I can pretty much rule out the Ice Staff for now since Aquillo's is +2 to both, as well as 5 INT and 10 Elemental Skill - that's a hell of a lot of accuracy with good power (and since I"m elvaan I need all the help I can get on BLM)

So I've narrowed it down to either Indra or the -5 Dark Avatar staff. Indra would be a massive power boost over my NQ thunder staff, which I wouldn't even really miss on my SMN as I almost never use Ramuh, at least not for any extended period of time outside of SMN burns (in which case the staff is irrelevant anyway)

On the flipside, -5 Perp on Fenrir and especially Diabolos would be epic. The prick just consumes way too much MP for my liking, and with that -5 I could get it down to a much more manageable amount. Is it even possible, with summoning skill gear, to get a positive MP flow, or just minimize the drain? (Not counting other buffs like Ballad or Refresh)

ARGH it's maddening, I can't decide which to do.
    Do both?

It's actually not that bad. When I started I was 42ish skill Divine Magic. I went to Bibiki Bay on Gob Rabbit pet as rdm/whm and nuked it down normally to about 10-15% then spammed banish/banish2 while skilling up. Eventually with gob mushpot resisted banish2 would do 50+ and once skill hit 130+ it rarely resisted to the point of below 50dmg. LSMates were mentioning carby can almost 1shot with mist.

Yeah, for some reason I thought doing it on whm would be easier, but after one fight I just warped back. I imagine it would be a lot easier on SMN, just been too lazy to go back lol.

    thanks for the suggestions.

The first time I did saplings, Caedarva mire had permanent weather up. Not sure what game month it was, though

But the final trial requires 300 Opo-opo kills, only place I can think of is the Bullbeggars in Den of Rancor, but I never see anyone shouting for "Opo-opo Killer" trials, am I SoL there and just need to solo?
I just finished this staff the other day. Ifrit's cauldron works fine. I did some solo, some duo with another rdm doing the same staff, and on firesday, a war and a bst showed up doing opo-opos on firesday for axe trials.

Spring may be monsoon season for the Elshimos. I had a weather forecast with rain 3 days in a row during the 4th month, for anyone looking to do #841 slimes.

Chigoes/Vermin - Valid point for sure, I didn't consider this camp. While it's probably faster than bats (also, no competition from low-level blm), I doubt 30 minutes, without quite a bit of MP assistance.

Roughly what pos? I'll be starting this tomorrow likely.
Well, when I said sapling I actually meant Treants, sorry. And they're the ones in Grauberg. As far as Chigoes, I think you are overestimating them or something.. With convert and Sigil refresh it goes very quickly solo. They're located in the exact same area as the Treants and like I said, you're casting 1 sleepga, 1 sleepga 2 and 1 Thundaga 3 per set of 4 mobs. You can get 3 sets of mobs per mp pool having to rest maybe a couple of tics for the third set, then convert and continue. So 12 mobs per mp pool, it takes a little over 4 mp pools to get all 50. You rest mp back to full when Convert isn't up so that's 3, plus a second Convert makes that 4 right there, all in the time it takes you to convert twice. Things that help: being taru and using Apradar to find the Chigoes. Obviously it will be slower if you have a smaller mp pool to work with, and if you have to search for the chigoes but they spawn 2 together in pretty much the same spots every time, so once you find them once they're easy to find again.

Comment on the Mamook Lizard camp from a friend: Wind Weather increases the aggro range of the Battle Bugard in the area - with 16m dungeon repop, it's probably better to kill it than sleep-log every time it notices you.

Just finished Indra's Staff last week (well worth it) and the way I did it was as follows:

Treants @ Grauberg [S], I got lucky in that there were a couple of BLM's already there doing it so we just teamed up and got them done. Most of that was waiting on the weather. Watch out for Chigoe agro (but make a mental note of where they are for later) as there's quite a few pairs of them around the Treants area. Took 1-2hrs.

Spiders @ Kuftal Tunnel, again there were already a couple of other BLM's there doing the same trial so we teamed up again. Once weather was up we were lucky enough to have a RDM down there who I think was doing a trial as well, he trained them all to us and we just Sleepga > Thundaga III them to death. Waiting for weather down there was like pulling teeth but once it came you could kill off 15-20 spiders in one round of kills. Did this in about 2-3hrs.

