I mean, there's no problem with inviting outside people, especially since this is pretty much an exp event. You're not picking up random people to go kill fafnir, you're picking up random people to fucking EXP. Are you going to invite a brd to an exp pt, and deny them the right to lot beastmen/kindred seals?
If you want to be all me me me me only, then have the people to back it up, and don't invite outside people.
It's fun how Abyssea is quickly becoming this odd looking monster that's about Alliance burn and taking people from 37 to 80.
I hardly believe this is what SE wanted...
I just hope they don't nerf it. I don't want to be premature, because we don't know if there's an Absolute Virtue in the closet, but it really looks like Abyssea is the best event SE has ever made, and it's a perfect event for this stage of the game (the twilight years).
Do all blood pacts count for azure light?
I got a pick up abyssea the other day and as all the other one I have gone to I assumed that it would be half decent to crap xp for 90min i was in there. But I was quickly porven wrong.
Went went to A-Tahrongi and killed mandys. Took about 15-20 min for everyone to finally get the the camp area b/c most had to walk. It wasnt the ideal set-up for an alliance so I wasnt expecting much. We had 2 pld, 2 blm, 2 smn, 5 rdm, and a RANDOM assortment of DD's. Had a whm but he (faked) d/c just before we went in so we had 17/18 when we really started. When we were /sh reqruiting in WG we took first-come-first-serve at first but once we got to about 13/18 we started shouting for specific job types (healing, support, ect)
When we first started killing mandys we were getting 0 exp/crour for first handful or so then they started popping IT++ and then the exp/crour started flowing. Since this was a pick-up alliance trying to organize kills so to focus on a specific light was just futile and after trying/yelling at ppl i finally just gave up. It turned out to not be as bad as i thought it was going to be.
Our first TE came at about 30min into killing and were pretty far between drops at first. It wasnt until about the 100min mark were we were starting to see lots of TE chests. At one point we got 3 TE in a span of 5 mobs. I stopped counting TE chests after 14. We got probably 65% blues chests, 25% brown chests, 15% red chests. We got 1 mega chest that gave a temp-megalixir. We had a JP smn on chest duty and this guy used a forbbiden key on almost every chest the entire time, it wasnt till the last hour or so that he started rationing his keys....crazy JP's. Anyways we had 3 800 crour and 3 750 exp chests and the rest were 1000crour and 1250 exp it never went back down once we reached those. Got lots of augmented items and several sell able ones. Orc. ore, 2x durium ore, unicorn horn, water ore, pro V were the notable ones that dropped.
At the end a 5 hour run with still at least 60 min left on visitant status we called it quits. 1. JP's were tired and 2. we were down to 13/18 and kills were getting slow and exp was capping at around 320/kill. I ended up getting rdm from 77-80 + 27k buffer and 30k crour in those 5 hrs. which ended up averaging 40k/hr ish.
Posted this to show that this strengant/uptight alliance job regulation and killing style isnt necessary to get a good run in. Yes it will make it a better more profitable run, no questions there, but not necessary.
I think there are already some shells on Quetz that are selling leech spots to Abyssea XP groups. You can keep a good kill speed with 14-16 (or less), especially if everyone's at or close to 80, so I'm not surprised.
<3 Abyssea. Last night I took BLM from a hair into 77 to capped exp with 2 merits in a few hrs via alliance exp. I didn't parse, but I went from 78-79 in 41 min according to logger. We quit exping at about 585 exp a kill on large mobs and went to pick off a few NMs before calling it a night. The best part was it was fun as compared to any other BLM exp I've ever had (leveled pre-ToAU). 2-3 chest poppers depending on how many were sitting up.
Shut up, before they hear you.
Actually I think this is what SE wanted, because it's a great way for a lot of people to hit 99 without having to constantly adjust current EXP camps, and it increases their revenue by getting more people to buy the add-ons. It's win-win really and they'd be out of their minds to mess this up.
Abyssea is the best fucking thing ever from the rewards right down to the theme of it.
Spoiler: show
You know it's kind of amazing how obvious it is but it only just occurred to me last night that the 3 cruor gear sets loosely correlate to the light colors. Teal/blue for azure damage. Pearl/white for melee damage. And ruby/red for weaponskills.
wat lol i hate storyline debates but

Question has anyone tried setting up old school skill chain and magic burst in Abyssea? It really seems SE is leading us back to that play style and giving possible benefits/rewards for doing so just seems so many boost in job traits for just that have been given curious if any taking advantage of it?
