Is there anywhere in Den of Rancor I can do a Slime trial and not need to worry about aggro while I'm resting? It's annoyingly slow, but having to watch /heal is driving me nuts.
do bost. oubliette instead of den of rancor.
1. less aggro
2. friends more likely to go there to help you
yes, 16min respawns, but theres 13+ so its no issue.
Yes, but it is a bit of a walk. If you walk towards the Doomed, there is a spot where nothing spawns, I had a guy stand there while I did the entire trial for thunder killshots. However, I did not use it myself since I was able to consistently kill the slimes as they respawned on SCH, so when I was full of MP the next one was ready to die.
Den of Rancor is your only real non-sync option for the 2nd trial for the darkness elements, assuming it is monsoon season for the Elshimo region. I had to finish my trial there after it looked like my sync for Ranguemont wasn't coming back when he DC. There's at least 6-8 slimes in a tiny area on the way to Hakutaku, and another small group not too far away.
Just completed Ice Dmg trail on Arcana... Urgh, horrid. Just horrid.
I went to Garlaige and killed the Over/Vault Weapons in the basement first of all, but the respawn time for 6 weapons was making it drag far too long. So I kicked up my Rdm mulewhore, and headed to Ro'Meave. Found some random Nin doing the Dbl Atk trial, he listened, and boom~ went from 130>20 in no time. Had to get the last few myself.
TO MAMOOK!
Trial 791 (50 Spiders Fire Wind Light Thunder weather) can be a real pain for these staff trials. I'm on my third staff now (Cure +17%) and sometimes your best choice is to just wait for weather in Kuftal Tunnel but sometimes the weather last for only 5 mins or so and weather wont be back for maybe hours -_-.
I've done all the research I could for alternate camps but it seems everyone really has to endure it one way or another lol.
Indra's/Varuna's complete next: Cure +17%, Magic acc +4: Dark, Earth, Ice, Wind yay...
The tree often has lightning weather, so check the NPC to see when it will be up and kill spiders there.
I don't know how you guys keep up the motivation. I completed Indra's/Surya's....tried to start a 3rd and couldn't stomach the treant's in grauberg (S).
I started 6 staffs at the same time. Currently done with 3. The last 3 are: 1, 2, and 3 trials away from completion. I wanted to get the weather trials with over asap, so that's why I started them all.
The weather trials are definitely horrible. I had constant weather in Mire for my first trial. For all other trials, I level sync'd and teleported to the crags.
For slimes, I level sync'd to Rang. Pass, so weather was up constantly.
For spiders, I made sure other people were in the zone and did the trials with them. With medium sized to large groups, you can sleepga hordes of spiders and keep them at low hp while waiting for weather to pop.
What I do is try to join up with -anyone- who's doing a trial I can join them for. With multiple trials going on, there's overlap with linkshell members or random people. As long as you're not doing the trials solo, they go by so much faster. There's a surprising amount of overlap if you search zones and/or check the wiki for trial overlaps. In general, fire and thunder are the most popular days, though a lot of blus make magic accuracy swords, and a lot of nin and thf make evasion katans.
Also, putting up search comments and checking random people in the zone helps. If I'm solo'ing a trial, I get bored after 30 minutes. If I'm doing a trial with other people, I can sit there for several hours.
I guess it helps that I'm mostly making magic accuracy staffs, and only 2 damage staffs, because the killshots I generally did solo, but the non-kill shots I either level synced or did with other people.

Random tidbit of info:
Box Step counts as a wind debuff for the Wind M.acc Staff
When doing slimes under ice/dark/water/earth weather I found it helpful to /search Rang. Pass for a group synced doing slimes, they're almost always happy to help you out.
I found that with Ranguemont Pass, the ideal level to be down there is Lv41. At Lv42, some of the Ooze become Too Weak, and at Lv40 a lot of the Stirge's aggro sound. At lv41 I found that during the whole trial, only 1 Stirge aggro'd me, and once killed, a lesser level one spawned and didn't aggro.
This. In addition, if you have more two people or more working on the trial (Note: That means neither of them are the sync), the sync can afk at the tunnel close to the first set of slimes (Sync needs to be LV41ish) while one of the members drops the PT and trains the two farther slimes near the first two. When that member arrives, have them join the PT and each person takes on one of the slimes. RDM melee is best for this (Enspells + SS + Phalanx). With Signet buff, you should take single digit damage without Phalanx.
I need to do Amorphs under Ice day/weather. Where besides the first tunnel climbing Ule. Range (and the ledge with hecteyes) can I find some? Place is overcrowded today. ><
Couple things about the Mamook lizard pet camp for ice trial 849 that may help save people some XP loss... Don't go on firesday, unless you have seriously sick gear, because the lizard will usually live at 1-2% if you get a firesday proc (and those stupid bugards link with it too). Don't stand very near the ledge because the bugard that wanders below can aggro if you do. The spot you get to stand in is right in between two mamools but if you follow the picture posted a few pages back they'll never aggro you.
I've completed light and earth macc staves for my BRD. I feel like I'm not seeing an increase in macc compared to HQ staves. Now, this is only based on feel and not on any kind of data. Have people who have completed the macc staves been generally satisfied with them?
