Did you get all those time extensions through using the keys or were they just randomly given to you through killing mobs?

Also, were you just killing the mandies the entire time and nothing else, ie popping the thew bomblet NM?

i was invited by a LS member who had already been in for about 3hours (started with 3 stones), when i got there, they were only killing mandys, and they were repopping faster than we can kill them, we had 18 ppl in the ally, there was another alliance within /say range next to us, and i think a 3rd ally just around the bend.

if i had to make a guess, i'd say every 2-3rd mob would drop a treasure chest.

i originally went in using 1 travelers stone, and was kicked out 3hours 10minutes later.
entered with 120 Cruor(got 50 for visiting all 3 maws) used 50 to activate Conflux#1

when i went to Conflux7 to activated it, i had already earned about 28,000 Cruor.

we must have opened 10-15 1000Cruor Chests, 1250 EXP chests and idk how many 10Minute Extensions ><

right before we got Booted, this was the last kill we got
Reddwarf gains 342 limit points. it started around 90exp a kill, working its way up after every mob. for what its worth, it starts out slow, stick with it. and just murder everything you can.

edit: afaik, no keys were used to open any box.

Quick quesiton. Any mobs in abyssea Charmable?

I can honestly tell you from the three times I've done Abyssea that the first 60 minutes of the 90, the exp and cruor and chests aren't the best. It's in the last 30 minutes that everything ramps up. Also if you exit/re-enter, it appears to reset. Someone who was getting 360 exp went back to 80 after a re-entry.

I believe that the exp and cruor and chests are time based.

We did not use any keys to open chests. We just manually opened them.

Mobs were dropping a ton of chests, towards the end it seemed every mob gave us a chest. The leader and the chest openers stopped opening light chests towards the 3 hour mark and focused only on time ext, temp items, items, cruor, and exp.

There were about 15 cruor chests and exactly 25 time extensions. I lost count on the number of exp chests but you do the math, level 76 to level 80 and was beginning to merit.

18 man = super grind mobs = mroe xp = more cr = more box = more time up

usual group just go for triggers and NMs and kill lesser = lesser box = lesser time up

it seems like i should try form up a CR alliance now :D

There is a bit of luck involved, as my group found out, So its not always going to be super awesome =(, if you get unlucky on Time-chests, or chests period it could go to crap >:\

that is true but the "61st to 90th min" is when bonus ramps up is a really good find

and i also do believe time up appear after 1 hour because i been doing abyssea almost everytime its ready, but only 1 hour per run.........and i have not seen any time boxes or crazy chest spawns

That sounds pretty awesome. Now to see if this was just a lot of luck on your part, or if it can be reliably reproduced somehow. Were you at a full alliance of 18 most or all of the time? Did you stick to just one type of mob? Nothing else was remarkable or different?

Abyssea keeps becoming more and more awesome. I can easily see players becoming very powerful once a full party has gained all the Ancient Abyssites, Atmas, and cruor buffs.

I think you may need a certain key item to get time extensions?

90 minutes, not a single time ext. Tons of cruor, exp, temporary items, hp recovery..

My group was full of pick up people, bsts, pups, etc, exp got up to about 300 by the end, but I think that was because they kept moving around instead of pulling from the same little spot. Was fun for what it lasted, wish I had gotten time extensions though :<

Ended with around 27k exp, and 5k cruor, wasn't too bad.

We killed 1 Canyon Eft at the entrance, then we killed 1 Bloody Bat, then we ran to the podium camp and sat there and killed non-stop. We had a full alliance to start but then people started to d/c. Typically had 3 or 4 people not at camp either d/cing or new person swapping in or grabbing new gear.

I don't know if it was crazy luck or if someone was secretly holding some key item. Everyone seemed extremely surprised at the time chests and no one had an explaination. More than half of us were new to Abyssea. It has been my 3rd visit there.

Honestly either enter with 3 stones or don't enter at all. The last 30 minutes of the 90 minute entry are what makes this a viable option. The chest spawns seem to go up a ton and the rewards do as well.

