMs while trying to get the key items. Still makes it absurd to try to complete more than 1 person's empyrean weapon at once.
Anyone adding stuff from here to the BG Wiki?
I have lots of spare time and can help but I need to figure out what formats/templates people are sticking to since I do not have my own.
I just see so much important info all through this thread that should be easier to find in one place like the stuff the OP is updating, as more info is found.
Just knowing where you want things to be, what kind of format you use in bgwiki.
I can work on learning the different formats by looking into the tutorials.
I can edit screen shots for placing mob or map points of interest info as well.
So yeah, Need any help? let me know.![]()
Updates on Abyssea -Tahrongi Quests
Cleansing the Canyon rewards an Elixir and is not repeatable
After getting some fame, you'll unlock Savory Salvation, and Bringind down the mountain.
Savory Salvation will be able to be abused just as easily as the fishing rod quest. All you have to do is walk a little bit south past the scorpians to where the nutshell tree is, and go underneath it where the roots are to apply a special syrum. Then walk back above and grab the nut and return for a quick 200 cruor. This is repeatable. As an extra bonus, the NPC who gives the quest for Savory Salvation is inches away from the NPC who gives you the "Hardened Bone" quest. So basically you can stock up a bunch of hardened bones and pick a day to quickly solo a bunch of cruor.
You'd start off at entrance camp. You port to teleport 3 and you are now at the location of the two npcs. Talk to the hardened bone npc, and then trade the hardened bone to this npc immediately and you'll get 100 cruor. Then talk to the savory Salvation npc, walk south to the tree, grab the nut, walk back and cash in for another 200 cruor. Then warp for free back to the entrance, and zone at the maw. Come back in, and repeat how many ever times you possibly can.
Now the Bringing Down the Mountain quest i am a little confused with. The child Galka in the central camp wants you to find his older friend. You'll find this galka on the way east side just north of the blood bats. You'll talk to him, and he will now acknowledge his galka friend, but says he will not stop till the mountain comes down because he wants to get to Mhaura. He asks you, "don't you hear the voices? They are telling us to bring this mountain down. I will not rest till I get to Mhaura."
Clearly I have to trade something to him. Whether it's explosives I am not sure. I tried going to Mhaura during present time and talking to all the npcs, but to no avail. I even examined the spot in the present day where the mountain wall would be, but there is nothing. I think the hearing of the voices is key, but I'm not sure what I need to give him? maybe echo drops? Maybe a mhaura waystone? Maybe an explosive of some type? who knows.
The quests are the key to getting cruor. Later on (based on the descriptions) you'll unlock quests that have you going to each camp to talk to cardians, or examining the 4 signs on the dirt path etc. By having these all accessed at once, you will likely be able to gather even more cruor at a faster rate by doing a quick run of all the quests, zoning, and repeating. So lets try to figure these out.
It is not rare or ex. Killed it the other day with a group of 12 easily in about 2 or 3 min. Used Frenzy Pollen a few times, but wasn't to bad even with I think only 1 stunner. (It's Frenzy Pollen was not dispellable which I think is similar to other bees that us it). Shouldn't be to difficult with a group of 6.
Oh and it dropped 1 stinger, no other drops.
From the maint just now:
- The rewards for the quests "Unbreak His Heart" and "Fear of the Dark III" have been adjusted.
Were these being abused too? SE seems woefully unfamiliar with the content they're releasing, this being the second time they've adjusted quest rewards, presumably because they were "too rewarding".
Fear of the Dark III looked like a really gimped reward based on those stupid things drop rates and needing 3 >.>;;
If they nerfed them both even lower... wow
