    Tried Bugards in Konschat today with a full alliance. We did get great exp but we never got any TEs. We had a full alliance for the first 90 minutes, and then around 10 who had time saved up after that. By the end we had hit 550 exp per mob, but hadn't got any TEs. We had hit a few 1k exp/cruor mobs.

    As far as I can tell gold/ebon/silvery only come from chests. Gold appears to give you an exp bonus, from what I could tell. exp was going up by 1 or 2 points per mob, but once we got that it suddenly jumped up by 20 exp for each of the next few mobs.

    I'd make the assumption that silvery is cruor bonus and ebon is perhaps chest bonus, but that's a wild guess.

    One possible issue with our group today is that we had no magic damage. The 2 mages we had (a BLU and BLM) were on chest duty, and so never touched any mobs. So, we never got any azure lights until right near the end where the BLM nuked randomly.

    Interesting theory that those colors affect chest drops of that type. We did see a lot of red chests, and less blue, but that could be purely coincidental.

    Will make sure to bring more mages next time...

    Something I haven’t been able to figure out on myself (and whenever I try asking people in alliance I can’t get any coherent answer) is whether it makes a difference in xp/cruor obtained for each person if people in your alliance are lv75 or 80?
    Xp in Abyssea seems to behave differently to rest of the world, so I’m curious if you had 17 people all level 75 and one person level 80, would that cut the xp/cruor return for 75’s?
    Or would having 17 people lv80 and 1 person lv75 affect xp/cruor in any way? Would the 75 get less?
    So far, in the runs I’ve been in people insisted on Level Syncing so that xp doesn’t get ‘gimped’ for lower levels, but I don’t see any grounds for that/hasn’t been able to confirm.
    Anyone has more information about it other than assumptions and superstitions?
    I’m not interested (as in: that’s not part of my question) in how it works for the first 5-10 mobs you kill in alliance (but how it works when ‘chain’ kicks in), nor how it works for low-man group. Do you guys go in in alliances of only 80’s? Do you Level Sync? When synced to 75, do mobs repop scaled to 75, or they pop as Incredibly tough to lv80?

    Do you mean the bonus got added permanently to your chain, or was it only a temporary boost and reverted to lower xp after those few mobs?

    our alliance got 75-80, we dont sync

    when i was getting 490 XP at lvl 76, my lvl 80 friend said shes getting 510ish, that should answer your doubts

    as for bonus, i only seen XP get higher and higher, because like i said, we are getting alot of red boxes to a point that we had 7-8 red boxes lying around always.......... XP never went down

    anyone mind or interested to try a magic killshot oriented group? like 3 BLUs just doing magic kill shots(physical BLU magic is considered magic kill too) and ssee if massive blue but lesser red boxes pop? i know this may decrease your cruor and XP (since i can almost confident to justify that red boxes lights gives XP/cruor bonuses) but im sure it can shed some light to the "Light" theories

    i know i should test it myself....but if someone has already planned to do this, then it will be good for us all! hehehe

    JUST IN: LS mate went to a BLM burn alliance with some melee tanks, did a 1.5 hours /shout group..... they had one TE box, which brings them to 1hour 40 mins, and they only get 100 xp per mob when they got ejected. They got alot of blues than reds(prolly DD tank kills?), but they not really killing fast enough to have many boxes laying around

    can almost confirm that red boxes holds the lights to XP/cruor bonus(prolly some other bonus we didnt notice since theres more than 2 kind of lights from red boxes)



    reading back to the first group that stayed in 6 hours in BG, they only get 360ish XP per mob after staying inside 6 hours....this is very slow progress if you ask me, but this also means they are getting less red boxes and alot of blues for a shot at TEs, which eventually make them stayed in 6 hours, and a good balance of 360ish XP per mob

    looks like we need a perfect mix of red and blue lights kill shots!!!!!

    being said, we still need to find wtf pearlescent light does....

    Just did 16BLM+2BRD JP /shout pickup on Rock Grinders in La Theine Plateau. We got Azure light on each kill, TE chest started popping after only 30 minutes killing (8 TE chests total), and only got 4 red boxes + 1 gold box through the run.

    This would've been killer IF we didn't aggro Megamaw Mikey and had to kill him which reset the chain, and there's also a Clionid roaming you have to be careful about not to -aga. I'd suggest 4BLM+COR+BRDorSMN PT setups for the highest Refresh possible.

    Max exp. we got per kill was 250ish, but the chain was reset 5 times during the 3-4 hours due to idiots aggroing the Clionid or Mikey annoying us.

    All in all not a bad way to exp BLM.

    3-4 hours yielding only 250ish xp per mobs on a BLM only alliance sounds about right

    so it seems that everyone from a start will have a minimum chance of a red/blue box it seems since even a full BLM ally like the above poster can get some red boxes, unless for some reason they kill mobs with a melee killshot from BLM or brd XD. They prolly activated 1 of the light from 1 of the 4 red boxes that trigger the chance to pop gold boxes, and hence ONE gold box spawned the entire 3-4 hours.

    and also it seems like xp bonus does increase per kill even w/o red boxes

    so looking at pattern:
    1. red box = xp/cruor (slight?) bonus multiplier lights, and/or prolly something else that we havent figured out
    2. very high tier azure lights will make timer appear much sooner
    3. "chain" does break from different mobs
    4. you need a very good mix of melee kill and magic kill to get high end XP + stay in abyssea
    5. pearlescent light from WS kill shots is still a mystery because im sure there is no WS kill shot from zephr's alliance, and they still getting decent XP boost overtime and TE boxes

    I'm not certain you need a "good mix of melee kill and magic kill to get high end XP + stay in abyssea

    My group had 2 BLMs, 2 RDMs, but was pretty sleep/cure/chests only for those. We did have one BLU mage, rest was DD, but melee damage probably outweigh magic damage like 20 to 1 or more. But we were buried in chests, entered with 90 minutes, stayed for 6 1/2 hours, and left with 120 minutes remaining.

    The red chests never seemed to give any TE, I think it was those darker ones (Sturdy Pixys?) and some of the blue ones, that gave the TEs.

    all of the chests are called sturdy pyxis. also, there's only 3 colors afaik:

    red (pressure lock): various lights
    blue (high/low): temp items, TEs, HP restore, EXP, cruor
    gold (similar to treasure caskets): real items and augmented equipment, NM pops including key items, temp items

    I've only gotten Golden light once, and it was from opening a red box that gave us I think 1k XP, maybe golden light = opening a box with no unsuccessful/incorrect guesses?

    Red boxes don't give exp, only light. If you peer between the crack you can see what kind of light is inside.

    1. You can peer inside the box and see what light is inside before you even start working on the box, and it doesn't change.

    2. Lights come from red boxes, which do not involve "correct/incorrect guesses".

    So basically SE wants us to balance our parties and include the black mages in on the exp to get the good stuff?

    I never bothered peering inside lol. Does that work with the TE boxes as well? That's probably how they knew which ones to use the keys on.

    blms , maybe, I would personally put my money on people actually begging BLU's to come to something finally besides nyzul.
    Blue boxes are the ones I hear you want to aim for. Blu's can easily sneak in the last hit even in an alliance. They do it all the time at campaign. Fast casted, high dmg.

    I don't follow. Are you working with the assumption that magic kills cause Blue Chests to drop more often? I have not observed that to be the case at all. It has seemed pretty random to me so far.
