Randomish Abyssea question - but I've noticed several familiar NPCs in Abyssea (such as Ayame).
Are these the Vana'diel NPCs exploring Abyssea, or are they Abyssea versions of these NPCs (which would imply Abyssea is kinda of a a parallel universe)?
Time to start saving for that 2M cruor key item and see what it does? Seriously though, it never hurts to have cruor stored, the Abyssites aren't permanent items, we might eventually lose them and might need to rebuy them again? (speaking about Sojourn specifically) in a few weeks 6k Cruor will be chump's change, so it won't be that bad.
As someone mentioned you still use it for Confluxes or stock on keys. Also I'm not sure who was it, you or Cairtheen who posted some debugs about obtaining and losing Abyssites when killing NMs (I think it was during the comparison that Abyssites are called Jaides or something with jp spelling) it could be that just as random NMs give Abyssites you can only have a max set# of Abyssites you and the next abyssite adquired makes you lose your oldest abyssite? This is all speculation but if you were to eventually lose your Abyssites, you would have to buy the ones you want to keep/use for your mileage in Abyssea and having alot of cruor would make this easy.
On another note; I went Tahrongi to exp off mandies yesterday for 1:30mins and we never got a time extention. Before we left in the last 15mins another group came and camped on top of us, a friend joined that group that camped on us 30mins later, I just talked to him and he said they stayed for 3.5hrs, and that time chests were pouring in after the 30mins mark for him. Could it be that the 1st group "warmed up" the mobs for the 2nd group to get TE chests and since they literally camped on top of us the mobs were ranging IT++?
Our group went in @8:00pm, second group came in @9:15sh or so, my friend joined around 9:40-9:50 he said chests were droping after the 30mins mark for him, but killing had already been going on for a while.
Has anyone gotten an amber light that wasn't from a chest? Seems somewhat strange that it seems to be classified with ruby and azure, and pearlescent is different.
So maybe having 2 alliances side by side mass slaughtering everything in site would produce even faster exp, as the monsters are dying even faster thus getting "leveled up" faster?
Im pretty sure the camps can easily support 3 parties, each.
Cruor might have a use with the release of the next add-on, too. I wouldn't discount it just yet.
Looking at JP Wiki, it looks as if some of the missing abyssite key items are from Quests. E.g. Scarlet Kismet (The bearer will experience greater fortune with blue treasure caskets in Abyssea.) from Out of Touch quest.
There's a girl in my LS that had a total of over 100k cruor last night, and she's bought at least 100k worth of gear to sell on the AH, so has gotten enough for 10% of the 2m item cost in around a week. Someone fixed on getting that key item could probably do it in a few months.
It also appears that some of the other nifty abyssite (Azure Abyssite of Celerity-Makes stones be produced quicker) are randomly got from NM kills (in this case, Bakka imp in Konschtat).
Both types of Ephermal monsters in Tahrongi also appear to give a chance to get abyssite, as well as Eph. Clionid in Konschtat... It could be that all Ephermal monsters have a chance (must be hellishly low) to get a specific abyssite.
Crude copypasta from JP wiki's information:
Traverser Stones replenished quicker = Bakka (NM-Konschtat)
Increases number of stones you can carry = Eph. Clionid (Tahrongi)
Increased chance of blue chest = Out of Touch quest (Reward)
Increased chance of gold chest = Eph. Limule (Tahrongi)
Scarlet reduced EXP loss = Mangy Tailed Marvin (La Theine)
More EXP per kill = Chasmic Hornet and/or Piasa? JP wiki unsure.
More Cruor per kill = Fear Gorta NM (Konschtat)
Increases HP and MP and other beneficial effects. = Bhumi NM (Tahrongi)
All of these seem to be a low chance to get on kill, AND it's one person only, not the whole alliance will get it.
Eh??? This doesnt sound good to me lol?? Sounds to me like my stones will hold less than 30 minutes then???Azure Abyssite of Celerity
Description:
Obtained By: Obtained by killing Bakka. Random chance to obtain.
Notes: Renders the bearer's traverser stone more rapidly replenished.
Anyone know for sure what this means?
The more cruor/kill abyssite was confirmed to have dropped to the whole alliance I thought?
Hey, if I can get my next stone that much sooner, then hot damn.
