Did we ever find which NM drops the high base damage Great Katana (black PW katana look alike)?

This happened to me last night, and you're correct. I disbanded a party and on my way back to the conflux, someone opened two exp chests that popped before I'd disbanded, and I received the exp from each. (2500 exp was a nice little parting gift!) At work now, but I have a screenshot at home for verification.
After EXPing on Mandies for a couple hours and capping Evasion, I noticed they did not miss me once. I parried occassionally, but they never missed me altogether. They would appear to have 100% accuracy, kinda weird o_O
I've solo'd a few VT mandies on 80 PUP/NIN without that much difficulty (no evasion set, and uncapped skill). Sounds like a steamy pile of really bad luck.
Pretty sure it will limit you to 120 regardless? I know that you can stay inside Ayssea indefinitely via TE's, but once you leave the zone I was under the impression from other sources that any extra time above 120 min is forfeit.
And yeah La Theine sucked pretty bad, not looking forward to spamming that stupid Box in Tahrongi... The Abyssite you get from raising fame there is lame anyway (well, the capped fame one is. I presume there's another similar to Curilla's that may actually be good)
No one seems to have done the Konst. quests yet which sucks. Hopefully they have another awesome one like Kismet.
I meant that I would only stick around doing Tahrongi during the time left above 120 minutes as it would be wasted anyways. So, might as well.
La Theine you can get a repeatable quest done in 1 minute from entry so that one is easy to raise.
Yeah, having capped fame in LTP, looking for ways to raise fame quickly in the other 2 zones. Nothing jumps out as easily repeatable at lvl 1 fame yet in kons. Maybe the medicine one or the mushroom one if you get a party against funguars.
The problem could also be that you have misses filtered. I used to filter misses and damage to self when I was pulling for burns, and then I'd be all "Oh hey, I'm practically invincible!" for an hour or two afterwards until I realized I just wasn't seeing the damage/misses.
Some Questions for that some may know.
Do the abbysite's carry from zone to zone. The ones that give more chest exp etc? Also I think they are Temp items if I'm not mistaken however they dont get used? Is that correct? Thanks for the replies.
Soujorn does, but thats Ivory. Havent gotten a chance to test scarlet in a non LTP party yet.
Anyone have any suggestions for getting Amber light? We are in a run atm and cant seem to do anything to get it. WS such as Tachi:Koki, Tachi:Kagero, Sprits Within, Earth Crusher, aren't giving it.
We are getting a chest pretty much every kill but no megas yet.

What is the colored light you obtain after defeating an enemy in Abyssea? Do the light colors have anything to do with the different colored chests that can appear when a monster is defeated?
There are seven varieties of light obtainable, each providing a unique benefit to the player. Their effects are as follows:
* Pearlescent: All sturdy pyxides will appear with greater frequency.
* Azure: Blue pyxides will appear with greater frequency and yield superior spoils.
* Ruby: Red pyxides will appear with greater frequency and yield superior spoils.
* Amber: Gold pyxides will appear with greater frequency and yield superior spoils.
* Golden: The adventurer will gain experience at an increased rate.
* Silvery: The adventurer will obtain cruor at an increased rate.
* Ebon: A small bonus will be granted to all colored light effects.
Multiple colors can be obtained at once, and each color will grow in intensity the more you acquire, granting even greater benefits. Use them well and these prismatic boons just might be the key to your survival in the harsh environs of Abyssea!
What is the the Flask of Primeval Brew? 2,000,000 cruor is quite a lot for a single item! It would be nice to know what it does before buying it!
Adventurers who quaff a flask of primeval brew will find themselves possessed of transcendent powers for a span of three Earth minutes.
While the deepest secrets of this beatific beverage are not for us to reveal, its benefits include a +999 boost to all attributes, Regen and Refresh that restore 300 points of HP/MP every three seconds, and other effects sure to bewilder even the most brutal Abyssean fiends.
Aside from the questions we received this time, we’d like to take this opportunity to announce two system enhancements that will be coming to Abyssea in the next version update. We will be adding a way for players to check their cruor supply, as well as the amount of time before they can obtain another traverser stone.
And of course, the upcoming Scars of Abyssea and Heroes of Abyssea promise to offer even tougher challenges and richer rewards—don’t miss them!
The Abyssites are key items and stay with you regardless of the zone you're in.
What I'd like to know is why the NPC says there are only 8 to collect when the table clearly lists 20.
LOL WTF@ primeval brew. Awesome
