Yeah, a Disseverment kill definitely gave azure light last night.

sounds like blu burns will be making a come back
My group stuck with pearlscent light for at least the last 40mins of Tahrongi, we only had 2 blms with us by then (RDM and WHM as the last option for magic kill shots-- which they weren't doing), one was on sleepga duty and the other on chests. We still managed to get Blue chests every 2-4 kills with faint Pearlscent light, they were mostly restore chests though, not a single TE. The ratio of chests was like 4B:2R:1G too if that matters, and we had 2 pullers pulling from far too, as the blm was just sleepga-ing the repops nearby.
I think Square was definately trying to set things up so that you bring a mixed bag of jobs to Abyssea. That's probably why the NM weaknesses seem to be different types all the time. It's the same idea they tried to do for Einherjer really. Make it so you never know what jobs you'll need.
Whether this is a good thing or the players will actually wind up playing in that manner remains to be seen.
Back on the topic of lights, I'm gonna repost this again because I think it bears repeating.
Notice how the colors are split up into how many strengths they have. I also don't recall ever seeing anything above a "mild" strength light; either in person or mentioned in these threads. So a remaining part of the puzzle is how to increase their strength and what the purpose is.[a faint/a mild/a strong] pearlescent, golden, silvery, ebon
[a feeble/a faint/a mild/a strong/an intense] azure, ruby, amber
Something that might be worth noting is that there was some new status added (I think this update) called "Transcendency". Description for it reads "You have attained transcendent power." Maybe there's some way to keep increasing one type of lights strength until it grants "transcendency"?
And just one last thing. I'm starting to realize how relatively useless Cruor really is. After you buy the gear you want and the Ancient Abyssites, there's really nothing left to do with it but buy temp items.
Guess you don't use Confluxes then. And just one last thing. I'm starting to realize how relatively useless Cruor really is. After you buy the gear you want and the Ancient Abyssites, there's really nothing left to do with it but buy temp items.
even if you do they are relitively cheap(after you buy the "upgrade") and you break even with a mob or two....my guess is that it will come more into play with more updates/new expansions/ level increase. Its just like every other "currency" out there. What can you get with ISP???? only a couple worthy items and then after that you spend it on ISNM or just stock pile.
Im hoping that with level increases they will come out with a new type of exp ring that does stack with emperor/ess bands. like allied ring/ moogle ring or some other useful item that has rechargable enchantments or something.
I have an interesting question.
What happens to a lvl 30 that you bring to the zone (since you only need to be 30+ to enter)? Sure they cannot fight any mobs, but they can pop chests. Perhaps this could be a viable way to level subs you would never use?
The xp penalty at such a low lv would probably make it not viable but it's pretty easy to test out real fast. (guessing leeching xp as a lv 30)
Lowest lv I've seen mobs were like DC to 75 so you can probably start to xp in abyssea in the 60's.
My opinion on the light is that they dont cancel out as you kill but accumulate over time. Or constantly keep updating itself and maybe if the alliance can max out on all types of light it will spawn more chest and of all types.
What's the minimum level to enter Abyssea? While the EXP from mob kills appears to be affected by level (has anyone figured out if it scales identically to standard EXP parties yet?), the chests clearly are a fixed amount. A low level mage that can do some backup healing (while staying the hell out of harm's way) and then being put on chest duty might be able to net a fair amount of EXP if the chests are decent. Could be helpful for a group that's short on healing.
Edit: Holy crap, I haven't refreshed the page in 20 minutes. My bad.
Do the mandragoras in Tahrongi use Dream Flower?
I never saw them use it once when I was there killing for about an hour. I'd assume they can't.