Any monster yeilding exp @ Vunkerl Inlet [S], from where you OP in head down the hill and turn right. Follow the right hand wall and take the first narrow ramp on the right hand side you come to and you'll come across 2 BST goblins. One on the upper level and one right infront of you as you come down the ramp. If you get lucky you can stand on the top level and both pets will be in range so just 1-shot both pets. Takes next to no time and the weather is pretty common. Took about 2hrs.

Beasts @ Vunkerl Inlet [S]. Instead of heading straight forward from the point where you OP in from, turn to your right and head up the ramp and just keep going. You can only go one way. It'll take you to the Gigas BST and his tiger pet. Weather is common and the only problem I came across was the bombs agroing magic, but these are easy to kill if they agro anyway. Bugards will agro too but you have to be pretty close to them. Neither of them should be a problem to anyone who's solo'd on BLM (pretty much all of us then). Took about 3hrs.

Vermin @ Grauberg [S]. Remember those Chigoes you were dodging when you did Treants earlier? You should have a rough idea of where they are now. Get Stoneskin up and agro them, sleepga > Thundaga III > Sleepga > Thundaga II. Profit. I did these 4 chigoes at a time and it took almost no time at all. Remember to go /whm to get rid of plague. Took about 2-3hrs.

Slimes @ Bostaunieux Oubliette, this was the longest part for me. Head to the Sewer Syrup pop area and there's 4 or 5 in that area and another 4 or 5 in an adjoining area. Took about 3 nights @ 3hrs a night so about 9hrs I spent doing this trial - I'm sure there would be better places to do this but I didn't want the competition...and I didn't see anyone else there in the time I was doing it.

Beetles @ Garliage Citadel, I went to the basement there as the beetle pets in other areas were all being slaughtered by other BLM's when I wanted to do the trial. There wasn't anyone partying in the basement at any point I went there. Didn't take too long to do. Maybe 5-6 hrs but would have been longer without Aspir.

Funguars @ The Boyhada Tree (I started out doing the Funguars at Grauberg [S] and although this was easy doing them one at a time it was taking me forever.) As with the Chigoes I thought I'd have a go at doing these 4-5 at a time and it worked a treat. Link the whole 'room' and drag them away from any spiders that might be around. They didn't break a fresh Stoneskin so Sleepga > Thundaga III > apply a fresh Stoneskin, rinse and repeat twice and they were down to around 1-5% HP left so finish them off with an appropriate Thundaga or Thundaga II if you're worried about not hitting the 250 damage mark.

All of this was done as BLM80/RDM40 (apart from the Chigoe part) and with Convert it made it pretty quick I thought. I cringe when I see the list of things some weapons require to kill so I think these trials were pretty easy in comparison.

Where perchance are you getting the 8 slimes in Citadel [S]? I'm camping around the G-8 area behind BG #1 and at most I see 3 in the middle area.

Once you get to the campaign area, follow the right tunnel/path and you will get to an area with 8 rooms and 1 slime each. I did this too myself and it didn't take too long. Once you have killed the 8th slime the first 1 would have reppoped already.

For the vermin or beetles trials, if the Sauru S goblin beetle camp is taken (Roc area), there are 2 more close by but you will need to invis sometimes to manuever to a good nuking spot since there are about 3 other goblins. Drop down the cliff from the Roc area near the Goblin that pops a beetle and follow the left wall/mountain. This is still probably faster than any other solo spot I think then you can just check if the Roc area is free and go back there.

Why don't you "fancy" Grauberg, exactly? I did that place on White Mage and probably the only job that could be more irritating to suffer it on is Bard (though, in fairness, I just swapped to Crook for a killshot and used Hexa Strike to actually get the trees near-death). None of the Magian trials are an orgy of wonder and happiness, but the rewards are worth it.

That first trial is the least troublesome of the first 4 for pretty much every route. I was strongly considering doing an earth accuracy+4 for slow/elegy (cure potency and thunder damage+4 complete, working on ice damage+4), but fuck that. I am not doing that fucking slime trial again.

Are there seriously this many people that don't have SMN75 leveled? jeez. The first few trials are so freaking easy to just do on SMN, and even easier if you find people to team up with, which is pretty damn common.

I need to do the staff on my 2box bard and I have no idea how I'm going to do the 50 earth damage without any damaging mage jobs leveled. >_>

For the m.acc trials, do the mobs need to die with said enfeeble on them? Or do you just have to spam enfeebles a lot?

I think BRD/SCH could kill-shot them for sufficient damage.

Someone said *they think* it has to die with enfeeb on them, but I have not seen that verified yet by someone who actually did the trial.
