    Got out of a good run a few minutes ago. Kills were fast, and azure light stacked up quick. Unfortunately we got unlucky with chest pops, only getting a total of about 5 the entire run.

    We had 3 temp item blue chests, a restore blue chest and an ebon light red chest. Red chest popped while attempting to get ruby light after azure capped, but we didn't get a single ruby light message the entire run.

    We did melee damage only kills after a while of not getting ruby lights, and got a number of pearlescent light messages. Even though we worked on pearlescent light for about 20-30 minutes, it didn't have any discernable effect on the amount of chests we got. I don't run a parser, so this is all just based on what I saw in there, but I hope the info can be of some use.

    Mentioned about 2 pages back but I believe this is the closest working model of how light works.

    Not 100% sure on pearl light, but it's possible. I agree with the rest though, as when focusing on azure light from start, the first chest that pops is always at top teir or close to it. It might be that they affect % chance of what chest appears, and either pearl light (or how high the chain is) affects the % chance of any chest appearing. So you need both the high amount of pearl light, or high chain (or both) to boost % chance of any chest appearing, and then the color of light kill affects the chance of what colored chest actually appears if it's azure/ruby/(maybe amber). Of course, there's always a base chance for the other colored chests to appear, but lets say an azure light kill makes the probability of the chest that pops 90% blue/5% red/5% gold, or something like that, whereas a pearl light would make it something closer to 40% blue/40%red/10% gold.

    x.x sometimes I wish you could buy instruction manuals for events that tell you all the secrets in exchange for a lot of effort in that event or something lol.

    My PT had its cruor yield from boxes reset to 200. No new people added to pt although one of the big dd's got kicked out.

    A couple of days ago I was in a group where we had all the dd get off a mob and one designated melee did the WS/DD kills. (We also had a designated magic killshot person) It SEEMED to go really well we capped exp out at 600+ so I don't know if the above situation is related to this.

    And almost all the japanese groups i've gone with opt with building pearlescent > azure > ruby.

    This is the best course of action. Pearlescent to make it so every mob u kill regardless of KS is a chest. Then Azure focus every chest into blue for TE. Then Ruby light to get red chest to upgrade xp/cur/gold chest.

    I've had some frustrating issues with people having the idea that ruby/azure/pearl lights overwrote eachother... so they peeked inside every red chest and refused to open it unless it was Azure/Gold/Silver. They also claimed Ebon light made everything worse by apparently reducing exp/cruor. Needless to say, we got 1 extension (very early on) as we only let mages get killshots and we timed out.

    I also cosign this mentioned list of light effects

    Azure = Tier of Blue Chests
    Ruby = Tier of Red Chests

    Silver = Cruor Cap

    I read on a Japanese site that the effects of gold/silver/ebon vary by what 'tier' you've been built up to:

    Gold increases exp at 5/10/15 intervals
    Silver increases cruor at 1/2/3
    Ebon increases exp 1/2/3 (and cruor+3 at the highest tier)

    (Anyone have an explanation for why our alliance's cruor yield suddenly got reset? We didn't get any replacements)

    Just got out of another 6+ hour mandy slaughter.


    Based on the light we got this time I'm almost sure Amber is related to gold chests, We got far less amber light and got far less gold chests. We did manage to cap exp this time though, we couldn't get any golden light last time, most red chests had amber.

    Last two time we went in we focused on Azure til we hit tier then Pearlescent. It doesn't take that much Azure to cap out on that, usually 20ish kills and we'd hit top tier? Of course there would be occasional other Azure kills throughout or from chests but they didn't seem needed. Though when we had to replace a few people we recapped Azure because we weren't getting as many top tier chests from the new people. Only took about 10-20 magic kills to cap for them. (Might have been some from chests too.)

    So, my experience in xp/cruor farming is limited, but so far, my luck taking shouts has not been good. Both shouts I've taken were full alliance, with focus on azure to start. Both groups major fail on time extensions. One and none. It appears now, from what I've read that after about 20 kills to max blue box tier, we should have been switching over to pearlescent focus for box drop frequency increase. Then, finally switch to red box focus. That sound about right?

    Also, bats, mandies, lizzies, birds, maybe buggards seem to be prime focus mobs. Any others good? I'll say this much, whoever recommended funguars, imho, is dead wrong lol.

    Anyone been successful with this, with a smaller group, or is full alliance pretty much required?

    So the current hard cap for EXP is 600, right? What about Cruor?

    Smallest I've been told managed it was 8.

    highest cruor i've seen is 82 as i can recall.
    *which doesn't say anything about a current cap but for the longest time i thought it was 70, and then we broke that.

    Now that i think about it, doesn't cruor vary amongst the mobs? It'd be hard to give a set cap in that case unless mobs were tested and then grouped together into categories or whatever.

    Now this kind of thinking seems a lot more plausible to me. Can we say that the light killshot = chest color thing is definitively disproven now please. If you just observe the lights correlated to drops you'll see it seems like blue chests are just incredibly common despite whatever light is used.

    Kill shot lights definitely effect chest type (but mostly the tier of that chest type).

    Or are you just purely trying to say "light kill shots dont effect that chest type frequency, only tier".

    Maybe I'm just misreading you.

    You are...he means the theory that the only way you'll load up blue chests is by killing via magic.

    Yes I'm saying color of light killshot doesn't influence the color of the chest that drops. Which was something that was being considered early on when the idea was that azure kills will result in blue chests.

    all boxes have a chance to spawn, even w/o lights (example the first box can still be blue even the first mob u kill is using WS or melee)

    these lights merely increase rate of box pops(we believe its pearl light for now), and ruby increase red box rate/tier, and azure increase blue box rate/tier

    Not sure how much new info has been posted regarding the !! icons on the NMs but just wanted to note a couple things i noticed today incase any of it is new.

    Was low manning Chukwa in tahrongi and Drain was causing a green !!, happened 100% of the time for the first 3 casts. Told other people to start using drain and it didnt seem to work. Tried again on next recast and it worked again, which makes me believe there might be some kind of internal delay on how often you can trigger it.

    Also after 6 to 7ish !! triggers, we couldnt get it to work anymore, possibly some limit to it.

    Didnt drop anything special. Just the bow and 2 eggs.
