I'm a little late on the drk vs mnk zerg argument but... A good monk mnd build chi blasts before a zerg. I know what you're thinking, "2k damage so what." Primal brew adds +999 to mind and as far as we know chi blast has no ceiling.

12k damage for the use of a single JA is pretty incredible, to put things in perspective: A single person with Dual Send could take down AV with only 7 lvl 40 mnks (If the brew worked in sea.)

Lets face it, there is going to be at least one more "AV" style boss in ffxi and its most likely going to be in the new expansion content where primal brew works. SE has learned, and I would place money that the boss has the souleater block. From past experience we know it will most likely be zerged the first time it is killed, the only job to turn to will be primal mnk burning with corsair rotation: (3 full power chi blasts in 3 minutes for over 35k damage per monk) get 15 mnks on board and you do the math...

Oh and before anyone says "how could you possibly tank it?" that problem solves itself, spread the monks out in 3 groups based on party and put them in a large triangle, capped hate+ boost spam will make the mob kite itself.

Well, the fun police have arrived. Maybe once he gets to 8 posts he'll be able to join in the fun.

The game was pretty archaic before people realized some of this stuff and I'd just like to toss out an idea that might lead to something where people can see it.

Yes to all of these, if they made those statements without any evidence like you did. Go and test for yourself, then come back with proof.

A rdm chainspelling 5k damage nukes might be a slightly more effective use of primal brew.

Primal brew, yeah let me pick one of those up at the corner store... It's got to start with an idea and I've quit the game so it'll have to be someone else.

@5k nukes from CS rdm, I believe T3 nukes have a soft cap well under that but who knows. According to Bikpik you should go test it before you toss the idea out there /facepalm.

Rdm has t4 nukes. Either way, even with soft/hard caps, 2-3k would be easy, if not 4k. 5k might be a stretch, it's hard to say, since it's completely impossible to even hit the soft cap for t4 nukes on anything (without primal brew?), so obviously i can't say how much it'd do for sure, but with full mab gear, 1100 int, and dmg+4 staff, there's no way it'd do less than 3k minimum, which is still 60k+ damage per chainspell, and with resets, you could do 3 cs, which would be 180k damage, with infinite mp.

If you've quit the game, how about you stop throwing out ridiculous ideas?

MNK and RDM would probably be the best jobs for the primal brew.

Chainspell would give you the fast cast that the primal brew lacks, and with convert and +MP from brew, you could probably solo anything in seconds with 100k HP or lower.

If its strong vs Magic, then MNK would destroy it with physical damage. The primal brew lacks haste... So if you aren't instant casting spells then you are using hundred fists.

With 999 DEX and 999 STR, you are probably spamming crit hits up the ass and for massive damage with STR 999. You are doing this at hundred fists speed and the mob cannot touch you with magic or melee with 999 INT, 999VIT, 999 AGI.

You basically have perfect dodge, invincible, mighty strikes, and hundred fists on MNK with capped acc and attack. While resisting enfeebles completely and resististing magic.

A single party with 6 primival brews will kill anything abyssea has to offer unless SE makes a mob with 1,000,000 HP(In ff11) but I doubt it.

A level 1 MNK character would beat your level 80 character's ass with this brew if he could, its broken.

    on another note, Octave Great Katana {Can I has it?}

Really doubt SE will let these be used outside of Abyssea.

That doesn't tell us if it still works on normal hits, that's obviously just a hexa strike with it, even kraken stops now and then.

nar, I always keep my Fanatic's drink from besieged to use in emergancies. it's cool because it's a Temp. Item and doesnt take any of your normal invo space. It's rly useful to have when tanking genbu with only ~15-16 members ^^

Don't be silly; if you had one you could use it on your SMN at 88!