After the 3rd hour mark all the chests became the "best outcome" chests. Instead of getting 1~4 temp items in the chest, everyone would get automatic ALL temp items in their inventories. The potion, the ether, the elixir, the champ drinks, everything. All the cruor chests were giving 1000 cruor. All the exp chests were giving 1250 exp.

Now, as we neared the 6 hour mark, things changed. We weirdly got a 200 cruor chest. Also an exp chest for 1000 exp instead of 1250. Also, the last 30 minutes apparently no time chests popped at all.

Take from this what you will. This is only a one time experience out of the 3 I've had.

I see nothing in the dats whatsoever about time extensions, but I may not be looking hard enough.

My linkshell has done several hour and a half long crour/exp burns, have farmed and killed tonnes of mobs, have sat in one spot and wiped everything out repeatedly.

Yeah we were starting to get exp in the 300s with a full alliance, but never once in the hours and hours of farming have we seen a single time extension.

Not only are the things you're saying, first that you got time extensions after only half an hour, and others saying that 1 stone lasted them like 3 hours, but at the same time saying that you don't get anything good til the 60~90 mark, but when combined with the fact that my ls has never once gotten a single time extension chest ever despite the fact we have grinded shit tonnes of mobs ourselves for up to damn near 2 hours straight, I think there's only 2 options:

A: this is all bullshit, I haven't seen evidence to back it up other than a pic of a large chest, and even then if anyone knows its me that its not that hard to shop a ffxi chatlog, hell you can do it in paint if you watch your pixels

B: there is some kind of prerequisite your group has met no one else did that triggered the ability to get exp chests.

Do you guys have lunar abyssite? Do you have any abyssites of note, specifically the luck with chests abyssites, maybe someone in your group has one of the luck with chests abyssites and that allows you to get time extensions.

Does anyone have an infused atma? Was there anything of note about the group that separated you from the average alliance?

As much as Id like to see a pic, I know the minimal effort it takes to shop a ffxi chat log in minutes. /echo what you want to add and tint colors, boom you got added stuff to the log.

Only key item I have is the lower exp one I got from soloing those glowing thingies in konschtat. I opened all of our chests.

I try to get SSes and parses + provide all the info I have possible before making a big claim like this. I learned my lesson before about using too small of sample sizes so refuse to make any kind of claim before I am at least an accuracy of 1% on any form of parse or test. This is why I haven't stated anything about macarons/rusks yet, Im only at a 5% accuracy.

Only claim I had that wasn't backed up was my first in fishing about the friend with the rings and etc, and instead of testing it before claiming it I went on his word he wasn't cheating. And we saw how that turned out. I won't make the mistake of not vigorously testing anything before I state it for sure again XP

What color was the chest, do you or anyone in your group have any notable abyssites, what were you fighting at the time, did anyone think to SS something as huge as a time extension at the time, etc etc

Yep a few members have had this. I don't know what joachim's limit but I don't think SE ever said he had one, just us. IF I were to stab in the dark Id put it at 7 to match campaign ops, but it could be infinite for all we know.

For people who have gotten time ext chests: What key abysites did the openers have?

People have posted long ago about getting +10 minute time extension chests, but it always seemed very rare. Someone posted before about getting a -1 minute penalty for failing to open a chest as well. I'm sort of wondering if you just hit some magic number of mob kills at some point which kicks all these bonuses into effect or what.

I know I had no key items. I know that all the new people (which were roughly 6-10 people who had to get CSes) had no key items. I know that the leader and the 1 JP person who came along had no key items. Unless one person had a key item and was keeping it to themselves about it, I don't see any key items.

A taru in the group, Wobi, he was the only one confirmed to have a key item but he grabbed it as we were waking to the camp, and that was the one that gives a 3 min time ext per stone for 6000 cruor.


The time extension chests in Tahrongi were ALWAYS blue. They always said 'you sense a familiar stone' inside the chest when you "peeked".

I understand you want to call this bullshit. I have almost all the names of the people who went in for this particular group.

Edit: Also there's a picture showing a 5:00 timer on the alla forums somewhere. Too lazy to link it. You might think it's a five minute marker but there's also the mob giving 330 some exp.
